  • The Creality Sonic Pad is a must-have if you have a compatible FDM printer. The increased speed without sacrificing quality, combined with the ease of setup and calibration, as well as the included accelerometer for tuning the input shaper and acceleration, makes it a clear winner.

    Thanks Will, your prints look amazing indeed. Got klipper running on my Tevo Tornado but haven't done the input shaper thing. The pad looks and works amazing. Really considering it now

    I'm a bit confused hope you could help, when it comes to the first step in getting the pad level, where the knobs need to be tightened up, do you actually do that part? Also, on the auto leaving part, what numbers are you looking for to get to know you have a great level? I'm need to printing, just trying to get a bit more info. I'm actually really excited to get it going.

      I’m still new to this but when it came to the four corners I just hit stop and skipped it and then let it continue on. Let it do the bed mesh and then go back and set the Z-offset with a piece of paper or a feeler gauge. Then I went back to the four corner part and just loosened my bed springs until the feeler gauge just barely slid out. Then go back and re-run the bed mesh. After that it was good to go. The pad has made my printer so much better I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again. I hope this helps.

    Could you tell me what version of the firmware was running on the Ender 5 S1? When I put 1.0.6 on my 5-S1 it crashes when auto bed levelling and gives error code E203. Creality have been no help whatsoever.

    Any word on when the filament run out sensor will be better implemented? Ran out of wire and had to scrap the print because the sonic pad couldn't restart.

    Has anyone here connected a pad to an Ender 5 Plus? How much faster can you print and do you need to do anything other then use this pad? Do you need to change slicer settings or slicer profile settings?

    • @studiozombie3d
      @studiozombie3d  ปีที่แล้ว

      Generally with the pad and klipper ypu can get 2 to 5x the print speed and keep the quality. My ender 5 s1 runs up tp 250 clean with the pad. Creality has suggested profiles in the link in the description.

    after inserting the SD card into the printer (s1) it bricks my machine. I have tried twice and had to reinstall the original firmware each time due to it making the printer inoperable.

    • @jclosed2516
      @jclosed2516 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are using a Creality Ender S1 series, are you sure you use the image for the right processor? There are two types, and using the wrong processor type can indeed lead to a "frozen" printer. Also - Keep in mind that after installing the firmware, you HAVE to use the Sonic Pad, because the display on the printer itself is not working with the Klipper firmware. You cannot longer operate the printer without the Sonic Pad. In short - The printer looks like frozen if you don't connect the Sonic Pad, but in reality it's waiting idle until that Sonic Pad is connected.

      @Jclosed I am using an Ender 3 S1 and removed the bottom plate to make sure I had the right board for the right firmware. I followed the instructions and multiple videos thoroughly but the sonic pad would never show its loading screen. I returned the sonic pad and installed the professional firmware on the machine. I'll try a raspberry pi at some point. Thanks for the tips though.

      @@BooperTrooper912 Ah - That's really bad. Well - I am going to try in a few day's, so let's hope it will go better on my Ender 3 S1.
      Until now I am using a Raspberry Pi 400, and used Octoprint. I wanted to give Klipper a run and was reading in, but then saw the Sonic Pad would be a short-cut for that. If it does not work, I can always go back to the original plan. I mean, after a long time tweaking and compiling Marlin firmware it should be not too difficult for me...
      Anyway - I hope you are more lucky this time...

      @@jclosed2516 I hope it goes well for you. I will say I am happy with the upgraded firmware but I would like to monitor things remotely. Right now I have an old baby monitor camera watching things while I'm home lol.

    Hey Will, great video, i have a few questions for you. The Sonic pad can handle up to 4 printers does that also mean 4 cams as well? can a USB hub be used to add the cameras or have a single USB cable to the Pad and all printers connected to the hub?

      Check the firmware version on the printer screen it should have a letter which identifies which board is in it

    All this device provides is the PIN mapping for your board. Everything else is test & tune like a self install. But with more problems due to cut admin permissions. Just use KIAUH installer on any computer.
