Which do you prefer? Our current original rating scale (bloody disgusting, not my cup of tea, UK-OK, etc) or a numeric scale from 1-10?? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
original, it's part of your brand and it works
Although if you want to make it a bit more British, change "Lovely" for "Lush." Trust me on this.
I like how we made this one ours .may could add some words but I like ours better.
@@KevPage-Witkicker noted, not super familiar with the term so thanks! 😁😁😁😁 Still lots to learn 😅😅😅😅
@@KevPage-Witkicker we've been contemplating a rating in between "Lovely" and "Oh My Days" for quite some time now...wonder if "Lush" could fill that gap? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
So I worked in the UK confectionery industry for a while. There's a reason why Flake, Ripple and areated chocolate like Aero and Wispa are so popular in the UK. It's to do with how the mouth detects chocolate as a flavour. By areating the chocolate you massively increase the surface area of the chocolate and because chocolate is a hard emulsion, only the surface interacts with your taste buds until the emulsion melts. So if you increase the surface area by areating, rippling or flaking the chocolate you front load the chocolste intensity at the point of bite, rather than with regular chocolate, where it has to be chewed and melted in the mouth to release the intensity of flavour.
This is also why areated and flaked chocolate is popular in the uk as a lower calorie option.. more inrense chocolate flavour for less actual chocolate
This man chocolates.🍫
Excellent
Also why you shouldn't generally keep chocolate in the fridge, you end up with much less melt in the mouth so much less flavour.
As someone from the UK I prefer Galaxy over Cadbury, but the Ripple is probably my all time favourite plain chocolate bar, I just find the crunchy layers so satisfying, plus the chocolate is super smooth
I'm English and agree, Galaxy tastes much nicer to me, creamier and doesn't have that weird synthetic taste Cadbury now seems to have. I'm sure the Cadbury chocolate recipe has changed since my younger days (I was born in 1970) and since Kraft took over it's even worse.
I'm with you on this. Galaxy all the way.
I prefer Cadbury over Galaxy!!
I like the cheap snickers copy you get at Lidl.
Next time you have a Ripple, put it in the freezer then eat it after an hour.
You can thank me later.
The top rating should be “ The Dogs Bollocks”
And the bottom rating should just be "bollocks"
The one day I go into the office, a large pack of Maltesers is my breakfast of choice. Breakfast of CHAMPIONS, with a lovely mug of tea..
I bet they would be lovely with tea!! 😁😁😁😁
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor
I am eating Maltesers right now (as a pre-dinner 'snack') - as I haven't eaten since aboooouuuut 6 a.m and am "peckish" - hungry for food - *Right Now* let alone wait for the _short-ish_ time it takes to 'airfry' haddock in batter,, potato wedges & baked beans!!😊❤🏴😏🇬🇧🖖
@@BLANKSnooneaskedforAny chocolate is lovely with tea
Bounty is a coconut-filled, chocolate-enrobed candy bar manufactured by Mars, Incorporated, introduced in 1951 in the United Kingdom and Canada. Bounty is the gourmet version of the American Mounds bar (Hershey's the puke chocolate). It has a soft coconut center that is covered with creamy milk chocolate. This product is made by Mars co. and is not marketed in the USA. The Fry's Chocolate Cream, produced by J. S. Fry & Sons since 1866, consisted of a plain fondant centre enrobed in plain chocolate. It is the first mass-produced chocolate bar and predates the invention of milk chocolate.
We keep hearing about this "puke" chocolate 🤣😂🤣😂
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor Hershey's added Butyric acid to milk which extended the shelf life of the milk and thus the chocolate, which when used in chocolate production adds the "puke" taste to the chocolate, this is the main reason Europeans don't like "standard" production US Chocolate.
As a Brit I don't like Bounty - because I'm not a fan of coconut. Maltesers and a Mars Bar however are DELICIOUS!!
Agreed and agreed!! 😁😁😁😁
Completely fine with the rating scale as it is. Though nobody outside of London says OMD and even then it's a certain demographic
Ohhhhh interesting, thanks for the info cause we had no idea 😅😅😅😅
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor It's old women and gays. That's the demographic.
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor OMD isn't in everyday use over here guys - maybe something as prosaic as WOW here.
The Ripple I say is folds of chocolate.
Great way to put it !
You have nailed it 👏👏👏👏
As a Brit I’m gunna say keep your original scoring system by maybe change your OMD for the dogs bollocks though. Regardless of that I’m loving your content👍
Thanks for the feedback!! 👍👍👍👍 Certainly haven't heard that phrase yet!!
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor The DBs is just about the highest rating imaginable 🙂
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor the dogs bollocks is a far more commonly used and relatable term for top tier items than oh my days
You need to eat the bounty alongside the US version to see that there is a difference. Namely, the chocolate around it is the same chocolate around the Maltesers, their solid bar version is Galaxy, far superior chocolate.
Ahhhh yeah you're probably right, side by side is always dead giveaway for comparisons! 👍👍👍👍
I prefer dark choc to milk on a Bounty, trouble is, with cocoa so expensive, it's hard to find...@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor
The galaxy ripple is the equivalent of the Cadbury twirl. As for the Mars bar, you need to slice it and then freeze it. Delicious
Noo! Don't freeze it 😢
A Mars is nothing like a milky way
The bloke on the left is looking very dapper. Nice.
The maltereesers are with honeycomb inside
Some people like having mars bars deep fried in batter. A lot of chip shops in Scotland/north of England fry lots of different things
Wow now that would definitely kick things up a notch! 😲😲😲😲
I believe i can fry !
Let’s fry some !
Some people - like the famous Mick Jagger - also like to eat a Mars Bar from a certain part of a ladies anatomy! No joke - check it out by Googling 'Mick Jagger and the Mars Bar'. 😂
It’s delish deep fried in batter. Sometimes I melt it in the microwave and eat it with ice cream
Galaxy ripple lovely
Yes we have milky ways for a very long time AS all our chocolates everything in UK is so good every big company buys it and transports it to the states
Makes sense, we're learning that we're missing out on a TON of really great sweets and snacks so not everything has made its way to the US market 😁😁😁😁
Our UK Mars bar is the same as your milky way bar in the USA.
Our milky way is like your 3 musketeers.
Your Mars bar is like our mars/your milky way, but with toasted almonds. It originally didn't have the caramel layer, but that was added at a later date. Over here it was called a Mars Almond.
Thanks for the clarification, it has us all kinds of confused 🤣😂🤣😂 Started questioning everything we thought we knew to be real 😆😆😆😆
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor
😅 Your "Dove" bar (chocolate?)
Is our 'Dove' bar ...(of toiletry hand soap) 😅😂😊❤ (very kind to the skin, and the whole range of Dove toiletries includes items like shampoos, & deodorants, etc suitable for "Mature" - older - people.😊)
@@brigidsingleton1596 Or anyone with crappy skin. Especially fat women, if their advertising is a hint.
My fave Choccy bar is a Double Decker. …better than OMD…you will need to rate it Brilliant 🤩
its my fave at the moment too
Your rating system is original and catchy, I'd say keep it as it is.
We appreciate the feedback, thanks! 👍👍👍👍 Always open to suggestions though!
I agree thx for the feedback 😉
Def keep as is.
@@Temeraire101 appreciate the feedback my friend! 👍🤙😁😎
In the UK they have iced versions of lots of the chocolate bars you have tried, they are next level good.
It's been years since I tried Ripple, I like a Twirl though which is very similar but made by Cadbury, they both remind me of a chocolate coated Flake, but as I remember the Ripple is softer and smoother, I'll have to pick one up next time at the store, hell I'll get a Twirl too so I can do a direct comparison, I do like Galaxy chocolate though.
Yeah we're going to do some product comparison taste tests sometime soon!! 😁😁😁😁
Also I meant to mention, a lot of the time you just take a bite and chomp away, in the UK we also have battles about how to eat chocolate bars! A bit of friendly banter anyway, I'll meticulously dissect a Mars bars which completely changes the experience, I'll nibble the chocolate off and take my time, also sucking all the chocolate off a Malteser and then letting the malt ball part dissolve in your mouth changes it too, I apologise for the multiple Double Entendre's in response btw! 🤣
@@markjones127 thanks for sharing, definitely open to trying things differently from time to time!! 👏👏👏👏 We definitely just kind of dive in and waste no time 🤣😂🤣😂
In fact it would be fun to see you guys do a reaction where you eat the same thing in multiple different ways!
@@markjones127 now there's an idea!! 💡🤘🇬🇧👍
Thanks for the shout out ❤
Love y’all legends !
Love you guys to the UK and back! ❤️😂🇬🇧🇺🇸
Always been a Galaxy Girl over cadburys myself.
Do you have a favorite kind of Galaxy??? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor Galaxy Ripple and Minstrels! Smoother and creamier chocolate IMO
You guys just earned your self a new subscriber. Sorry it took me so long to discover the channel. If you don't mind a newby saying I think your scoring system would be better on a numeric scale.
Heyyyyy welcome!! 😁😁😁😁 Glad to have you!! 👋👋👋👋 We don't mind at all!! We always want to appeal the the majority and welcome any and all feedback / suggestions so keep them coming!! We're still learning lots about the UK and enjoying every second of it! 😁😁😁😁
Welcome 😊
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor Yep, I subbed up after this one too. I like the genuine responses - which have all been considered before being made. More US TH-camrs would benefit from your "Engage brain before opening mouth" approach.
@@bushchat28d for better or worse, we've committed to always being genuine in our reactions 👍👍👍👍 If we like something, we'll tell you!! But we'll also tell you if we don't 🤣😂🤣😂 Thanks for the comment, we appreciate the feedback!!
We have a milkyway but it's just chocolate covered fluffy nougat. Used to be marketed as chocolate for kids back when i was a boy
no caramel in a UK Milky Way
I'm sure that in the USA Galaxy chocolate is named Dove. Not sure if it tastes the same though!
We'll have to do a head-to-head comparison! 🤔🤔🤔🤔
We do have Milky Way over here 🇬🇧.. but it isn't like a mars bar..it has light fluffy filling..it is lovely ! So it might be worth a try for you next time..Also Caramac..Terrys chocolate orange 🍊 ..frys Turkish Delight..and Wispa Gold..ENJOY..l prefer your scale than a boring 1 to 10..!!🇬🇧🍊🍫🍦🍩🍪🇺🇸
Goodness gracious, another taste test 😀 keep 'em coming guys.
Thanks Simon!! 😁😁😁😁 Having the time of our lives trying all of these new things we never knew existed!! 😅😅😅😅
If your local dealer sells them, I would suggest trying a Cadbury boost bar. If you haven't tried one already.
@@Simon-hz3vb they do have them!! We actually have one we'll try during a video in the coming weeks!! We'll be doing an elimination bracket pitting UK Cadbury products head to head to determine what (in our opinion) the best UK Cadbury product is!! 😁😁😁😁
I look forward to that episode. Have fun and take care guys.
Great video. I think you should keep your rating scale. A few ideas for you on other chocolate bars you must try - Crunchie, Double Decker, Twirl and Turkish Delight.
if you can get them try Biscuit Boost, Star Bar, Lion Bar and Picnic. My favourite chocolate bars.
Star bar!!! Oh my days I'm with u on that!
i like your rating scale, it’s really unique :)
Merry Christmas guys! Did Santa leave you these in your Christmas Stockings?
Merry Christmas John!!
We actually got coal from Santa (must have been the lack of tea with the Christmas biscuits we served him last week 🤣😂🤣😂)
I guess I should of kept it British and said "Father Christmas"...
@@johnhelwig8745 wait that's a thing?? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Yup, Father Christmas 🎅
Milky way and Mars bars side by side blindfolded you could say the difference 👍🏻🇬🇧🇺🇲
As for ratings, I think your ratings are great, as a UK citizen :)
Huge compliment, thank you so much for the feedback 😁😁😁😁
All the chocolate you have tried are owned by Mars Inc, they are the biggest chocolate retailer in Europe, i used to work for them as a confectionery consultant.
Very cool!! 😎😎😎😎
Yeah but the firebrigade had to cut them out of their office when they retired🙀😸
@@nikkihayes5411 I want to say that insult really came out of nowhere, but their profile picture _is_ a cat...
Sweet
In Scotland we cover the mars bar in batter and deep fry it very delicious
If you live in Scotland, they love Mars bars deep fried !!!!
Mark’s best impression of a sheep - “BARRRR” 😂😂
I like the way he said "I love whoppers too" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
If a UK mars bar is a US milky bar and a UK milky bar is a US 3 musketeers then what is a US mars bar?
To be honest, the whole thing makes our head spin 🤣😂🤣😂 Now we'll have to go to the store and get a US Mars bar and see if it's a UK Milky bar 😆😆😆😆
Maltesers and galaxy minstrels rule yum
UK milky way and Galaxy original and caremel are my favourite ad in America Galaxy is Dove
Thought that packaging looked similar 😁😁😁😁
Bounties are amazing if you batter and deep fry them
The Mars one is interesting because we have Milky Way here too 😂
Cadbury is better if you don't like over sweet chocolate. Galaxy is sweeter as it doesn't have as much cocoa solids.
Good to know, thanks! 😁😁😁😁
US Milkyway = UK Mars
US Three-musketeers = UK Milkyway
US Mars = Discontinued bar, that may have had nuts in it?
Thanks for simplifying the confusion 🤘😂🤣👍 The whole thing is quite hilarious to us 😆😆😆😆
I prefer your way of rating, it makes you unique and not like every other channel that tries different snacks.
Some say Galaxy is "waxy/oily" but to me dairy milk is a bit too "chalky" where as Galaxy in comparison for me is buttery smooth. I'm talking just a regular galaxy milk chocolate bar vs a dairy milk bar (not the ripple, although they are lovely too) 😁
From Wikipedia “The version of the Milky Way bar sold outside the United States has no caramel topping; it consists of a nougat centre that is considerably lighter than that of the British Mars bar and the American Milky Way bar. The global Milky Way bar is marketed in the United States as 3 Musketeers bar. Because of this low density (0.88 g/cm3), it floats in milk, an attribute highlighted in an advertising campaign in several European countries.”
I didn’t know it floats in milk, maybe I should try that out sometime..
Very interesting!!
I hope you guys get more subs ❤
Have you tried Thorntons? They have a selection of chocolate items and their toffee is wonderful.
Did you meet your FDA recommended minimum levels of food additives today?
More than likely 🤣😂🤣😂
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor I'm just taking tartrazine. I get lazy without it 😀
Need to try a double decker and a toffee crisp!
Nah keep this rating scale! It's cool. I always look forward to hearing the ratings. 😂 Loooovely lol.
Yes we do have a Milky Way bar and it’s completely different to all of those lol
Basically uk mars is like your milkyway, uk milkyway is like three musketeers
We've got Maltesers. They're called Whoppers. Bounty is Mounds and Mars is made by an American candy company 🇺🇸
Nope , don’t adopt them they are uk
Galaxy chocolate is the best.
There are some of these chocolate that are not best chewed abd swallowed.... With the Maltesers, let it sit in there for a few seconds, let the chocolate melt a little, give it a bite in half, then give it a kittle such ti get the malt flavor going, then chew up and finish. Galaxy is also amazing to suck on abd just let it melt into rich lushness in your mouth
1 to 10 would be better imho. I think that UK Cadbury has sugar in it, US Cadbury has corn syrup. Cadbury's went downhill since it got taken over by Kraft.
We in the UK dont really fit into the Ford or Holden consumer group.....we just shove it all in our gobs🧔🏻👍
My kind of eating! 🤣😂🤣😂
We do have milky ways in the uk
1 to 10 is boring stay as you are 😊
Thanks for the feedback, we appreciate it! 😁😁😁😁
A UK milky way is like a UK mars bar except without the caramel
Noted and noted!! 😁😁😁😁
The fluffy nougat is totally different though. It never used to be though until they changed it about twenty years ago.
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor The UK Milky Way is the lightest chocolate bar. It's really on a totally different end of the spectrum, the Mars is quite stodgy. Same basic idea though, chocolate covered noughat, just without the caramel, less chocolate and a _way_ lighter noughat.
Yes we have Milky Way chocolate covering a light whipped centre. Cadburys cannot be beaten.
Galaxy was nice years ago, but they changed the recipe.
Sounds like that happens a lot with the changing of recipes!
@@BLANKSnooneaskedfor
It's because the UK is being slowly & surely "Americanised" into the tasteless conglomeration of brands and abominations which you folks have been conned into accepting as "good" by the companies which run your
(once "great country") home in order to make as much profit as possible & who cares if your values, health & general well-being gets trampled enroute...
Sorry but I'm an old (70) English woman who speaks her mind. I enjoy watching Americans learn our British ways, lifestyles, language - the correct version - 😊 etc etc etc but I don't want Britain to follow it's trend...though, sadly & especially due to our current Tory government, we seem to be... Sadly likely (hopefully joking there!!) the 51st State of the USA... I'm an atheist so cannot say, please God nooooo!! But, you "catch my drift", I hope...though no offence is intended... I enjoy your videos of "Blanks No One Asked For" 😊 and hope my unrequested "mini rant" will not result in you blocking me...but that's your choice, if so...of course. Sorry... I seem to have "gotten" sidetracked along the way!!! (Safe Word/s: 'Rule_Britannia') 🤔🏴❤️😏🇬🇧😷🖖
Bear with me on this. I remember reading about the US remaking Red Dwarf. One person said it was really surreal like an alternative universe one of the reasons was because Milky Way and Mars bars were the wrong way round.
All candies, jelly's etc are in the UK "sweets".
Thanks, we weren't sure if "Chocolates" classified as a sub-category of "Sweets" or if it was in a genre all it's own 😅👍🤙🇬🇧
The US discontinued Mars bars in 2002 you guy's don't get them anymore Mars bars (UK) > American Milky way
Bounty dark chocolate is delish….
uk chocolate sent out to the us, it is a mars (your milky way) our milky way is the same as a mars without the caramel and a normal nougat instead of chocolate nougat and i believe they have to outsource to hersheys in america as our chocolate uses ingrediants you cant use and i think the bounty and mound is the same thing too
"British rating scale" is fine - simple straightforward & easy to understand! - on a slightly different topic, you may want to try reacting to the top 15 Irn Bru adverts or the best Marmite adverts available here on youtube - they would never be shown on US television & are British advertising at its most unhinged & funniest!
Thanks we appreciate!! 😁😁😁😁 And we'll add that to the list 😜😜😜😜
Tango adverts too
Your voting score is unique. Keep it!
Thanks for the feedback, greatly appreciated!! 😁😁😁😁
i think you should at a 1 to 10 rating on top of your rating system or percentage
Yeah that's an interesting concept!! 👍👍👍👍
Mars is an American company but Mars is British Mars is better chocolate than whooper or almond joy the Bounty is bigger. The problem is ameeican summers are too hot for British chocolate Mars and Milky way are very similar
A mars a day helps you work rest and play it’s not caramel it’s glucose
We do have Milky Way in UK but haven’t seen once for years
You should put chocolate in the fridge, it tastes so much better. With maltesers (and others) it makes it easier to eat the chocolate on the outside, then have the centre on its own.
Not sneakers though unless you want to break your teeth 😅😅😂😂
Try Cadburys dairy milk with daim in it, one of my favourites
It's "malt" you could taste 😂 in the malt eser
Worst Jason mraz impression ever 🤣
we have a Milky way which is like a Mars but with NO caramel
Galaxy uses milk powder and Cadbury uses real milk that is why I said galaxy’s a cheaper alternative
yes we do have milky way in the uk and it is nothing like the mars bar
It's caramel. You can tell by the spelling.
Malteasers….. us brits, nibble off the chocolate first, then suck the middle ……. Bloody perfect xxxx. Bounty is like marmite, love or hate, no in between… mars a day, helps you work, rest and play xxxxx. Bit sickly….best served well chilled. Mars also giggled over… ribbed for your pleasure xxxxxxx he he he. Galaxy ripple….. oh my lord gorgeous, much better than Cadbury … smooth xxxx
If u lay down flat put a malteser on your lips and blow u can suspend it in the air for as long as u blow 😂
Galaxy beats Cadbury.
Lindt beats Galaxy.
A Mars bar is nothing like a Milky Way.
The malt in these are honeycomb flavoured
In the UK we still have Milky way, and it tastes totally different to a Mars Bar. More caramel :)
there is no caramel in the Uk milky way lol
MOOO! Happy Boxing Day!
And a hearty MOOOOO to you too!! From "The Herd" 🐮🐮🐮🐮
You need one above omd, maybe the dogs bollocks lol
I like to make fun of malt, I’m a Malteser 😂😂😂
Maybe do a 0-10 scale that incorporates the original UK scale as well 0 could be bloody disgusting and 10 OMD with all the others in-between 1-3 not my cup of tea 4-6 UK ok and 7-9 lovely.
Just an idea
Mars bars make my fillings hurt, milky ways do not.
Galaxy Ripple chocolate is not the same chocolate as in a normal bar of Galaxy, the chocolate in a bar of Galaxy is smoother and creamier.
I worked there for nearly 30 years.
Oh wow, too cool!! Thanks for the info 😁😁😁😁
We have milky way in uk too, its different from mars.
