@@SaltSpirits if you only use a 24 inch monitor there is nothing to do. If you use an ultrawide your speaker placement is off then compared with the distance of the triangle and sound bounces off the back of the monitor.

@@SaltSpiritsfor music production, verticality makes actually more sense and makes it more confortable. Its the exception, for any other task, horizontal is better
I like stacked because it allows me to focus on the bottom monitor with less peripheral distractions. Also, its healthy to look up from time to time, otherwise we are all fucked from looking straight down at our phones all day
That's actually a really good point about the peripheral distracting. It's definitely more that solo monitor productivity feel, but when I'm working in Premiere or Unreal I'm needing files so often something off to the side would just be nice again haha
how if they are completely different types of monitors? For instance I use an OLED utrawide, and a VA ultrawide side by side, no chance they will ever be color calibrated together and no way I would want that either
This is by far the best screen configuration but you need to use ultra wide 21/9 screens, lower the bottom one and tilt it back 15 degrees, lower the top one and tilt it forward 15 degrees too. Nothing beats this configuration, WAY more desktop real estate and a contained price, love it so much. And no neck breaking !
It works great for my set up. My desk is only 48 inches wide and I already had a 32 inch curved monitor on it with two studio speakers on either side. So my only option for an extra monitor would be a new desk or to go vertical, and that is what I did. Stacked a 27 inch monitor on top. What really pulls them together though is to find a wallpaper that can span both the top and bottom screen nicely.
It didn't take long for Reach to fall: our enemy was ruthless. Efficient. But they weren't nearly fast enough. For you had already passed the torch. And because of you, we found Halo, unlocked its secrets, shattered our enemy's resolve. Our victory - your victory - was so close, I wish you could have lived to see it. But you belong to Reach. Your body, your armor - all burned and turned to glass. Everything… except your courage. That, you gave to us. And with it, we can rebuild.
Honestly I kinda miss my vertical mounted monitors. Love my horizontal desk mount, but damn it was convenient. It makes the setup look more compact and neat.
I like stacked for space and music production reasons. Also with monitors side by side it’s usually optional to be looking at a monitor dead on especially if you’re a digital artist. You can buy monitor arms that let you have the best of both worlds.
Stacked > side by side. Thats how my setup is and i love it so much just having to pear my head up alightly to watch a movie or something instead of moving my whole head to the side.
I’m going for the hunter’s argument- you won’t have much neck strain having to turn your head side to side but if you have to tilt your head up to see something… you’ll start to feel the strain a bit. We’re hunters at heart- evolved to track and survey landscapes- it’s only recent in our evolution that we’ve started to need to incline our heads upwards so much. So yeah- horizontal is better
I haven't mounted the external monitor. I had a small stepper on which I keep the monitor. So when my laptop is open the monitor is visible behind it and on top of my laptop screen. Easy Peasy setup honestly.
I'm tall, so this setup is just perfect for me: primary monitor on the top at about eye level and secondary one at the bottom. Definitely less strain on my neck and helped me keep a better posture.
If we're talking production of something including streaming this is great. As a nobody I'd rather them side by side and rearrange my desk for that. I want both monitors at a comfortable level to look at for long periods of time.
Your set up is good for watching movies or stuff because I like to lean back on my chair when I watch some movies on my pc and Everytime I do that, I have to tilted my monitor down and get something to raise it up little bit, its pain in the a$$. Maybe I will do your set up when I get to buy a second monitor. Or maybe I just buy a aftermarket stand that easily adjustable. you know what, that sounds cheaper.
Only time I ever feel like having a monitor below another monitor is if it’s a smaller portable monitor other than that normal Monitors should be side by side or if you’re able to get a ultra wide 21:9 monitor!
I currently have a 3 monitor set-up. 1 ultrawide in the middle abd two 37 inch on each side. It's clean, symmetrical and i can flip one vertical for work (software dev)
I always stack, pen display on the bottom, and reference monitor above... ... ...and a vertical monitor each side (one of them used for social and Slack for work)
Triangles create visual balance, with the monitors as they are and something else try to make the rough shape of a Triangle and see if it helps with the balance
I’m building a new pc and getting new monitors. I’m definitely doing a stacked setup but my choice is a curved monitor for the bottom and a regular one for the top
2nd monitor in portrait on the left is perfect for me. Side by side landscape I have to turn my head uncomfortably to the left to view the 2nd monitor. Or turn. Portrait I can half turn my neck which doesn't stress it. Also the programs I run while gaming like discord , web Brower etc look great in portrait.
I have a similar setup except I have an ultra wide 34in on the bottom with 3440x1440. Wide on the bottom and narrow on top. Widescreen game on the main screen with TH-cam on the top.
So I have this and it works so much better with a 21:9 34" or bigger monitors. I have my Polk TSI200 in line with the top monitor and a 27" 16:9 monitor to the right of the bottom 21:9 monitor. With a 21:9 monitor having to windows open and side snapped looks SO MUCH better that on a 16:9 and if you have a 31:9 it's like having to full 16:9 monitors on one screen.
Stacked is soo good for music production if you have speakers on the side
not any better than horizontal tbh

Nice halo reach wallpaper 🔥
That's what I thought it was

Stacked is so nice cause it saves so much space for other things especially because I had a dual pc setup
Solution: get 2 more monitors.
Now you have a square 👍 😂

As someone who has neither, yes side by side is classic and clean
The verticality is fighting the horizontal nature of human eyes.
We read left to right and not vertically. That’s why horizontal layouts work. Not because the tables are long. 🙃
Bro who’s reading across two monitors??

Honestly, I would love to have stacked monitors. It feels like it would be easier for reading chat or messages while still being able to see the game
The halo reach desktop background, much respect
I have discovered the same setup. Laptop sitting in the base with an extra monitor on top and behind of laptop screen. The verticality is so good!

This set up is elite if you have an ultra wide on the bottom but like this is probably go side to side
that led tube under the footrest is genius, I’m copying that
It works if you position the monitors opposite of what it's aligned with now. Bottom angled, top aligned with the desk.
Everyone knows that side by side portrait is the best

If we're talking production of something including streaming this is great. As a nobody I'd rather them side by side and rearrange my desk for that. I want both monitors at a comfortable level to look at for long periods of time.
I think this layout looks good If the bottom monitor is bigger then the top but if you like it you keep it love the setup bro
Thanks homie! I do agree with that - the pyramid visual looks rad
this is my setup for 2 years now. its fine, saves space
For me i think vertical setup is good for, written works and coding while horizontal is good for photo and video editing and gaming
So beautiful setup plz make a video on your setup tour
All depends on the usage, i have a stack due to working from laptop and second monitor is above, helps with Hunch strain! 😎🙌🏽
how did you mount the top monitor?
I prefer horizontal visually but vertical meets my needs. At this point I’m used to it and I quite like it.

I mean stacking them like that…u can watch youtube and play video games. But side by side…when you quickly move your eye and head it hurts more.
The halo reach back ground is very cool
I have two 27" side by side, stacked atop a 49" G9. In my experience, stacking strains my neck.
Stacked ultrawides are the meta
I retract my previous statement. Stacked is good and I like it now mainly because space. But it looks weird without an ultra wide on the bottom
Ya let's break our neck looking up to game
I don’t game on the top monitor lol
It's not really comfortable really, I'd rather have my 2nd monitor side by side in a vertical orientation
the top one is the secondary the bottom is the main
No one games using the top monitor lol the top is just for secondary tasks
I’ve always been a fan of side by side and stacked. I currently have 27” center monitor, 27” right monitor, and a 55” top screen.
I used to have it the same way for quite some time. But finally ditch the TV and thrown Ultra Wide up top. Best decision I could’ve made.
I think that it would work better if the toolbar on the bottom of the screen on top is one thing that gets in the way
Only time I ever feel like having a monitor below another monitor is if it’s a smaller portable monitor other than that normal

That halo reach main menu wallpaper 🥵🥵
I always stack, pen display on the bottom, and reference monitor above... ... ...and a vertical monitor each side (one of them used for social and Slack for work)
would suggest third vertical monitor on your left, good for show off ur spotify playlist and etc
Stock a 3rd in portrait to the side to finish it out
Personally I want a 4 monitor setup 3 in a semicircle and a stacked monitor in the center
That's why I got the best of both worlds.
Triple 27 inch monitor in landscape and a 4th one above the middle monitor.
4 monitors, 1 main, 2 side, 1 on top
My neck says no but my desk says please
Exactly haha
Using X2 34" stacked. Top screen is for cameras in the house and music youtube vidéo or TV news. Bottom screen for work tasks.
My dream set up has two more horizontal monitors on each side going for a bat computer vibe
Triangles create visual balance, with the monitors as they are and something else try to make the rough shape of a Triangle and see if it helps with the balance
Good news DS and 3DS emulated games are perfect for that setup
As a developer i think the vertical arrangement makes more sense..
The fact that I see a different shape other than a T means I should take a break from the internet
Side by side portrait, reporting in
Great for small desks though. I've got 2 ultra wides and it's the only way to fit
Just stack a portrait monitor on the side of them the size of both vertical in portrait orientation.
it's more beautiful vertical, but it's also more painfull for my neck
I have a 24" on top my 29" ultrawide. Love it, but yeah, it has its perks 😅
Do you ever wonder why we built buildings up instead of digging down and reinforcing walls ?
Who else recognized the reach background?
Simply for posture reasons for me i have them side by side as then i can have both at eye level which is significantly more comfortable
No more bro, we love in the world of mixed reality.

I’m building a new pc and getting new monitors. I’m definitely doing a stacked setup but my choice is a curved monitor for the bottom and a regular one for the top

Liked the video because of the Halo Reach wallpaper 🥰
You should put them side to side and buy a 40-50 flat screen for the wall on top
That's why you gotta add a vertical 3rd on the side to balance it all out
Stacked is where it's at. Side by side is played out, takes up more space, and makes your main gaming monitor not center to your desk.
Honestly a nice tall plant to one side could bring some balance
Stacked is goat, tried everything
Nice lighting
The way the stood on the desk though 😆
