There is no better 911 model than the 997, iv had a 997,991,992 and the only one I have left is the 997 so much more fun to drive and customise than the others I have had.
Thank you. I agree. The 997 is on my “keep no matter what happens” list. I foolishly sold my first one and won’t make that mistake again. Thanks for watching!
Nice and i love that you were calm the whole time and not so much fast forward like most of the tuning films 🙏🏻💪🏻 I have almost the same colour on my 997 .
The 997 is in a pretty sweet spot right now when it comes to depreciation. I don’t see how they could go down much more and I can’t think of many cars that offer more bang for your buck 👍
Great video, really helped my install. Did you figure out what the small circular part is used for? Can’t find any references to it and it came in my box.
Sorry to hear you had fitment issues. Were you able to get it mounted properly with a little work? I’m probably going to run into the same thing with my rear deck lid I bought since it’s an aftermarket part.
This mod is on my list to do. Are you planning on installing protective screens for the radiators? I would, just to keep out the leaves etc. Great lighting and camera work by the way!...
Thanks! Most likely going to leave the bumper as-is and keep the radiator area vacuumed out, not a big fan of how the screens look but they do serve a good purpose.
Thanks. You can find them at the usual sources, suncoast, getporscheparts, etc. Can also likely order directly at your local dealership to save on freight.
Great video, thank you very much. I am currently installing the same bumper and a little concerned about ride height. My C4S is currently stock but have coilovers on order. You mention you’re lowered, how much? Thanks a lot!
Mine is fairly low but I don’t have exact measurements. I painted the front lip with flexible vinyl dye meant for interiors and it has held up nicely despite some pretty nasty scrapes. You can also get the GT3 lip that is designed to be abused.
Great video. Your video pushed me to get the aero bumper after months of contemplation. Looks like you purchased the aero bumper brand new? If that is the case, does the bumper arrive already primered or bare?
Perfect video, thanks for uploading! I have this kit currently in route from Germany and will use this as reference when doing the install. Quick question, does the kit come with a new toe hook cover? Thanks in advance.
Hi im from uk wanting to do this . Do you have any links on where to buy the bumper ..i have only found copy ones so far. Also did you do gt3 /aero style boot wing and side skirts?
You can still by them directly from Porsche or your local supplier that sells genuine Porsche parts. I didn’t do side skirts but later added a GT3 RS style rear wing.
Thanks! I actually painted it myself for about $150 in supplies. I believe a shop would charge $500-600 for paint but it can vary wildly depending on where you’re located.
Hi, I just love the way the rims and the whole setup looks. I know you have mentioned that the rears are 19x11.5 with 996 turbo offset. Do you know the exact offset # ? It looks perfect on a NB. Thanks for the help!
@@y2ksierra yeah .. I don’t mind a little camber or rolling the fenders.. but just love the stance and look of your setup. Thanks for getting back to me.
Steves Diecast cars No problem and I appreciate the kind words! These wheels were a risk from the moment I bought them but they’ve worked out better than I ever could have imagined.
When reassembling the bumper, how do you put back those fixing metal clips near the headlights which you have taken out with zip? Just sliding them back in?
I haven’t noticed a difference, but I’ve really only gone highway speeds in this car. Porsche recommends a rear wing with the aero front, so it would be ideal to have one to balance out the kit. I actually do have a wing, but I have yet to install it as it is going to require a little work to get it to fit since it’s not an OE piece.
Do you need to reinstall the center blank piece? Without it there, the air would go through the bumper and . . . where? Under the car or . . . ? Is there any aerodynamic theory of having it there, is there a Porsche edict, or is it user preference? Just curious.
I would install it unless you plan to run a center radiator, those get a different insert if I remember correctly. You could always try running without it, but seems like it would disturb the aerodynamics of the car.
Amazing job on everything you’ve done thus far to this beautiful 997. If you don’t mind me asking when you first bought the car were you not worried about things like the ims, rms, or bore scoring? I ask because I’ve been thinking about picking up a 997 myself however I am worried about these issues in the 997.1 and the 997.2’s are far more expensive and rare to find than the .1 editions.
Sure, those things are all concerns; however, the availability and pricing of the 997.1 make them a calculated risk worth accepting, at least to me. The 997.2 cars are nice but they aren’t perfect and have high pressure fuel pumps and other things to deal with as they age.
@@y2ksierra I get it, It is a nice Porsche . If you ever at the point of selling then you know where to find me. Btw what is the mileage and manual or auto transmission? Thanks
@@tjj6583 yes it was sourced via a dealer that also sells parts online. It’s not a GT3 bumper, it’s the “aero kit” bumper. It’s basically the same except it doesn’t have the vent at the top of the bumper that is for the third radiator. From my understanding this can be cutout and the grill added if desired; however, I’m happy with it as is. To answer your other question, the car is a 6 speed manual and a “S” car with the 3.8 liter engine.
Scott Cathey I think the fronts are the same. My wheels are wide body spec and only the rears fit aggressive. I’ve also seen the RS front fender extensions on narrow body cars and those seem to fit fine as well.
The 997.2 aero bumper is quite a bit different and more expensive as it comes with additional parts. I’m sure you could make the .1 bumper work but it would make for a bit of an odd car mixing the .1 front with the .2 rear. Check the major online retailers for pricing as it can fluctuate.
I got it from getporscheparts, they had the best price I could find. You should also be able to buy at your local dealer but it’s a toss up on whether they’ll match online pricing or not.
It’s a Quickjack made by bendpak. Picked it up from Costco a few years back and it’s one of the best garage tools I’ve ever bought, highly recommend it as it gives you about two feet of room under the car to work.

Looks awesome man! The car looks so much tougher 👊🏼
One of the best videos.
Concise, practical.
Thanks, I appreciate the kind words!
Just realized I had seen this video before as well since I was planning this bumper swap!
Hey! Lovely car. Mind doing follow up video of how the car looks now and with your new GT3 wing?
Looks good! I've been contemplating what fun car I want to get, and have been looking at some 997's.

Great job on your 997. It’s a beauty!!
Excellent video. It helped me a lot . Your car looks really nice.
Thankyou
Looks wonderful, nicely done.
Looking to do the same build once i can get my hands on one
Try the quick jack the other way... pistons to the rear, it picks up easier
great video. i made the mistake of buying the kbd version and it was an absolute nightmare. nothing fit . wish i would’ve went oem!

Quickjack should be position the other way since engine is in the rear.
Did you think about installing a third radiator while you were in there?
Wow looks great

Nice install. Can you provide information on where yo purchased the aero bumper, thanks.
Came from “Get Porsche parts”.
looks like a proper porsche now. do the rear wing next
Thank you. Just installed a GT3 RS style wing and it really balanced the car out.

You won’t regret it, the aero bumper really changes the look for the better. Mine arrived primed so I only had to lightly prep it before painting.

Yes, it included the tow hook cover 👍

LC the car looks fantastic. What a great upgrade. Am I right in saying this is a non-S Carrera?
Appreciate it! This one is a C2S with the 3.8.
Hello, can you share the link of the bumper please, thank you
Looks awesome bro!
Thanks!!
Hi did you not work out what that black plastic cup was for ?
Wicked look now with the Aero front end. Have a silver Aerokit 997 Myself in the UK - What wheels are those? Look ace.
Thanks and appreciate you watching! The wheels are HRE C20s in 19s, they gave the car a nice aggressive stance combined with the coilovers.
Nicely done! I am thinking of getting the same thing on my 997. How much did the color match paint job cost?
Thanks! I actually painted it myself for about $150 in supplies. I believe a shop would charge $500-600 for paint but it can vary wildly depending on where you’re located.
That center piece looks weird, it blocks air to the radiators. How do they get air?

When reassembling the bumper, how do you put back those fixing metal clips near the headlights which you have taken out with zip? Just sliding them back in?
Yes, push them back in. I think I may have used a block of wood and a rubber hammer to lightly tap them in so they'd lock correctly.

Vacuuming with shopvac would be best
