- Today we're gonna be going over probably the most important (and one of the easiest) maintenance items on the 4Runner: the oil change. There are many ways to go about this, but this is the method I prefer after doing many on my own rig, as well as having experience at a Toyota dealership.
See you next time on the trails!

Awesome video. Started doing some of my own maintenance on my 2001 4Runner. This is definitely a great tutorial. 💯
Wow, I am loving your channel. I recently bought a 3rd gen very similar to yours and I’ve been binge watching your videos haha.
Keep it up!! You definitely earned a new consistent viewer.
Great video! I've been considering starting to do my own maintenance on my 3rd gen and this video helped to show how easy it is! Thanks!
Yessir! These 3rd gens are really straight forward to work on. I nearly everything on it myself
Great details and tips for specific oil changing. Thank you!
Glad to help!
Nice 👍🏾
thinking about changing mine for the first time on my 98 runner with 150k miles. Have you found any oil is better than another for best fuel economy? I am not sure what type of oil was used in my last oil change. thank you for your help and god speed.
What do you think of adding Marvel Mystery or Ceratech 20% with full synthetic oil change.
Hey carter, I have a 2000 limited with a very random and unexplainable coolant loss, hearing bubbles in the dash upon acceleration and engine temp heats up past operating at idle after sitting for 10+ minutes. What could I be looking at would ya think?
Once driving it’s completely fine, I already have new rad, rad cap, water pump, fan clutch
Bro, I just got my 01 4Runner a couple of weeks ago and trying to find some simple starter trails to go on. I’m also in CO and was wondering if you got any tips?
Check out the "Switzerland Trails". That's a great starter. I don't think there's too much snow on it right now...
@@PartimeOverland so I went up yesterday and since I’ve never been up there before and didn’t know exactly what I was getting into I didn’t get too far. Is it pretty flat the whole way? I was by myself and don’t have a winch to get unstuck haha. I want to go back up again soon. What websites or groups do you recommend to meet up with people and find trails?
Yooooo, put a wheel chock or two under those rear tires. Other than that, nice video
After buying a 3rd gen I sadly didn't have the money for chocks...:/ Haha no you're right, would be better!
Good video, Carter. Can we invite you to do a review for our product? We have emailed you to inquire about an opportunity
There is NOTHING like using the cheapest quality parts, lol. Welcome to trailer living!!
Sorry, what? I'm lost lol
@@PartimeOverland The oil and filter
@@Tobstertacoma What would you use instead?
@@PartimeOverland Mobil 1 and an o.e.m filter OR K&N filter
Pennzoil platinum full synthetic and wix xp are top notch… idk what he’s on about
