Thank you, JP. I am a 15 year old wiring noobie, your video inspired me to stop being scared and wire up a radio in my 1990 Chevy C1500. Sure enough, IT WORKED!
Tuuuuuuuuurn up bruh great job man thats im here for.🤜🏾🤛🏾💯💯💯💯
That the exact truck I’m going to try to install some
I am in the exact same boat just wiring it into a car instead… so stressful
Jeez spent 3 hours researching how to do this and yet I come across you and show me everything in 6 minutes. Thank you!
He’s so perfect
I spent years
Thank you!
"solder is actually the best connection you can get, ever, in life" 😂😂 made me chuckle. wise words my man. Great video.
If soldering is the best way to connect wires maybe you can answer this question, Why don’t you see wires soldered together from the factory? How come you do not see solder joints on race cars! Unfortunately a lot of people do not know what they are doing when it comes to soldering, What usually ends up happening is people tend to leave excess flux on the wires and eventually it starts to corrode the wires!
@@NeverEnoughPyro40 At the factory they are making cables to length with connectors on each end. If there isn't a connector it IS soldered somewhere. I'm not sure what you're struggling to understand.
Solder joints on race cars? What are you talking about?
@@NeverEnoughPyro40h
lmao
If only I could solder things in my life for better connections, that would be awesome
I spent a whole day researching different videos on youtube before finding this one. and this one was the most helpful. thank you so much! great job
Thank you very much for watching
Exactly what I said to myselfbefore I even saw this comment 🎺 on point.
The most useful aftermarket wiring video on TH-cam.
Absolute life-saver. Thanks man!
No power unless I connect 12 volt yellow and àcc red wire together.. then stays on after key is off... I'm lost here
Very very very well explained! I'm a ET by trade but have never done a radio. You explained this so intelligently and thoroughly! Well done!

It was pretty straight forward for me to do, but watching this video is a really good way to get a quick overview of what to do. Good video
This was the most helpful video very straight forward and informative, I honestly thought the stereo harness in the car had to be cut and wired with the new one in the after market stereo I didn’t know about the aftermarket connector , this made it really simple honestly I’m confident in getting this done now ! Thanks
So glad it helped you bruh. I love comments like this 🤜🏾🤛🏾💯💯
I mean you can still wire directly after testing wires but yes harnesses make it easier 👍
haha bro same gonna try it out get my stereo on Thursday hopefully easy install just got my set of kicker speakers and the install was literally plug and play from Crutchfield
😂mkkl
6 years old and this video is still so so so helpful, thank you
Perfect explanation, couldn't be more thankful! I looked everywhere for a video like this. Will definitely pull you back up when I'm ready for the install 👍🏽
Thanks. I'm glad i can help. I am currently building a course going in much more detail. Coming Soon at www.jpsaudio.com stay tuned for it‼️
You are a legend bro!! Me & my wife just installed my stereo into my Jeep Cherokee 🎉 thank you from Brisbane Australia
This is a very useful video. The way you explain the wires is perfect.
I came to the comments just to see if everybody felt the way i did. Good job bro!! 💯
I appreciate that 💯💯
This is the best video on TH-cam i ever watched. I understood everything 1st time. You explained everything so well
12 wires. Doesn't get much simpler than that.
Thank you JP, you make it look like a piece of cake. I'm planning on soldering my connections and using shrink wrap over each one. And then use the cloth tape and wrap the whole package up.
Thank you for this lesson..you answered questions I had..thank you again..😃👍
Thank you, I have a DC house and really didn't get it. Your explanation made me see the simplicity of the wiring. Now I have a good new house radio. It's mounted under a solid bookshelf at a convenient height.
Great video. Question. Where you say the red wire if ignit
thank god I watched this. I modify guitars and make keyboards for PC's as a hobby and enjoy soldering. I'll just solder all of my connections when I get a new radio. Thank you for making this video!
Thanks to this video I'll have my radio installed without having to pay someone. Appreciate it
No problem
Bro I don’t know nothing about radios!!! But after watching your videos you saved me $300 😅😅😅 thanks!!!
I had to come back and comment. Thank you so freaking much! This was my first time putting my own aftermarket radio in and came across your video and watched it and really did it! It took about maybe 40 mins really just from me being really really slow and careful about everything and coming back to rewatch your video. I'm also another girl who you really helped out with this. I was so scared! Lol. Thanks again! Have a blessed day.
Definitely the best explained and described video on this subject on TH-cam ! Been 2 days and I finally found you bro . Thank you !
AAAAAAYEEEE TURN UP...LOL 💯Glad it helped!
Straightforward and concise, good video man. Thanks.
Very easy to do after watching this video, God bless you, thank you so much 🙏🙏

Man I was have an issue with my stereo , I was seeing wire connection on my stereo , I didn’t know why until I saw this video . I was able to figure out my actual speaker connector was touching metal thanks; this guy knows what he is talking about.

BOOM!! An hour of searching and THE last wires to connect.
Blue to blue / white?!
I wasn’t sure and looked for ages for that answer!
Yes when in doubt connect all the blues...lol
JPtheinstallguy
That wasn’t mentality <
Then I started to second guess my choice.
I still haven’t decided to install yet.
But what if u want to hook up a aftermarket amplifier
MRBLANKET545
Ughhh. No idea..... I ran the power antenna line to give the amp power and it worked!
Apart from that. It’s hard to say as I can’t see what wires / wiring is needed.
:-/

Good word brother!!!! I’ve hooked up a few radios in my vehicles. Just bought a harness and hooked them up color does color. So I never knew really what was what. Learn something new every day. Never knew the speaker polarity until today. (Solid and solid/stripe).
There you go glad I could help💯💯
i have been trying to figure out why when the stereo turned on i got no sound for two days searched 20 or so videos and this was the first one that explained the wires properly
Loved the video. Simple and to the point. 👍 Thanks.

Thanks bro that helped me put a new radio in my Toyota. The last person that put a radio in this truck had it all messed up and the helped alot
I'm almost at the finish line bro...I gotta red Accessory wire on my new stereo harness but not one on my old harnesses. How do I connect it?
Same here
@@ainsofar I connected mine to my AC power wire. Worked fine every since I did it.
wow thank you so much. this is seriously so much easier than i thought it was.
Just what I needed for my project. Thanks!!
Very nice descriptions honestly i, or we, appreciate it
I appreciate that!
So I am installing an aftermarket stereo in my car and I have connected all the same color wires between the two harnesses but there is a blue wire on one of the harnesses that does not have a matching wire on the other harness. My understanding is that this blue wire is for a power antenna... I don't have a power antenna. Should I just tape off the end of the wire and leave it unconnected? Thx for any advice!
Yup...just tape it since it's not necessary.
Exactly what i was looking for , other videos useless
Thanks I'm glad the video helped
Love the simplicity of this video
Thanks man this helped a lot I watched as I put one in it in works like a charm
Glad I could help

Thanks man I'm just trying to help some people out....thanks for watching
Hi, ty. Do i connect the blue with white stripe and the solid blue together and then also twist the blue remote wire that came with my amp kit to connect my amp?

Im soory my english is not very good but I didn’t understand where the red cable that is not in the harness goes. I have the same issue with a 2003 toyota matrix. So far this is the only video that I have seen talking about that

Great info. I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado with a pioneer deck. Trying to bypass the parking brake feature but haven't had any success
I got you homie check this vid I did a few months ago. Hope it helps
th-cam.com/video/PMVJVQxodtk/w-d-xo.html how to bypass the e brake
U said alot times the red and yellow will be connected to the module. Well that's how my toyota solara is. If I run my Stereos harness to those wires will I also have to run the other red and yellow from the speaker harness? Hope u understand question lol.
Thank you, I recently pawned my Kenwood Deck with King ISO'S album GET WELL SOON in it by accident (smh) and had to cut the harness to be able to pawn it (new job broken jeep, had to get by lol) thank you so much
Thank you for taking your time to make this video!!!! Very helpful
Anytime. Thanks for watching
Great video...but my question is....I only have 2 speakers (super little car....Kewet El Jet 2). Should I connect the fronts to the backs....meaning I'd get 100W to the speaker ????
Thanks for showing how you crimp the butt connectors; seems easy enough but I like to see it first before I do it wrong! The black tape...is that just electrical tape you use, or different? Planning my new stereo install this weekend. Thanks again 🙏
It's Tesa Tape. Electrical tape but made of cloth. Less messy than regular electrical tape.
you saved me some bread appreciate it
anytime thanks for watching
