I have been hooking stereo equipment up for 30 years and this is the first time I've come across this , went to hook up a Kenwood radio in my son's explorer and this definitely helped out thank you so much.
I know I’m a year late but I was racking my brain for about two hours getting all kinds of mad this made everything work perfectly thank you very much what a pain in the ass never thought that little blue wire would come in handy you are the man
Hey man, cool video... but just FYI, Power Antenna (blue) and Remote (blue white) are both just 12v outputs. If your radio harness doesn't have one or the other, it would be preferable to hook both the vehicle harnesses blue & blue white to the radios single blue wire. The only difference from what you recommend here is that the red, 12v acc, is an input to the radio. So if the fuse blew on the radio, the amp would still get power, and that is not ideal.
Long and drawn out BUT you explained it well. You taught the logic and reasoning behind it and that is great for those that enjoy extra info such as I. Thank you.
Thanks rewired, tested fuses and then decided to look on the TH-cam and found what you did. Man that took care of the problem. Thanks great job on the video.

Thank you so much! This fixed our issue of having radio power but no sound. In my case we were upgrading my brother's 2001 Pontiac Grand Am with a Pioneer AVH-X2800BS. The Axxess LC-GMRC-01 adapter kit we used didn't say anything about needing to power the the blue/white wire, but in reviewing the car's pin diagram, sure enough this controlled the car amplifier. Don't know how were would have figured that out without your video.
Ater skipping this one step, I ended up hooking the blue/white stripe wire from the new radio harness to the blue wire from the factory adapter harness and it worked. Thanks for the help...!

I was getting 50% success with having sound on my C6 with the PAC interface. Strangely if I opened the door when it didn't work, it would immediately start working. I tried this solution and so far a dozen startups and it's working every single time.
I just put a new head unit in a 06 nissan armada and had the same problem. Now they had several different solutions that were more difficult and extreme! This was amazing and I wish I would of found this before buying several different plugs lol thank you!
Brad Martin, this fixed your issue? I've got an 06 Frontier. I'm on my 4th head unit now. I thought I had wires touching and blowing the channels out of my deck.. I replaced all 4 door speakers and added an amp and 2 12's. Ive pulled the door speakers 3 times to check the wiring. In about to sell my truck its so frustrating

Thank you for your video, I was ready to give up and return a radio that work fantastic with the only problem of not sound. The blue and white wire connected to the red wire solved the problem!!
Thanks again!
My man, 4 hours. 4 f*ckin hours I've been searching for this solution! I knew the problem was due to my factory amp but for some reason just hooking the factory power amp wire to a relay power cable never once crossed my mind. YOU SIR ARE A FUCKIN GOD
On a side note: if you're married or dating then you tell you significant other to give you some dome bc you earned that shit. You can tell her/him (2020 who knows anymore) Aaron Cupp said so damn it!
Glad it helped. I'm single :(
😂😂😂 iktr
Brah! This is gold...i wish i would have seen this before paying $300 bucks. Thanks man.
I TRIED THIS I THINK MY RADIO MIGHT BE BAD BUT IT COMES ON I HERE A POP SOUND FROM THE SPEAKER THEN IT GETS HOT NO VOLUME😪 AT THIS POINT I FEEL LIKE GIVING UP CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE
SAME 😭
Same reason I'm here.
You’re the man!!! Thank you 🙏
Ater skipping this one step, I ended up hooking the blue/white stripe wire from the new radio harness to the blue wire from the factory adapter harness and it worked. Thanks for the help...!
Thanks bruh. I had same issue
Many thanks!!!! Wished I had known this 6 hours ago. So many videos watched, and when I found yours. 30 secs after you said Blue / White splice with red. Sound was working, and daughter happy as a rabbit in a brior patch
thank you!! i love you dude! jaja lol.... i was getting crazy!
I have no experience with connecting radios but this video has some great information thanks for the upload!
Thank you thank you thank you! I triple checked all my wires, multiple web sites, and nothing mentioned this! I have a 2005 Chevy Tahoe, and this was the issue! Thank you so much for sharing! I've been trying for 2 days to figure it out!
Same issue 2003 350z with no sound from speakers. Ur trick worked like a charm. Thanks!
Trying this out now...holy crap...if it works...
...fixed!!!
Yoooooo....this guy is a life saver. Thank you!
This saved me from returning a new stereo. Thank you SO MUCH!!
Thank you!
Wish we would have found your video 5 hours ago.
Regardless, the 97 Explorer is now sporting a new aftermarket radio thanks to your video.

Mate three months dealing with overseas peeps you solved my issue in minutes.
Helps if harness wiring was correct cheers be well
thank you. this solved my problem and lowered my blood pressure.
I should have looked this up for my FORD but I didn't take the time. But I did for my JEEP and it worked. So no rerunning new speaker wire for this install. Thank so much.
Haha, like the others...you saved my tail on a cheapo Sjoybring radio/camera replacement on my '07 Lincoln. There is now Sjoy in my life. Many thanks!
All the videos on TH-cam and you are the only one who helped fix my stereo. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!
THIS 100% WORKED me and my cousin were stumped not sure what was going on, I was so close to just say screw it, throw it away, and buy a new $300 one you saved me so much money Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou!!!
you are welcome :)
This video is the best and most simple that Ive seen on line. Being a female, Im gonna attempt to install a new stereo in my 02 Jeep Wrangler. Ive has this Stereo forever but couldnt figure out the amp issue, watched many videos and still couldnt get it. Your video was simple and allowed me to finally hook up a much needed radio. Thanks so much, I see this was done 2 years or so ago. But am still wondering why the hookup yo the sub has 4 wires on it, and thats coming out the harness, if your still on here, hope you can answer this for me. Next venture with my Jeep, is all new speakers and sub etc etc.... anyway, thanks and video was perfect.
You saved me dude! This was the issue with my 2004 Infiniti g35. Already a pain to install I was almost crying when there was no sound. Thank you so much!
Lmaoooo that’s how I felt 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
FINALLY!!! The problem solved. The reason I waited 4 years to install was troubleshooting this one. It’s my older expedition
Thank u for the video it worked for a 2006 audi A3! This video was way more help than technical support!
