Thanks for your vid! Something I don't fully understand is how these different connection types affect the actual operation of the drives. I have an iMac with 1TB internal SSD. I'm doing more video work now. My video files reside on that drive. I'm considering a 1TB external SSD that will connect to a Thunderbolt port. This drive will act as the scratch disk when working with video editing. Is there so much performance difference between a Thunderbolt and USB 3.2 SSD? I realize file copying is faster on the Thunderbolt.
When will usb4 be released? It should be soon right.

The host inferred that 3.2 gen 1, 2, and 2x2 all look the same; in that case he would be wrong.
USB 3.2 gen1 & gen2 are 12mm irreversible USB with blue lining. (but to tell specifically gen 1 or 2 you have to look at manufacturer packaging or manual.)
USB 3.2 2x2 is the new reversible USB C shape.
Is thunderbolt only on macs? Ive never seen it on pc before.

My laptop has usb 2 ports. I have a capture card that has a usb 3. Is there an adapter that I can buy to plug a usb 3 into my usb 2 port?

@@JoeWayne84 USB C is for nothing as it only fast charges phones, and phone batteries have a much shorter lifespan due to this fast charging as is the case with USB C,
