Ford and their 3 bolt starters. I'll bet there are a few running around with two bolts. A friend had an 84 F350 with a 6.9L diesel. I noticed that it was missing it's 3rd bolt.
I'm very familiar with the starters on the 4.6 and 5.4 but I haven't done any on this particular engine until this video. I also wasn't aware they've been doing it since at least the 80s. And I bet there are quite a lot that have 2 bolts for sure

PRO TIP: Remove the starter solenoid from both the old and new starter and make your like waaay easier

what should i do if i dont have as much clearense for that top bolt
Gotta find the perfect length extension. Those top bolts are a huge pain on all ford v8 starters
