Had a Jones fracture once. It happens to a lot of soccer and football players. It occurs when your ankles are unusually strong, and because of that, when you start to turn your ankle, it doesn’t sprain. The ankle’s too strong. So the pressure is released by the bone on the side of your foot curling under and popping. And it’s so to heal.

I had a Jones fracture 2 years ago. Had to have a screw put in because while I had it healing in the walking boot I ended up breaking it more by slipping on ice. Took me 2 weeks after surgery to start just walking again. Then after another 4 weeks I could finally start running. Hopefully Henry with the access to the best medical care and recovery is able to come back this season and terrorize defenses because he's fun to watch.

I’ve had this exact fracture. I actually broke the 5th metatarsal in a few places including zone 1 and zone 2. I walked on it for a couple of days before going to the doc. It took 10 weeks to fully heal and didn’t require surgery but I did have to use a ultrasound machine to stimulate bone growth. Hopefully with the surgery his recovery time will be much faster.

Is it possible it happened earlier on in the game and it just took a while for his high pain tolerance to catch up to him?

Possibly maybe even happened in practice that week but didn’t feel it

Possibly , I wondered if it was a stress fracture

This was truly helpful, because I’m trying to figure out when it actually occurred .. but Henry should take as much time he needs foreal , the life expectancy for a running back is like 8 years and he’s year six in the league.. not jinking him or anything .. but he’s been tip top shape thee entire time

Football player might not want watch this. Damn. Listening to the explanation of how the fraction might occur, standing on top of your balls, heels high, and changing directions quickly? That's like what technique player does everytime.

I think the Tennessee training staff made a grievous error by putting him back in. They knew it wasn't an ankle, but something to do with those foot bones. He probably cracked it initially. But, when he went back in the game, that probably caused the subsequent fracture. I don't know for sure, obviously, but I am shocked they put a franchise running back in the game with bone issues in the foot, that's baffling...

I don’t think he should have went back in the game either I’m sure it added to a less significant injury by playing that game out. He probably wanted to go back in so he could keep his season going strong though. He was on the way to another 2,000 yard season and maybe a MVP to go with it. I can only hope he comes back strong and a fast recovery. #TitanUp!

Team doc says they knew what it was and based on the type of injury there was no danger of sustaining any further damage and was good to go. The veracity of that I am not positive on...but I do doubt they would green light him if they weren't sure.

@@dennypresley3837 It's impossible to know what the injury was for sure, unless they took x-rays in the locker room, but I don't think that happened...
