- In this episode of Car Stories, we feature JB and his unique 2012 Porsche 997.2 Carrera, inspired by the 997 GT3 Touring. JB recounts his journey from considering a BMW M3 to choosing the Porsche as his dream car, influenced by his car-enthusiast family and a supportive suggestion from his father. He details the car's modifications, including a GT3 cup front bumper, Recaro pole position seats, and Rotiform wheels, which were chosen to steer away from the norm. JB also discusses his transition from car shows to track days, his experience of using the 997 as a daily driver in Toronto, and the appeal of Porsche's driving dynamics. He openly shares his future car aspirations, considering a Cayman GT4 or 997 GT3, and discusses the Porsche brand's irreplaceable place in his life. The episode concludes with anticipation for JB's future modifications and appreciation for the build.

I first saw JBs car back in 2019 and it inspired me to find a dot two GT3 bumper for my C4S (which I eventually did). Met him several times over the years. Great guy!
That’s amazing. His build is for sure inspiring 😃🙌
These videos are by far some of the best videos EVER. The builds the owners have done is beautiful and tasteful. Kudos to all of you.
I am glad you like them. Thank you for supporting the channel 😃🙌
Need more cars for 2024 episodes
@thedevthing , I'm working on purchasing a 997.2 of my own. Right now, I'm helping I'm modifying my G35 coupe and helping my son modify his Lexus ES300.
Great effort as always Prabhul! Always fun hearing from others who suffer from the same affliction I do. Cheers!
Thank you for the support 🙌😃🙏
I hope to have more owners featured this year.
Thanks for creating this content. The golden hour rolling shots are beautiful.
Thank you for watching and supporting the work 😃🙌
Wow another killer video. This guy is so good🙌🏾
Thank you 😃🙌
The guy being interviewed is a good guy 😃🙌
Amazing new shots Prabhul!! Red films so well too! Great car JB.
Thank you for that 🙌😃🙏
Red is such a contrasting color against the city infrastructure 😃
These owner build overview/interviews are 👌.
Thank you for watching and supporting the channel 😃🙌🙏
I really like these interviews - they're so down to earth. And love hearing other peoples stories and journeys!
Thank you, I appreciate you watching and supporting the channel 🙏😃🙌
Absolutely stunning! ❤
🙌🙌🙏
I LOVE THIS BUILD ❤
Same 🙌😃
I’ve had that car on my laptop for a few years as part of my screensaver slide deck. Those Rotiforms are the business!! Perfect!!
😃🙌 thank you for watching the video. Hope I bought the car to life in these videos 😃🙌
Certainly did!!
another great video!
🙌😃🙏
I've missed these so much. Awesome video and work as usual. My fav gen 911 too!
🙏🙌😃
I am doing my best to balance it with my day job 😅😃🙌
So many missed moments in this video. Dude is like it sounds so good with the sport exhaust and then clip to an audio less roller.
Great video! Love the ending
Appreciate the feedback. Audio is still something I am working to improve. So I B-roll what looks good for now 😅😃
@@thedevthing format is actually good. Interview then b roll. Just the clips of rollers with no audio make it awkward
I've always admired this one in the Rotiform gallery! It's awesome that you're doing a segment on it.
That’s amazing. Thank you for watching 😃🙌🙏
Thank you for this video. I am a new subscriber from Los Angeles California, but watching you over here on the big island of Hawaii. This red 997 is nice thank you and I’ve looked at your other videos. You make some nice videos you guys thank you and I definitely need your videos over here on the island because we don’t have very many Porsches on the big island. There are people with them over here but I’m not a lot of them over here. Well thank you so much for this video. I’m thinking about buying one of these myself and I am a Porsche owner.🤙🏿🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Appreciate you watching and supporting the channel. I am glad I could bring some entertainment value to you 🙌😃🙏
Love the 3.6 C2 manual. I have a Nov 11 3.6 997.2 and have similar mods under the skin, KWV3, uprated engine mounts, quick shift, bypass exhaust, forged wheels etc. I also have a 991.1 GT3 and whiles I love both there is something special about the 997.2 manual. Don't sell it for a GT4 you will regret it !!
Wow that sounds like an amazing build 🙌😃
997.2 is my favour generation of all 911. Look modern and future classic.
💯😃🙌
Gorgeous car!
It really is!
Beautiful car!
🙏🙌😃
Always cracks me up when there is the occasional comment (I think this is the second time I’ve heard it on this channel) about how much more “modern” the .2 plastic interior pieces painted black look than the sort of bronze color on the .1. I happen to have a .1, guards red, cup lip, GT3 front bumper and rear wing, OZ wheels, 991.2 GT3RS Steering wheel and I never ever look at those black plastic pieces as such a big deal, I guess the host of this show really does? Very very rarely see people comment about it or update (as it would be very very simple to do) to the black. But ok, I guess.
Awesome thank you for your comment and thank you for sharing details of your car.
My comment about .2 interior is a view I have when I glance at it that’s all. It’s an opinion and I am glad it’s provides comedic value 😂
Thank you for watching my videos 😃🙌
Stunning car Sir.
💪🙌💯😃
another banger!
🙏🙌😃
Well done fellas!
Appreciate that 🙌😃
911 is a stunner - production of the video here isn't far behind 😉
Appreciate the support 😃🙌🙏
Very nice car. I love the overall look, with the gt3 front bumper and the duck tail. Stance is perfect 😃👍
🙌😃 thank you for watching the video 😃
The pleasure was all mine. Like the others commented; your filming style is top notch😃👍@@thedevthing
The qualities of your videos , how can you not having millions of subs ?
Nice video. A little advice for a touring inspiration. Ditch the tail. Caymans are just as good as the 911 with one caveat. Caymans are more fun to drive.
Thank you for watching and I agree about the Cayman. I think I mentioned the fun factor of a cayman in the video too 😂😃
…. Oops,… except my SharkWerks bypass 😂❤
Stunning 997. I know u tryna go for the gt3 touring look but I feel it would look absolutely sick with a gt2 style wing. Just my 2 cents
This is more subtle, more understated, and more integrated asa whole. Depends on the look you want though, and there's something for everyone.
Either option works great 🙌😃
Thank you for watching the video 😃
What offset are your rims? The Canadian crew has that ultra flush setup I am aspiring to obtain!
🙌 19x8.5 +36 & 19x11.5 +48
What are jb’s socials? Would love to keep up with the build, currently looking to replace my 340i with a 997
Here it it’s. instagram.com/j__esguerra
His page was hacked last year and he had to start this one.
Not sure why people like to shit on a cayman like it is an inferior car. I own both a 718GTS and a 992s , and the cayman is amazing. I don’t really feel one is “better” than the other. They both excel at different things , and are both glorious
I hope we didn’t give off the impression that the cayman is inferior. I agree with your points.
If I could have both I would. But as a personal preference I would take a 911 first if I had to choose one.
I recently had to decide between my GT3RS and the GT4RS. It took me weeks before I could decide to pass on the 4RS 😅
Sometimes I look back and think it was a mistake 😂
They shit on it because it is inferior..ans a waist of a build spot where Porsche coukd build a GT CAR instead of crap
@@thedevthingum know. Not a mistake at all
Cayman is so far from an inferior car. I have a 997.2 911 I've also had a 911 turbo, my brother's have Caymans one has a 981.2 the other a 718 & they are the single greatest gentleman sports cars for the money in all of automobilia. I own 911s I'm a 911 guy but the Porsche Cayman is the greatest car ever made. Flat out.
Remember, most of the commenters have never owned or driven either car. I’ve owned a widow maker ( 930 ) a carrera 4s , a gt2 ( pure track ) and just purchased a T . Every Porsche model has a purpose and budget in mind when built. All are outstanding machines if used for their purpose. Hell, a VW GTI can be a blast if driven correctly!
🙌
😃🙌
Gorgeous example of a 997.2
🙌😃💯
this guys voice is killing my speakers
