10:14 If you are using Blender 4.0, there have been some changes. Now, you need to press the Ctrl + Shift combination to select a bone
everything went correct but after the skinning part the character is not moving with the bones
Straight to the point . Thank you for saving our time and sacrificing yours to help us.
After many failed attempts over the years, I'm finally getting into blender. Thank you so much for making this tutorial. It helped a lot!
this was so straight forward and simple, thank you for your time and knowledge
Hey bro, this is one of the best tutorials i've ever seen. You took your time to explain everything. Ive been using blender for about a week now and this has helped me understand how bones are applied, and poses made very easily. Wishing you success!
I appreciate that!
One of the best tutorials ever. I've been struggling to link my armature to mesh and this solved it instantly. Thank you
Dale, thanks. This is by far the best video ive seen for rigging a character. I don't think I saw anywhere in which you state "but first you must" or at least not unnecessarily. Explaining things in linear form is the best way for some of us lol. Blessings bro.
I appreciate this comment bro thanks
Thank you, my guy. Videos like this are just the best of TH-cam. Incredibly thankful that people make these free tutorials. And this was amazing! Thank you!
I appreciate that!
I was struggling for an entire night with other tutorials then this worked straight away, thanks man.
New to blender here, ive decided to practice on movement this month and this tutorial helped out alot thanks for the time to make this.
I've heard of rigging before but this video really put it in perspective to get me started, Thank You.
Bro, I"m trying to learn rigging and I had this exact issue of these artefacs. you went straight to the point unlike other video's. That a like and a follow big man.
I'm officially a fan. You're not just a great technician. You're a great TEACHER. Liked and subbed. You've got a new student. This was AWESOME!!!
I am so thankful I found your tutorials! You are very good at explaining and demonstrating what you are doing. As someone who has 0 Blender skills I found this to be very helpful and useful!
I've been trying to mess around with rigging/armatures for a while now (kind of lazily, to be honest), but this video was so perfectly straightforward. Awesome video man, SUPER helpful!
Excellent tutorial, especially the way you always explain your keystrokes as you're doing it!
This helped me rig a model where other tutorials were over complicated and werent very useful. Fast and straight to the point. Thank you

Was actually able to understand all this without having to open blender and go along with it - THANK YOU!
This was a fantastic tutorial breaking down the very basics of rigging. Very helpful....thank you
TYSM!! Ive been looking everywhere for this and this is the only accurate tutorial I’ve seen so far, great job :)
Just the style of tutorial I love. Quick but still covered enough for me to learn the task. Great work.
Glad it was helpful!
This was very quick and precise. Excellent video =) Thank you!
thank god someone that explains things for real. i would never learn that it was called "skinning", i mean, in this case its not necessary but i suppose u have other videos with the processes names that could really help me in my learning. thanks a lot for the great tutorial!!!
Fantastic job - being thorough AND concise is a gift!
thanks
Thank you, SO MUCH!!!! I have been trying for ages to rig models! Your tutorial was the only one clear enough to get through my thick skull!!!
Glad I could help!
I've never used blender and I was able to rig a model in 10 mins thanks to you. Keep up the great work!
Glad I could help!
Giving us the how and the why made this so clear. Much appreciated!
amazing and effective video! Great job and presentation. You made this so simple! Thank you!
Thank you! Must have tried a dozen different tutorials and this is the first one that actually worked!
This was alot of help dude, thanks alot.
This is a great tutorial! Really straightforward and easy to follow.
Brilliant - thanks for putting this very to the point video together
Amazing Tutorial. Love using it. I don't remember having to do ctrl + shift and i am on 4.1.1
I tried following this without audio and managed to link my arms and legs together.
Following with audio was much more helpful haha I managed to fully rig my first 3d project (a purple grung (a dnd race) called Argh Stickyfeet) within 10 minutes.
Thank you ♡
Haha great stuff
@@thelastdev thanks ♡
I'm a 2d artist but really needed a 3d model that i could pose for photoshop layers, this has helped so much. Thanks!

I like your tone of voice and how calm you are and that you didn't pause too much or use um's and ah's.
Thank you so much! I didn't even know that it's that simple!
very helpful, never found a rigging video so easy to follow. Appreciate it very much, saved me loads of time!!!
Glad it helped!
Heya, thanks for helping on my Blender journey! I was actually able to successfully rig up my model!
Very straight forward, most of other videos concerning rigging are complicated.
This helped me out so much! Thanks for sharing the knowledge!
Glad it helped!
You are a hero my man
Omg thank you so much for this...been having so many issues rigging characters all this time and had zero clue on using weight paint mode for better control over effected areas....
You're so welcome!
thanks, i found that having the hip bones is really really important, for some reason most other tutorial makers just do the spine and then leave a huge gap between spine and leg bones with no hip bones, idk why, thanks thanks
great video dude. makes this more fun then what it already is
The way you explained made me think I could be a pro but I’ll give this all a try tomorrow 🙏🏾

Wow, thanks!
What can I say? this a very clear example of effective tutorial comment. Thank you, I learned something.
I'm Impressed. This Seems Very Easy And Simple, Though Maybe A But Tricky. Overall, You Did A Great Job Here.
This was the best thank you very much
i love you knowledge and well rounded showing
Huge help for my first project thank you
Finally tutorials that concentrate on actual explaining in a simple and understanding way, instead of some authors who are trying to look "cool" and smart by babbling chaotically without really explaining anything.
Haha thanks
this is the most based and simple tutorial, I wish more people knew how to speak, thank u man
I’m new to blender as well as making my own game, I haven’t tried this out yet but it was very simple and straightforward to understand. I’m excited to apply this to the characters I make :)
Hey same here, how did it go? For me it started to have some problems with posing. :/ For example, if I want to rotate the body, half of the mesh stays where it was, it's like some weird stretching.
Edit: I solved the problem, for now.
@@Animesther hey sorry I haven't tried this tutorial yet since I'm focusing on making assets for the game. But how did you solve this? just in case the same happens to me.
@@kasualkalamari didn't really solve it yet but I think the weight painting and correct remishing will help
Appreciate the vid!
Thank you so much for this great tutorial! It was really really helpful and easy to follow :)
Good no-nonsense tutorial. 👍
Glad it was helpful!
yo thank you so much, i thought it would be a pain is the ass to do, you made it a million times easier
