It's such a key point Juan, Surface laptops are built real nice. REAL NICE They also have great keyboards. I just wish they had given the Go 2 a backlit keyboard this time.
thank you i have been looking for a laptop for college and with so many laptops out there competing with each other it was truly hard to make a decision
Laptop Go 2 : 1536 x 1024 (148 PPI) 15.6" Laptop : 1920 x 1200 (145 PPI) The density of the pixels is measured in pixels per inch. PPI determines the physical size of each pixel. If both Laptop Go 2 and a 15.6" Laptop both roughly have 145 pixels per inch, does that mean if these two screens were to compared side by side, the FONT would be the same size on both displays? This is important for people who read lots of text and do word processing. Can you do a video to demonstrate this?
Man, I have to say you are by far the best video journalist on tech stuff, you said so many intelligent things on the development of Windows etc. Thanks! Please keep up the great work.
I have never been more in love with a PC laptop in this price point. The Surface Laptop Go 2 is very solid and portable. No bloatware and it just works. So much better than those cheap HP laptops.
The touchscreen at this price point is a very nice feature and the build overall feels like quality. You did a great review and talk about some nice details!
Amazing laptop, going to buy one for my mom and probably for my dad as well. I wish though that they had left the touch feature out, who on earth likes to cover their screen with finger grease I never understood, when there is a nice keyboard and large touchpad. Would have made the laptop even cheaper, now I have to pay for a feature that no normal person uses anyway.
On a little student machine, I kinda get it. Touchscreens are what people learn on now. I would have HAPPILY traded touch for a brighter screen and a backlit keyboard.
This is such a rad notebook I am excited to see what they do for developers. Lightweight laptops are great for web dev but windows CLI can be a headache
The biggest issue I have with this device is that I managed to pick up a Surface Laptop 4 (8GB RAM, 256GB ssd) for about 600 freedom dollars (converted) in my very expensive country. Barely used and sold directly from the store with full consumer guarantee rights (5 years). The Surface laptop 4 is so much better than the Laptop Go 2, so it's worth looking around to find one of those for cheap.
I have the Surface Go 3 tablet and love the display, sound, and build. As a techie I enjoy unlearning "Mostest Specs" and instead thinking about what I really do on a given device and finding something that is inexpensive, but not cheap. Perfect description of a Surface Go device.
That's a good move. Not everyone need "mostest spec". I see lots of people who own laptops and phones with "mostest spec" but only to see them do web browsing and document creation only.
Mine is only lasting about 4hrs. I don’t use it heavily just some typing and scheduling on browser. The fan starts after not long. I think I just got a weird one so I think I’m just gonna replace it with a new one and see if it works.
I used to be a DieHard windows fanboy. But now Chrome OS has my heart! The machines themselves may not be as powerful as other machines from other manufacturers, but you cannot argue with Chrome OS'S software and implementation of features! I just only recommend getting a core i7 or a core i9 because my Pixel slate from 2019 has a core i5. It gets the job done but a little bit more speed would be nice!
The Core i5 in the Pixelbook Go rocked my socks. It really is a brilliant platform. Windows 11 has some catching up to do, but in terms of lightweight, browser based, mobile computing, this is a HUGE step in the right direction.
hey juan i can get this at bestbuy openbox right now the 8gb ram 128 storage variant for 400 out the door is it still a good deal a yr later. Using it for online sales operator work.
i just dun understand why the industry lets makers get away with their own special connectors for charging, given how usb-c is able to charge laptops, all laptop makers shld be made to adopt this port for charging, no more buying expensive chargers just for this model or brand.
I wonder how Windows would fair if Microsoft released a version where back compatibility isn't a challenge Microsoft has to deal with. A windows version where they could start fresh. Btw, have you tried a windows on ARM laptop?
That's a solid point. Getting a couple more hours of run time will cost them about 60% more. Definitely makes the value proposition here a good pick for the right budget.
a solid machine indeed. my sister's been considering buying a new laptop for a bit now, i think that's a perfect match for her use! great video as always 🤍

I liked this review for showing what this laptop is actually capable of instead of talking about all the things it can’t do.
Hey there Juan. I have this same laptop and loving it. Works great for what I use it for. Great video my friend.
This was a really nice review to watch. Nice points and different insight compared to other reviewers.
This little machine looks amazing, I have been looking for a portable computer for a while and I think this is probably it.
I have one and I fell in love with the computer. Just fun to move around the house and use.
I am thinking of buying one. How is it for basic programming?

Wow high praise from you, impressive! I don't need a laptop but I want one :)

0:19 what kinda watch is that? 😮
I loved the size of this but I wish it has backlit keys and its a bit thicker for a larger battery.
I really like what Microsoft wants to do in the laptop division

It's so fun finding that right fit, and THEN seeing you can save some cash 😁

@@farishanafiah8461 me and the ipad Pro 2021 lmao

Built nice but with infinity wifi connection problems. I made big mistake with this purchase. Next time will know.
Love the quick "Better Off Dead" movie scene 🤣 That movie is hilarious!
That's a damn shame, when folks be throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that...
@@SomeGadgetGuy 🤣🤣🤣 I've seen that movie at least 6x over time. "I want my $2 !!!"
6:22 Is that the NexDock 360 and UPERFECT X lapdock on the background?
Yup
is that a Thunderbolt on the side?
Juan, do you have heating issues when shooting video and photos with the Xperia IV? Some reviewers are stating this is a issue

sooooo frustrating the keyboard not being backlid, I'd gradly pay extra $20, cheap MS
Cool! It hides the speakers in the keyboard. That's smart!
It's real clever, and works surprisingly well 👍
10:44 lmao Since windows 11 came out, I always thought "thank god, that perfect to use audio menu still hasn't had a redesign" 😂
LOL yeah...
A great review
Does the charger come with it
Yup.
Surface go 3 for student and a good harddrive
The fact they even sell a 4gb version is out right offensive.
720p display?
I think so
is this a touchscreen?
yes

loved it

You can buy an Air used for 100$ more 👀
Can I replace the hard drive and upgrade to a 500gb
It's not a hard drive.
Great netbook! Jk 😉 🤣
actually looks pretty compelling
I have an important question, can i play the sims on it???
Not important.
I would have seriously considered this, but the screen is a no, no
laptop Go 2 is now $749cnd 256 8G New. Bestbuy canada and Microsoft canada
a solid machine indeed.
