Guys, he's still beat boxing...he does it all the time. The real kick is that he mixes his subharmonics and beat boxing to back up and boost Layne's primary rhythmic sounds, plus with his own music a little. Listen/watch the Voiceplay videos closely...you'll find it.
Live he might do it, but beyond using bass notes to amplify certain of Layne's bass kicks, I'm fairly certain he usually doesnt on the videos. Layne will add multiple tracks of himself if needed for the music videos.
@@huldradracoYes got the videos it’s all Layne with multiple tracks, but in some live performances I’m pretty sure he does some downbeats occasionally Also in his own music on his channel he 100% has vocal percussion mixed in there
@@JoeyLeBlancMusic he uses his keyboard and samples to make the drum tracks for his solo work, not vocal percussion. Awesome! I have been wondering about this lol. from what it sounds like to me, with my noob ears, it sounds like he alternates between them. he does a bass note, then a percussion sound, then a bass note again. he doesnt make both at the same time. but man, the amount of breath control to keep that going for an extended time.... you really would need to have a lot of the percussive sounds be on breathing in instead of out to have the breath to keep going...
@@huldradraco But I don't hear any break in tone while I hear a percussion note. Listen from 3:35 to 3:40. Yes there are breaks in the bass notes to follow the rhythm, but at times I swear I am hearing both percussion notes *and* bass at the same time and that is what I don't understand.
