#USB
lmao they just changed the names (AGAIN).
USB 3.1 Gen 1 is now USB 3.2 Gen 1
USB 3.1 Gen 2 is now USB 3.2 Gen 2
Old names > New names
USB 3.0 --> USB 3.1 Gen 1 --> USB 3.2 Gen 1 [5 Gb/s]
USB 3.1 --> USB 3.1 Gen 2 --> USB 3.2 Gen 2 [10 Gb/s]
USB 3.2 --> USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 [20 Gb/s]
I just needed a quick briefing on this subject lol. thanks!!!
Your voice sounds like my friend Andi! you rock hehe!
Please help! I have an MSI Mag B550 Tomahawk motherboard which has 3.2 Gen 2 and the pc case I intend to buy is 3.0 Is this ok? Are these 2 compatible? Or will it hurt my system if it even fits at all?
They're compatible...
You will see speeds of usb 3.0,
But your motherboard can support speeds of usb 3.2 Gen 2
So basically you are doing a downgrade to your PC
And It won't hurt your PC 😂
good
Can i use usb 3.1 pendrive on usb 3.0 port and usb 2.0?
Yes, but it will only go at USB 3.0 or 2.0 speeds
Can I use usb 3.0 or usb 2.0 cable on a usb 3.2 gen 1 laptop port
Yes, they are backwards compatible. But it will only be at the speed of the oldest cable
Can i use my 3.0 usb on my 3.2 gen 2 usb port?
can i use usb 1, 2 and 3 on a usb 3.1 port?
Yes, they are compatible
Bro, I'm gonna buy a external hard disk....
Usb 3.1 is costs more than usb 3.0
If I don't care about speeds what should I go for usb 3.0 or 3.1 ?
you answered your own question, if you dont care about speeds get 3.0 because its cheaper...
can i use usb 3.1 on 3.0 port?
Yep
I am going to be upgrading my rig and all the new motherboards that I come across are no longer usb 3.0 and are 3.2 gen 1 and others. I am using a rift s and wondering if the 3.2 gen 1 would be working with the rift s which claims to need USB 3.0
USB is backwards compatible, so yes it will work
