I think he’s never given himself time to properly heal from his injuries. Even in his rookie season when he injured his wrist he rushed back from that injury. Then, this season he’s already had 3 ankle injuries prior to this ankle fracture, so I think his ankle was already weakened.

Great review, dig your work. I don’t believe it was the step before as that is a common misdirection step used prior to crossing over. What I saw was a lack of leg strength through the crossover that made it difficult for him to pick up his knees, causing his plant foot to land prematurely while is upper body was over the foot (vs. inside, for leverage during crossover). This resulted in a realtime athletic adjustment to overcompensate from the ground up, causing the injury in the foot at the the weakest link.

I always thought you were supposed to plant on the inside of of you feed from a cut because it prevents rolling of your ankle as the weight your weight will naturally be moved to the middle of your foot once you begin pushing off of it

Bro, I honestly think basketball ball sneakers today are just too low. The most mids dont have support for
1.5 -2 inches below the ankle. Melo's sneakers weren't fully wrapped around his upper ankle so when he planted with his inner foot the upper right of the ankle was not supported so it was allowed to move to compensate and wala..ankle ligament injury. Just my thoughts...

Dang, when I saw the video I thought it was a calf injury too. This really sucks for LaMelo, he's a promising young player but we've all seen what reoccurring injuries can do to young players. People will be quick to point out Steph's ankle issues early in his career but he's an outlier, most players don't bounce back like that from early career injuries.

I think basketball players have it the hardest in terms of their playing surface. Baseball, football, soccer all play on grass or soft turf and don't play as much. Baseball players aren't running very much, mostly standing during a game. Soccer players don't play every other day, season is much shorter and football games are once a week. Hockey players are on ice, but they are sliding around, not jumping. Basketball has got to be the worst for ankle injuries. Players need more rest.

Hi brian any adivice on this information that i have about my ankle Clinical history: Chronic right heel and ankle pain.
    Findings:
    Soft tissues:
Edema in the subcutaneous fat around the medial and lateral ankle reflective of
    a nonspecific cellulitis.
    Bones:
The ankle mortise is in anatomic alignment. No fractures are identified.
Abnormal bone marrow edema seen at the talar dome and, medial malleolus and
posterior malleolus concerning for osseous contusion. Focal loss of articular
cartilage at the lateral talar dome seen on coronal image 17-18 with slight
flattening of the articular surface, ikely representing an osteochondral
injury. Large ankle joint effusion. Posterior subtalar joint effusion.
    Tendons:
The Achilles tendon has a normal appearance.
The posterior tibialis tendon, flexor digitorum tendon and flexor hallucis
longus tendons do not demonstrate tenosynovitisor tear.
Moderate tenosynovitis of the peroneal tendons without tear.
The anterior extensor tendons have a normal appearance.
    Ligaments:
    Anterior syndesmotic ligament is torn.
    Anterior talofibular ligament is torn.
    Calcaneofibular ligament is torn.
Posterior syndesmotic ligament and PTFL are not torn. '
The calcaneofibular ligament is not torn.
The deep deltoid ligament is not torn.
The tibiospring ligament is not identified and likely torn..
    Other:
Abnormal thickening to the medial band of the plantar fascia consistent with a
    severe plantar fasciitis.
The sinus Tarsi demonstrates normal fat without focal lesion or cyst.
The tarsal tunnel does not demonstrate any space occupying lesions.
    Impression:
    1. Abnormal bone marrow edema involving the talar dome, medial malleolus and
lateral malleolus likely representing osseous contusion. Probable small
osteochondral lesion at the lateral talar dome. Large joint effusion
    2. Tear of the anterior syndesmotic ligament, anterior talofibular ligament and
calcaneofibular ligament. Tibial spring ligament on the medial side is not
identified and is likely torn also.
    3. No tendon tear. Moderate tenosynovitis of the peroneal tendons.
    4. Severe plantar fasciitis. Any advice ?

Lavar made them drink too much dairy which takes calcium from the bones. One indicator is the amount of acne Lonzo had in hs to early NBA. He probably took accutane to calm that down. The high acidity coupled with high stress activity is a recipe for early breakdown.

If you watch the full video you can see Lamelo mouth to the Hornets trainer "I popped it, I popped it". Given what Dr. Sutterer is saying happened to his ankle, Lamelo saying that makes complete sense.

At this point, it can't be a coincidence that all 3 Ball boys have had some type of lower body injuries that took them out for a while. Idk if it was the backyard workouts on concrete, lifting weights too early on or the BBB shoes but there's gotta be something

I'm leaning towards constantly working out on concrete when they were young. Doing that wrecks havoc on the knees and ankles in the long run

@SportsCardsForInvestments Not every player is built the same. You cannot simply deduct the possibility that concrete played a role in the injuries both ball brothers are facing today. That would be foolish

Maybe one day players will understand there was a reason players of the past taped their ankles. Along with wearing mid or high tops to support the ankle as well. ... At this rate they will end up playing in slides one day and not understand why their ankles break. 🤦
