Thanks for for video Earnest, A question if I may, would there be any benefit of installing a barrel liner, and a barrel tensioner kit to my FX Impact M3 Sniper
I have 4 Impact MK2s. But FX is going in circles at this point. I have the original 600mm solid barrels in .25 and .30. Theyre pretty accurate with pellets. The USP of the liner system was that it was flexible to increase accuracy. Now theyre trying to tighten everything down. Why dont just make the solid barrels in all calibres and all lengths?
Trouble with the tensioner. to fix the carbon tube of the kit you have to screw the bolt at the end of the barrel on the screw that holds the liner. But these screws that hold the liner and the carbon tube are tight, the slugs go all over the place, there is no more precision. Ernest Rowe shows us how to tighten the tensioner kit but tightening the kit tightens the liner screw and we lose precision. It would take a stop for the screw that holds the liner. Do you have a solution ?
Ernest, thanks for the guide. Once the barrel tensioner is installed, the integrated barrel tuner no longer fits. How does one separate the integrated tube from the tuner?
I want to knownthe truth of this systems.. when you use the carbon fibres leave with the tension system... does it really improve the stiffness of the whole barrel?
It would be much better to increase the shroud diameter, then have the jam nut with an integrated air stripper so the shroud still worked as a sound moderator, for the air to disperse. Then have the male 1/2 inch UNF on the end the air stripper for an extra silencer to be added, but I guess that part will only be available next spring.... For the right price. I'll go make one, and get back to to you all.
What is the size of the carbon fiber tube please. I bought a tensioned kit and it doesn’t look like the same size. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Ernest is this barrel tensioner also available for fx crown mk2 . If not will there something be like this coming for all fx guns . Thanks for your programs it's highly informative and learning.
Will the shroud from bullet central fit over the carbon fiber tension kit in 800mm I need a freaking shroud Ernest plz let me it's to loud with the shroud
@@FXAirguns Hi, I tried it with my 0.177 sniper edition but the barrel could not be tightened correctly/effectively. Can you please make a video for this? Thank you
@@FXAirguns No. It would not fit (I think). I was trying to use the one from the M3. The M4 seems to have a different block. It would be nice if you could do a video. Overall there are not a lot of videos regarding the M4 or setting up the M4 correctly. Especially for us having the 0.177 its even more difficult…
Can you use this kit with the carbon fiber sleeve that is installed between the liner and the barrel because I have that already installed I want to know if that carbon fiber sleeve can stay in between the liner and the barrel while using the tensioner kit with the new tension nut that goes on the outside of the barrel that's being replaced?
I just posed the same question to somebody else that's pushing that tension kit and he answered back and said that the liner works fine with the tension kit he has both installed on his just thought I'd pass that along.
These are improvements made by others after people figure flaws in design. Just like all the aftermarket parts for all guns. It's not to make more money by FX.
Didn't work for me. First of all, with tensioning up I noted that my shots were all over the place. like 100 cm groups at 100 meters. Turned out that the barrel fix just after the block wasn't properly fixed in the factory: thus pulling the barrel out of the gun by tensioning the tensioner. Fixed that, installed again, tuned the gun. Groups did not improve beyond "before-barrel-tensioner" ( even slightly worse) and the gun got a hell of a lot louder, like .22LR loud. Other people started telling me, I should check the tensioner if it was cut properly, and if not, it could warp your barrel. I just took it of. Installed original shroud, tuned again, and am back at "sub-moa-ish" groups at 100 meters. (FX IMpact M3 sniper in .25) I decided to invest in a proper Bipod (Fortmeier, which I can fully recommend!) and in time maybe a 700 cc bottle and a backbone. MOA / Submoa groups are good enough for me.. Mind you, the barrel did stiffen up significantly. I shoot 25.49 grain pellets at 275m/s with great results. If one shoots slugs at way higher energy and speed, the tensioner might be more beneficial. I simply don't know. Just my two cents.
Isent this more barrel pipe tensioner than barrel tensioner ? I mean the barrel are inside the pipe, held in place by the end "caps" of the barrel pipe. When i first heard of this i was thinking how the hell do they tension the barrel "straw" but i have seen they ( south African boys ) put a thread on the "straw" and so are able to pull on that just fine. I really really want to see before and after tests with this though, not that i think it will be going on my Maverick i have already poured too many money into. What i would like to see is FX putting a thread on the end of the barrel, and then just put a rifling on the remaining CM of the barrel, sort of the old ST barrel in reverse. This way we could screw the barrel in place real good, and we could pull in it real good too, and i dont think it matter if the barrel is smoother bore for the first inch or so ??? O and why do all airguns have a transfer port ( single or double ) why not have a channel on the outside between two O-rings, and then a lot of smaller holes in that channel all the way around the barrel, so it would be say a 12 port barrel. Or maybe it is a must that the air go strait into the barrel and not in a channel on the outside if the barrel and then via that into many smaller transfer ports.
