  • In this video I will explain the movement of a key body part that dictates how much your hips can turn in golf swing.
I believe that a lot of players may have some misunderstandings of what other body parts are involved when it comes to rotation so this video may give you a different perspective.

I think I just watched 20 of his videos in a row. This has to be one of the best golf channel on TH-cam, but I think JKM is also one of the best looking and well dressed pro on YT. Keep up the good work and the hair.

This is an area I’ve struggled with my entire “career”. Thank you for simplifying it, Jonathan! Great stuff!

I am one of those who rotating pelvis too fast and arms were dragging behind, the toll would be like slice or worst shank balls. After years of struggling, I even gave up playing golf for years until now your YT save the game and everything that was bothering make sense through your demonstration. Thank you and good job. Hope you can give some more tips about striking solid fairway woods.

Nice video, but what is a good drill to work on to apply back knee flex/front knee straightening in downswing? Thank you.

    That’s ME! 😳
… I think I straighten both knees near impact on my mishits. I think straightening the legs locks my hips. I think I need to SQUAT a little more on the downswing.
    Thanks, Jonathan 🙏🏻
You always make these concepts simple & easy to understand.
Keep up the good work 👍🏻

I notice that you recommend not shifting your weight to the trail side in the backswing. But when YOU hit. your driver you seem to set the weight onto the right foot at the beginning of the backswing ( load the right side)

Good stuff, as always, Jonathan. 👍🏻
… especially that the knee flex allows the hips to turn.
I think most of us get this in the backswing, but I don’t see a lot on clearing the hips on the downswing. And as you say, that often results in the hips stopping and then blocks, flips, chicken-wing, etc, etc.
That (and early extension) is what I struggle with (probably related). I think I try to stop my hip turn on the downswing in an effort to keep my upper body (shoulders) from opening before impact.
