    I've been playing for 64 years and have taken lessons from three or four teaching pros. Never have I heard or seen this so well put. This is true for Jonathan's other videos as well.

    Again just an amazing lesson. I learn something new from each lesson. I’ve only been playing for 2 yrs, I’m 58 and I’m consistently shooting in the low 80s playing once a week. You are the best TH-cam teacher imo and I wish you great success!

    Your clear explanations coupled with your demonstrations are so stinkin’ scientifically and physics sound, you add a unique dimension to your presentations that elevate you to the top of all instructors. You can actually DO what you coach others to do-you should be coaching the greats, like, Tiger, Rory, etc. Actually, you should be competing against them on tour. 😉

    This really helped me swing my irons pure especially at around 1:40! It forces me to keep my elbow in during the downswing. Thanks man!!!

    This backswing sequence is gold! Thanks for keeping it simple. I put the change in place today and shot 3 over. Without these changes I was inconsistent.

    That last drill. Wow. Surely you can just swing like that! Such a great feels on proper wrist flex and top of backswing position. Brilliant. Soooooo good. Thank you very much.

    best tip ever....I always wondered about the position of my hands in the back swing because it clearly has a profound
    affect on the clubface....took this to the range and my ball striking was like I have never seen before....couple of points....
    I notice how low your lead arm has to stay in order to get the club angle through the lower bicep it almost feels like you become a single plane swing. Secondly, can I assume this is the same position for 5 wood to driver? Thanks

  • @lendzubow

    Two questions: When you perform drill 2, as you rotate the arms the left arm moves away from the chest- is this the correct feeling during the real swing? When you say the hands rotate around the body, are you actively moving them around or do you swing more straight back and they go around with body rotation? If you actively swing around the body it seems the left arm gets too close to the chest. Thanks-Great video.

      @iupab 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I saw a version of this drill from Sir Nick Faldo but I think he references a “takeaway drill” .Anyway, in my posture, i take the club up keep your hands/wrist where they are at address and then rotate wrist right club parallel with ground (wrist/arms don’t move in or away from chest) then I merely turn shoulders into a backswing . It was a real revolution for me in getting a correct takeaway/backswing feel

    @JohnJ866 ปีที่แล้ว

    Jonathan, I think your videos are great a question about drill #2 . I’m following you all the way to step #3 turn the body - at this point it looks as though there is a considerable amount of wrist cocking as well as body turn . Can you please clear this up for me

    • @JKMGolf
      @JKMGolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From the start of the backswing the body should be making the majority of the movement. After the club reaches parallel to the ground the wrist and trail arm will start to bend in order to get the club head to move. The body is still moving at the same time

  • @lendzubow
    @lendzubow 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Last question- is there any deliberate lifting of the arms with your approach or just turning- if so are the hands staying reasonably low?

    • @JKMGolf
      @JKMGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is definitely not just turning. However, moving your body correctly will make it easier to get the hands high without have to lift the arms too much.

    Jonathan, great video. Can’t the second drill also have value as a “takeaway drill”?

    • @JKMGolf
      @JKMGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      not for the takeaway since the wrists and arms are positioned differently. That drill was to preset your wrists and arms specifically for a top position

      Try thinking about your right hand holding a waiters tray at top of backswing. This helps allow your right wrist to hinge and helps get left in right position. Cheers!
