I love fall. I get a lot of tweed blazers from thrift stores. I love throwing one on with jeans or some trousers, a sweater and some boots. It feels casual to me but not too dressy. Its a good way to get a boost of confidence and feel put together without wearing a full suit and tie ensemble.
Thank you, GG. You all helped me get started on my style journey years ago now. I appreciate the top shelf quality you all put out. Fall is my favorite season. Time to break out the odd jackets and unlined gloves!
well as a kiwi who watches this channel we're in spring time but I'll be using this video when autumn and winter roll around but for now I shall binge watch all the summer videos
Looking at the thumbnail, I could have sworn that your jacket was that three piece paddock suit. However, this one is also beautiful! Quite unusual for there to be shooting pleats without a belted back, but it's still wonderful.
Nearly shat myself watching this. Can we get more vids like this please? All of the examples are superb and to have them explained is a blessing. More explained examples please, I'm sure Mr. Schneider has no shortage to show.
Except for the rain I really like the fall and winter. Winter outfits are my favourite. I have been following the Gentleman's Gazette for some time now and pocket squares are one of my favourite types of accessories you have recommended. The old school style is nice but a but 70 dollars plus the import tax is a bit above my budget. Also I have been noticing that here in the Netherlands people do not wear them as much. But I always get a smile on my face when I wear one with my blazer.
Thank you for this wonderful educational video. I've always wanted to know how to incorporate more colors without looking like a clown. Usually fall menswear in the stores is just several different types of dull earth tones. The light orange jacket with burgundy vest combo at the end (25:44) is simply gorgeous, rich yet not overpowering--very classy.
How many Sports jackets do you have Raphael? All of them are extremely classy. I don't have as much closet space as you obviously so I may have to go minimal on them maybe 3-5. Not sure if you have any article on which few to purchase. Love the content as always gents!
Hey guys, I need your professional Opinion: I will attend a Wedding in a few days. Should I wear my suit with or without the vest? After all, there is a saying that goes like "Never look better than the bride". I am not sure if a three piece Suit is the right thing for a simple Wedding. Nothing too royal going on this time. Appreciate any input. Thanks! :)
I second what ichder jogi has said. Wear the vest - especially if you’re comfortable wearing it - but keep your shirt and pocket square reasonably subdued, and a simple boutonnière if you have one, but don’t worry if not.
Hallo Raphael, your videos are great. Very professionally done and edited. I like that you pay attention to the colours. On some other things I would like to draw your attention, too. Brown burgundy red and blue are great to combine. There is a very wild mix of all patterns when you combined those colours though. When you mix your striped shirts with many other patterns I think this is too much. Your striped shirt in white and light blue is summer. The tweed jacket is autumn and winter fabrics. Both mix not well, I think. I pay attention to the structure of fabrics, to the colours and to the patterns. This is harmony for my eyes. All the outfits combined with the Edelweiß are too much eye catchers in one outfit for me. Mix of many materials and many patterns. Love the cute Edelweiß though. Normally it is only seen on Trachtenjacken. I very much liked one outfit with the knitted yellow tie. This was harmony in colours and material for me. The sporty outfit with the chinos, blue shirt and jacket at the end was great. The eye can concentrate on the pattern of the jacket and all other things harmonize. No item was boring but the eye catcher was the Jacket. Love it. Vielleicht ist Dir meine Anregung zu langweilig, vielleicht probierst Du es gerne. Ich bin gespannt. Grüße aus einem herbstlich nass kalten Deutschland. 😁

A video idea I would love to see, do your best to find a good suit on Amazon. I've been really eyeballing Amazon's "Buttoned Down" brand to see if they were any good, but I'm super afraid to pull the trigger. They would be considered cheap suits, but I would love to know your experience if you don't want to buy something vintage, but don't want to get ripped off. Thank you
You would be much better served trying out your local department store. You can feel if it's a good quality, or one wear from a busted seam. J.C. Penney can be very affordable, for example.
I agree with the spirit of what Jordan said. You're better off going to a thrift store in person so you can experience the suits for yourself. That way you're not worried about descriptions being expectedly inadequate. You'll also have to take it to a tailor to get it adjusted so brush up on both the hallmarks of a good suit and tailoring guidelines that GG has reviewed. It takes some time to be able to spot quality work while thrifting but I found the learning curve quite fun to experience. Good luck and enjoy!
@@latetotheparty7551 Agreed completely, but I thought it would be a good video idea just to maybe prove a point, or be pleasantly surprised, about the quality of buying new things online. Since Buttoned Down is apparently their own brand, Some of the descriptors seem good on the surface, but I just wonder how they really stack up in the long run. (Or others, doesn't have to be that brand, but that one seemed to be the best I've seen.) Example: Amazon Brand - BUTTONED DOWN Men's Classic Fit Super 110 Italian Wool Suit Jacket * 100% Italian Wool (Garment Made in China) * Imported * Button closure * Dry Clean Only * Modern suit jacket crafted from Super 110's Italian wool fabric. Meticulously tailored using traditional and modern sewing techniques. Genuine horn buttons for added elegance and uniqueness as no two are alike. * Our wool fabric is spun at the foot of the Alps in Biella, Italy from Merino sheep. Long, thin fibers create fabric offering ease of movement and all-day comfort and flexibility. * Satisfaction Guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with your Buttoned Down suit jacket at any time, we are happy to give you a full refund * Classic-Fit: our roomiest fit, cut broader across the shoulders and relaxed through the chest and body. This suit jacket is also available in Tailored-Fit or Slim-Fit. To shop the matching Classic-Fit suit separate dress pant: saerch Buttoned Down MBD65005 * Lightweight chest canvas forms to the body over time for a comfortable fit and natural look. AMF pick-stitching strengthens seams. Side vents and pleated inside lining for ease of wear.
I'm sorry, but I would NEVER, EVER spend $60.00 or $70.00 on a pocket square. I have a couple dozen pocket squares and I'm happy with the quality of what I have at a fraction of those prices.
To each his own - there are high end items in every industry that most would say are too expensive. But apparently, enough people purchase them for there to be a market for those items.
Amazon or ebay have some good selections. Just get a few solids: white, navy, burgundy, yellow and use the presidential fold and you're good to go. Just keep it simple.
Am I the only one who actually likes fall and winter. There is something about the cold outside and warm clothing that is magical.
Not by a long shot. Everybody I know loves this time of year.
Me too, I love cold weather.

It’s a beautiful season and it allows one to layer one’s clothing. M.
I'm so glad autumn is here again. Browns and oranges with layers really suit me more than summer colours.

Let's go fall!!! Time to start layers!!!
Although this video is about pocket squares, the various ensemble of tweed suits are truly the stars ⭐ of this well done video.
Another great video! Although I'm headed for summer here in Australia!
We know, but it will be relevant for you in 6 months...
Well, I'm from Houston, Texas, so by the time winter arrives here this video will have developed a nice patina.

Wear the vest. People will notice that you did something special. But keep the accessoires muted not to risk outshining anyone

"Pocket squares cost less than whole outfits"
*shows a $70 pocket square*
And? That whole outfit of his (at RETAIL) is probably close to $1000. You can get vintage pocket squares on ebay for about $10
Fab 😁👍🏻👍🏻
Blue Nitrile gloves make pretty good pocket squares these days.
