Tensioning system Titans the barrel to reduce harmonic of the barrel. The tuning weight is designed to change the harmonics so the slug leaves in the middle of the harmonic node.
I use this tuner on my HW97 with a moderator and it reduced my shot group by about 1/3rd. I am presently tuning my HW98 with the tuner and moderator. I'm not finished yet but at 50 yards on one setting the shot group was over 40mm and with one adjustment between the large marks on the tuner the shot group went down to 18mm. I would recommend the tuner for a springer that is properly tuned and you have already settled on the pellet you will be useing. I think it is too much work for a PCP that will be tuned differently for different conditions such a switching from pellets to slugs. Your video on how to use the tuner is excellent.
Hi Peter, thx nice Vid, Thimb up. may i add somthing to your last comment about the right tuning for the different weight. that is why the harmonic tuner is made - so that you could shoot at any velocity you prefere and to get the barrel to combensate the pressure power and lower or higher velosity. i have it in my M3 shooting for training JSB KO 25.4gr. at 120 Bar reg. 955 fps at -2.1 and it works fine 17mm 100m and the H&N 30 gr. at 120bar reg 920 fps +2.4 19mm at 100m. but one thing i hve only the carbon sleave and not the tenssioner like you. Thanks for sharing mate 🤗 It is comments like yours that allows us to learn more 🙂 My experience with the harmonic barrel tuner is limited, so absolutely great that you provide 👍👍👍
I enjoy watching your videos, keep it up. But one thing I often notice in your videos is that your targets sometimes move from left to right or vice versa. That seems bad for your grouping!
This will be my third attempt to get my first message across ! In short ! The plus to a tuner would be reaching the velocity of a given projectile for either hunting or long distance shooting and then tuning the accuracy with a tighter group with the tuner . Seems your next move is to index your barrel (liner) and do some testing . 😁
In my testing with harmonic tuner's? You have to change it from day-to-day the weather changes everything.. Even when I'm shooting without a harmonic tuner in the morning when it's 50゚I'm dead on target in the afternoon when it's eighty degrees I have to reaadjust my scope. Still testing but preliminary results show that temperature plays a big roll. In my opinion it's too much work. I want to have fun shooting but I also want to be accurate.
I experience the same challenges to some extend. And I think you pointed out another issue with the barrel tuner. I can imagine that we can learn how to use it like we do with the regular micro tuning wich can solve the issue that you mention pretty easily. To me with the knowledge that I have, the barrel tuner is just another variable - that you can do without 🤓
Another great video Peter ! I think those with shorter barrels (eg 500 & 600) gain a little benefit using the tuner because it extends the barrel length and somewhat reduces the "backwash" of turbulent air that disturbs the slug or pellet, after it leaves the barrel. Even if the "harmonic tuning" doesn't contribute much help - I think the fact it extends & dampens the barrel can help a bit. But I can see that your setup is so well-tuned that it can't improve the situation further. By the way - some time ago you were very impressed by the accuracy of the ZAN 20gr. But in the last couple of vids you have been using the ZAN 16gr. Do you get better results now using the 16gr ? Thanks for the great videos.
@@nonickname6154 I think I was using the 600 mm barrel when I was doing the other test of the tuner and it did indeed make a difference. So if one had a not so versatile gun it would make a huge difference. The reason for going back to the 16 gr was that I didnt wanna shoot with the high reg, but my good friend Stefan has just started using the M3 with a 600 mm barrel and the Huma dual hole transfer port and he has a very reasonable spread and what seems to be great accuracy, so I will do some testing with this transfer port and perhaps both 600 and 700 mm 😎😃🤓
@@VikingAirgunner Sounds very interesting. Have you considered using lighter slugs eg 13gr to 15gr, to reduce the forces necessary to speed them to ca. 970 fps (which seems to be around the optimal velocity) ?
@@nonickname6154 I think that the performance of both the 16 and the 20 gr are so good and actually more consistant than the lighter slugs, so if Im about to change the weight it is more likely to go up 😃

No we dont see it very often, but there was a competition just recently where there were quite a few guys using barrel tuners. If it was this one or the Swan model I dont know 🤔
I love your videos.,we can learn a lot from you, thanks.

Hey You are great man i love you. you made world record in freediving actully today i seen your first video.
I wouldn’t use it on a tensioned barrel either, excellent video.

well done, I agree with you 100%. Honest and useful video, thank you.

Definitely need to pin your target down more, top and bottom at least, your point of aim is moving.
Agree 😃😃
I'd say yes !
Good guess 😃

Ohh I can see your comment but very sad to hear this. I wish that I had a saying in this, but as you say it is most likely a standard 🤔
The guys who "invented" (or brought this to FX) this, do not even use it. It was trend for a minute
