Pocket squares have been around for ages in one form or another. The modern version we know today was predated by the handkerchief, which dates all the way back to ancient Egyptians, who used hankies for hygienic purposes like wiping off dirt or sweat from the face. The pocket square’s popularity can be credited to King Richard II of England, who popularized handkerchiefs in 1390 because of a personal preference for carrying one with him wherever he went. Fast-forward to the 1900s, and everyone who was anyone was toting one. By WWII, however, the idea of a handkerchief fell out of style for sanitary reasons, and pocket squares were known from then on as the fashion accessory we know today.
In the past century, dozens of different ways to fold the square were born. From the ornate four peak to the crisp presidential, there’s a fold suitable for any occasion, be it casual, formal, or somewhere in between. Here’s twelve ways to fold your pocket square. Your style will thank you.

Well, I have a new-found addiction to pocket squares...
3 peaks, 4 peaks, the winged peak and the stairs are to me the most dapper folds! The piped edging is so chic and makes some of those styles pop. Thank you for sharing :)
I did the stairs for my own suit. I like it. It's different and tells everyone you mean business. It's nicely bold but still calm, stylish and interesting so it catches the eye.
Origami is over doing it
Took me a few tries but I’ve finally done it. The staircase looks amazing

Stair fold and presedential are my go to folds usually, going to try the three peaks and four peaks for something a little more extravagant! Much appreciated.

Beautiful‼️Thank you straight to the point and very well done 💯
a wealth of quality options matched w clear presentation! 5 Star!
It is very useful, practical. Congratulations and thanks
This is a super video. I watched one video elsewhere that showed the three basic folds, but to see how to do a dozen of them is over the top! I will make up a nice one the next time my retired husband and I go out to dinner and he wears a suit. Another tip to all male/female readers is DO NOT match exactly to your tie -- if tie is red, you can use a red print. If tie is red print, you can use a solid red. But DO NOT buy a matching tie and pocket square, as it's a bit gauche to have them match exactly. I read this and found it good to know!
Great advice!
definitely need more of this!
Thank god. Exactly what I searched for. Great video!

Thank you soo much.. I really need this video.. Thanx again
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for the tutorial!!! What's the name of this song?
I do have one question, however: Is there a rule of thumb for how high the pocket square should show outside of the pocket? I notice some of your finished folds were higher than others. Just curious if we should know that distance, if there is one. Many thanks!
For The Presidential I would suggest about half an inch showing. For The Classic I would suggest closer to 3/4ths of an inch to show off the folds. For the other folds I would suggest going with your gut. Don't be afraid to play around and have fun with it!
That's a nice coat!
This video is so satisfying...
I really like the background music. What song is this?

Great video 10/10
Amazing.
Puff & reverse puff are my type of folds. Simple and not too fancy shmancy. 👌
Love it.. thanks
Well presented. No fluff - except a little “fluff” in some of those handkerchiefs’ folds.
