      It's a toss up between Geoff here and Tim Faust of HomeFree they are really close in vocal range.

      @@midnightcaretakers7954 Just a correction, not trying to be a smartass or anything, but it's Foust. And also you are right, they do have pretty similar vocal ranges. Geoff says he hits from A1-A5 (4 octaves) on pretty much any day and techniques such as growling and subharmonics give him a few notes below that (somewhere like D1-E1 lowest). Tim on the other hand is the master of growling and can go much lower than Geoff but that doesn't matter, both amazing singers, i personally prefer Tim's voice in high notes (check out some of his old solo stuff from albums such as "The Best That I Could Do".

    • @jodyosborne8945
      @jodyosborne8945 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Aki Goteb I found out how to do it when trying to growl. I can't growl at all, but I find my chest voice is quite low so I don't really need it. I applied the same relaxation of my vocal cords. You just have to relax and open up while sliding back into fry. It doesn't really work if you tense up. Home this helps, and don't hurt yourself. It'll hurt for a bit at first. Drink plenty of water.

    His subharmonics sound best in his tutorial video where they aren't ruined by overproduction. I get why his voice is processed the way it is, they need the extra bass boosting to match commercial standards but it means a lot of his natural resonance is being swallowed up by artificial bass frequencies. His subharmonic notes are ridiculously resonant when you hear them on their own.

      What he means is that he uses a growl in the live version here: th-cam.com/video/Hhr0TF62KI0/w-d-xo.html

    Hey I made an updated version of Geoff’s subharmonic range that I’ve been working on for a while. Please come check it out!

    His Bb1 in this chrismast isnt subharmonics

      I hear a little pop that subharmonic has, so I think it's sung in subharmonic register

    • @stick157
      @stick157 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hayatropical2659 here's the thing, Geoff can already hit lower notes without going subharmonic so I assume he isn't in his subharmonic register. (Also hitting Bb1 without subharmonics is pretty easy as a bass)

    • @randyjsing
      @randyjsing 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The subharmonic Bb1 before This Christmas is clearly subharmonics. I think the This Christmas excerpt isn’t after listening a couple of times, especially at the very end of that pitch. The “pops” I hear at the end sound more like “chest” than subs in my opinion.

    • @stick157

      @@randyjsing for the queen medley one is obviously subharmonics but the one in this Christmas isn't.

      i like anime Right. That’s what I meant. The Bb1 before the “This Christmas” clip is clearly subharmonics, which is the “Queen” excerpt but I thought by saying the Bb1 before “This Christmas” would suffice. Sorry for the confusion. 👍🏽

      There are plenty of Geoff's vocal range videos on TH-cam, so I'll make his live vocal range video if I make one! Only problem is there are few videos of live performance to make full vocal range video… Anyways, thanks for watching the video!

      hayatropical2 please make a live vocal range for Geoff. I’ve been thinking of making one myself but I don’t have the software. There’s some very decent vids been uploaded recently which shows off his lower chest range very well and I think it would be nice to see a compilation of his live talent

      Matthew Dockray Okay, then I'm gonna make Geoff's live vocal range video! As you said, a lot of VoicePlay's live videos have been posted recently including his lower subharmonic register, so it's possible to make a video that shows his talent, but still I need more materials, so please give me at least a month to complete it!
