Im a fan of JVC for the lower priced units. They are alot simpler and logical than pioneers menues. On sale you can usually get a unit with bluetooth for about $60. Anyways just remember if it stops working one day, pull the faceplate off and reset it. This has happened with two different JVC models. Not often though, like 1/year. Now I have an 80PRS lol
You can buy pre made wireing harness for the head unit and the make and model of a car so there's no soldering crimping or tape I think thay are $30 or $15 For each one
*****exo brother I just put in the Bluetooth version and it's got all the bells and whistles and I love it. It made a difference in my sound. Awesome video brother
Mime wasn't 60 dollars but it's not always the big dollar c.d. players that put out Watts. Mine cost 109 and I'm impressed with the quality of it and it made my vocals sound better too . I had a Kenwood double din in before. Jvc makes great product
I enjoyed watching your video and made well. One free tip if I may for any one or even your self. I personally like to use shrink tape rather than the black electrical tape you had used in the video. Shrink tape is a lot easier to use and not so bulky and looks so much more professional..
How did you connect the wires together? Did you crimp them or did you use a soldering iron? And if you did a soldering job, could I possibly use the crimp method instead? Because I don't trust myself with any soldering jobs.
PunchingMegaTree you see he edited his comment now right lol? wasn't trying to come off pissy but if hes trying to tell false information im going to call him out on it. Was asking exo curious if he was planning on using a line driver or something..Thanks for your input
Just did the same thing with my 01 a few days ago! Though I forgot to put my rca's and my hands free Mic on, so now I get to take it all apart again. Doh
Thanks you so much exo my entire head unit was stolen from my truck and now I'll have to buy the whole thing off of ebay or something. Oh and Do you recommend I go with jvc or kenwood?
Might be a lil late but from my understanding jvc is overseen by kenwood . Regardless all companies have their duds , just research and read reviews . Most aftermarket head units have 2 runs of rcas but really if you're only going to have one amp powering the woofers you only need 1
I connected all the wires to color code but there doesn’t seem to be any power to the stereo I already checked all the fuses and everything is ok. Do the wires on on both ends need to be a certain length for it connect properly?
Does this radio have a fuse inside it that can blow I have the same radio but does not want to power up the car one was blown but am not sure if it has ine
Did you have any trouble install a headunit in the impala? I want to put a new radio in mine but I heard it's a big hassle being there's a computer in the stock ratio that controls certain functions of the car.
***** Schosche makes a kit that will give you the ability to keep all your sounds. I have an 04 monte carlo which is basically the same car except two less doors. It is basically the same thing exo did as far as connecting wires. now there will be a box there as well.
Hey EXO! I'm about to buy a car, Peugeot 206 2.0, and i am thinking of buying the: NVX VCW154 15inch, but should i get Dual 4 Ohms or Dual 2 Ohms? And what about the NVX subwoofer can you recommend them? If so what Amplifier do you think i should get? thanks!
It will reset itself if you have it playing cds and if you plug in your usb device such as your iPhone at the same time because the head unit will shut itself off and turn itself on over and over and this only seems to happen when you plug in your USB device such as your iPhone while the source is set to cd and while a cd is playing hmm I really don't like it because I would go with something name brand like a pioneer or a eclipse or a kenwood head unit because those have no issues and sound great at higher volumes I think it's the alpine head units that get loud and have no problems whatsoever
I honestly hate the jvc kd-sr72 head unit because it resets itself if you play any song with really low frequencies I wish I had something like a eclipse head unit or a sony head unit because the jvc kd-sr72 has a lot of problems that jvc didn't even bother fixing
PLEASE HELP!, MY CAR STEREO JVC, suddenly doesn't let me control it. when i start my car on, the stereo itself turns on and play a cd (last use mode) controls don't respond at all, not even to eject the cd. i have a 'reset' and unplug my battery as well but still doing the same thing (starts play cd automatically), shows blue colors in screen waiting for setup (same when it was new) but can't control anything. Please help!!!! how can i fixed it. (its not broken, i have had it for 7 years and never had a problem bedore) Thank you very much!!!!
Hmm, these types of things are wlays hard to troubleshoot without being there personally. Have you tried tapping / fiddling with the ribbon connection that wires the face plate to the chassis? Sometimes the connections can get spotty and crappy.
Hi!!!!!!! Thank you very much for writing me. I finally fixed last weekend (saturday). This is what i did. I went to 3 dif Junk yards (cars) and i look for only the faceplate of my model (i took my original) and i compare to one very similar to mine, i took the risk, paid 5 dollars and i was so happy, it worked!, the menu and the faceplate change a little bit, for example mine has at front aux in audio for jackphone conector (i used to put my ipod on it) and the used one doesn't have it, but it comes with a usb connector, i tried to put my ipod but doesn't work (or maybe i don't know how to set it up) But works perfectly, cd and radio and even my remote control works too!!!!. Thank you Thank you very much for your advice bro!!!!
I wish I could put one in on my new Mazda3, 2017, since they pulled the CD deck and all I have is the media Bluetooth screen thing. Which really pissed me off. You can run media players via BT or the auxillary input, but it's annoying. And a portable CD will bounce around the car unless you secure it. A car stereo guy told me there's no kit being made, and there's no room in the Mazda3s now to put in an aftermarket CD deck. Which blows. You'd have to pull the installed one, and install an entire new media center with a CD player, and presumably upgrade your amp and subs and things because, why wouldn't you? But I'm leasing.
I have watched most all yiur videos and enjoyed them until this one when you said you bought the deck from walmart. Its people like you and your followers that are forsing the brick and morter stereo shops to close by buying junk crap stuff from walmart and/or the internet. Remember where this industry came from
gotshirts2ink I live in Maine man... There is only one real audio shop here, and it's 40 minutes from my house... If anything, it's people like me that help support this hobby by spreading the joy of it. I've received thousands and thousands of messages from people thanking me, saying how if it wasn't for watching EXO, they wouldn't even have a system. I'm proud of what I do :)
sorry that some people like you cant afford high end car audio ! it all works the same no matter where you buy. jus some stuff is cheaper then others !!! i got high end car audio an running my system with a walmart radio. who cares dude. car audio will always be around soo quit hating !
Hless421 i know man, they charge prices like radioshack (double) then wonder why they go bankrupt. i prefer ordering online, don't even have to deal with people.
I couldn't help but laugh when he was asking questions and you were just like "...no" lol
That's a cool stereo I've had a jvc in my 99 ford explorer for like 4 years and hasn't gave me a problem besides the remote battery dieing.

Good looking work my friend. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see the blow through build!

Cool, i missed all you simple starter car audio video, its nice to see you doing some things that mortals can do.
Nice install vid
“You can’t mess this up unless your color blind” 😂😂😂
Hahaha lol "can't mess this up unless your colorblind" thanks EXO... I'm colorblind and don't get my wires mixed up
Always preferred Kenwood or Pioneer Headunits myself. Always had bad luck with Jvc.
Sweet action Exo that's looking great you could've chosen a better different head unit for the Ford F-150 blow through
*****exo brother I just put in the Bluetooth version and it's got all the bells and whistles and I love it. It made a difference in my sound. Awesome video brother
Probably not for $60 just saying
Mime wasn't 60 dollars but it's not always the big dollar c.d. players that put out Watts. Mine cost 109 and I'm impressed with the quality of it and it made my vocals sound better too . I had a Kenwood double din in before. Jvc makes great product
I just bought the same head unit here in PA for $64 and tax I absolutely love it
all the stuff you need to buy, might as well take it to a shop to have a pro install it
Lol there's nothing like getting asked stupid questions in the middle of an install.
gotta learn some way haha
+dbackfan94 lol true

that ford looks great for the age, i just got rid of my f150 for a subaru lol mine had over 300k miles and was rusted to pieces
Wow, that's impressive man!
Camera man comming through with the wicked maine accent haha...awesome video
Nice, I kinda miss messing with aftermarket stereos, I bought a brand new car so I have no reason to put in one... at least right now :D
This build is going to be interesting
Thanks! Great video! Helped me a ton.
Much appreciated and good luck with your vids 👍
How did you connect the wires together? Did you crimp them or did you use a soldering iron? And if you did a soldering job, could I possibly use the crimp method instead? Because I don't trust myself with any soldering jobs.
Did you guys just install a new head unit, or did you do subwoofer as well? That sounds REALLY good in my opinion.
lol, so its powered off the back speaker? EXO "NO" lol
Love watching your build vids hope to see more soon!!
Marco Fiore thanks for watching man!!
Nice exo always making good videos.
Great video keep it can't wait for the blow through
Is it just me or does the guy behind the camera sound alot like the "You Like Bass Too" Guy from a year or two ago??? Another Good Video EXO
Billy Bretzinger My guess is the guy behind the camera is EXo's Dad?
Billy Bretzinger I was wondering that to.
That's cool ur dad let u put that system in his truck ...I saw the vid where u did ur sisters car too...thats cool ur family backs u in wut u love
Great job makes it look simple enough for an amateur like me.
hey you trimmed your winter fur ,probably (?) be cooller for summer
2 volt pre outs on this deck? whiy not go with one with 4 volt preouts
J Hutch22 Its obvious he didn't want to spend over 200 bucks for a head unit.
Is it
J Hutch22
Most head units under 200 bucks have 2.5volt preouts.
MazdaBass971 actually no 2 volt and you can still find ones with 4 volt pre outs for under 200..plus i was not asking you guy...thanks
Doh
I like having control of stuff and stuff
love your videos man!
Thanks you so much exo my entire head unit was stolen from my truck and now I'll have to buy the whole thing off of ebay or something. Oh and Do you recommend I go with jvc or kenwood?
Oh and I will also be putting 2 12s in so would I get single output or double? Could anyone tell me.
Might be a lil late but from my understanding jvc is overseen by kenwood . Regardless all companies have their duds , just research and read reviews . Most aftermarket head units have 2 runs of rcas but really if you're only going to have one amp powering the woofers you only need 1
I had 2 kenwood decks break on me
My JVC is on 5 years, working great. I kinda gave up on Kenwood which is unfortunate. I love the way they look.
I connected all the wires to color code but there doesn’t seem to be any power to the stereo I already checked all the fuses and everything is ok. Do the wires on on both ends need to be a certain length for it connect properly?
Where do you guys get the antenna for the Radio??! Lmk cuz only thing to connect to radio
Very Good Job, and good video You Rock Man
Does this radio have a fuse inside it that can blow
I have the same radio but does not want to power up the car one was blown but am not sure if it has ine

Thanks. I'll give it a shot
I wonder... Could subwoofers hit so hard that it sets the airbags off?....
Great video keep it up exo
Nice....is that your dads truck?
What did you do with all the pieces for installation kit?
do you need a antenna adapter for aftermarket head units?
Hey EXO! I'm about to buy a car, Peugeot 206 2.0, and i am thinking of buying the: NVX VCW154 15inch, but should i get Dual 4 Ohms or Dual 2 Ohms? And what about the NVX subwoofer can you recommend them? If so what Amplifier do you think i should get? thanks!
What is the blue and yellow one for
It will reset itself if you have it playing cds and if you plug in your usb device such as your iPhone at the same time because the head unit will shut itself off and turn itself on over and over and this only seems to happen when you plug in your USB device such as your iPhone while the source is set to cd and while a cd is playing hmm I really don't like it because I would go with something name brand like a pioneer or a eclipse or a kenwood head unit because those have no issues and sound great at higher volumes I think it's the alpine head units that get loud and have no problems whatsoever
I've read the instruction but man I can't figure out how to make the presets work for sirius
Exo big fan of u hoping we can meet sometime or get some info of how we can talk
I just buy this receive jvc do you recommend? I go install tomorrow Friday
what would you set the sub output lvl at +10? and have bass at 0?
Do you need to plug the antenna in for it to power on
Nope, that's only if you use the radio.
good stuff man
I have the same CD player in my 89 camaro
Great video I appreciate all the hard work that goes into it keep them coming please
Very good job 😃👍
What does din mean I'm new to this kinda stuff

I honestly hate the jvc kd-sr72 head unit because it resets itself if you play any song with really low frequencies I wish I had something like a eclipse head unit or a sony head unit because the jvc kd-sr72 has a lot of problems that jvc didn't even bother fixing
Can it fit in xcent

I bought that unit for my wife and it has horrible audio quality! Hope you have a better experience buddy
snooketcher volume 48, no distortion, 2.5v output, pretty decent to me!
my wires were never color coated.
JVC kd-x355
nice cd player jvc kd-r370 mp3
Awesome!
