      there was when it happened, the more time it goes untreated, the less likely it will heal, maybe only surgery might help, before you don't need surgery, unless a bit of bone came off with it.

    Dr. Sutterer. Im thinking it cant help his injury that every time he is benched and someone gets a three he jumps up and excitedly grasps his forefinger with this thumb and starts whipping his remaining 3 fingers (signalling a 3 pointer) back and forth. He really gets going hard with that at times. When I grasp my forefinger with my thumb my ring finger hyper extends. Flapping you fingers about wildly in that position looks like finger whiplash at times. Help (increase blood flow) or Hurt (minor repetitive strain on a healing joint)?

    I dislocated both my pinky fingers years ago and they exhibit this kind of deformity, but not too bad. I can still type this comment without a problem, but both hands are weak now. I used to be able to palm a basketball. I guess surgery at this point wouldn't do any good.

    So basically it's like a mallet finger but at the proximal joint instead of the distal joint. Is that correct? I had a mallet finger and had to keep it splinted for 8 weeks. But I made a full recovery. I got my full extension back.

    This happened to my middle finger where I cannot shoot now. It happened Feb 1 and 6 weeks later it is still stiff. MRI revealed a slight tear but no surgery required, then at the top joint towards my nail, it's bent down. Now I can't bend either joint without discomfort. Should I get a second opinion? Can it be swollen after 6 weeks?

    • @robertoh.20
      @robertoh.20 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yea, swelling stays for many weeks after a ruptured tendon, it takes about 8 to 12 weeks of keeping the finger straight to fix itself
