I had a total nightmare with my sonic. Besides shipping delays, if you try to add two printers of the same type it fails. (because printers can't have the same name, and the name is generated from the type). Then the accelleromter won't work in the interface (it does work from the console). Then, for reasons of my own stupidity, my mainboard shorted out, and trying to switch to a BTT SKR Mini (the most popular upgrade board for Creality) was unsupported (you need to manually compile and upload klipper to the board, not hard, just annoying). An update about the SP. It was working great with my MK3s and SV06 Plus. I had everything dialed in and printing better than ever. Then I began having hardware issues. Constant MCU overload errors I couldn't finish a print. I tried contacting support but they said that they do not support non-creality printers and kept closing my tickets. So a note to people who may want one for non-creality printers. You're on your own if you have any hardware issues with the sonic pad. You may want to look in to a Pad 7. For me it was easy enough to configure Klipper using an old computer, kiauh and xubuntu. Very disappointing I really liked the clean look of the Sonic pad in my work area. Yes! Please do make a video/series on how to get the Sonic pad running as its best. I have an Ender-3 Pro and do like Octo but the time investment in all the work plus the fact that I can but it as a bundle with a Spider hot end just seems to make it a no-brainer Can you also do a video on the (I assume optional) G-Force attachment? I may still some day do the Pi4B/Pi3B route but at least I have all the benefits and use of my printer right now. Also I LOVE the mount! Any chance you can do a video series to show how to use whatever design software you think is best? I already saved 3x more than what my printer costs by printing bushings for my Anderson screen door which they do not sell a new hinge or bushings for. I was even able to make various sizes that accounted for wear too. I also need to learn how to post my STL files on 3d printing sites.
Just a heads up to anyone, hopefully you'll never have to deal with webhook error msg's during prints with the Sonic Pad. I did and now I've got my first klipper install on my Ender 5 Plus due to the Sonic Pad could not complete a layer without dropping the connection to the printer. Klipper now setup and has been printing fine for hours with no issues. Sort of feel we may have the 1st or 2nd round of hardware and maybe it's best to wait till the next version.
hey sorry to hear that, maybe a new software update might fix it for you, have you tried changing the cable you use to connect your sonic pad to your printer?
@@z-made heh, a few of them! Even tried separating the power and data cables so they were not touching each other. Nice review thanks. I'm still on the fence about getting one for my SV06 plus and Prusa MK3s for the wireless capabilities. After being spoiled with my X1C. Though I think about it and I don't leave spools loaded on my other two because they're all in a damp basement so filament always goes in dry boxes. Also I'm not mass producing anything and I'm basically picking the colors when I dream up something so I'm in the basement anyway. Wireless really doesn't do much for me since I have to go down there anyway. Still its pretty cheap and might be nice to have the two also reachable from upstairs and hook up webcams.
Hey OliverM3, first of all, thank you for your kind comments, second, I can understand your reservations about whether this would be a good fit for your setup, given that you store your filament in dry boxes and typically work in your basement where you're close to your printers that makes sense. While wireless connectivity may not be a top priority for you, I think the convenience of having your printers accessible from multiple locations and monitoring them remotely with webcams could definitely be a nice benefit. , so it may be worth considering even if you're not mass-producing anything. Ultimately, the decision of whether to invest in a Sonic Pad or not will depend on your personal preferences and workflow. If you do decide to try it out, I'd love to hear your thoughts on how it performs with your SV06 Plus and Prusa MK3S. Thanks again for watching my review!
@@z-made One down the SV06 Plus was the easiest of the bunch. 40min benchy so far on the plus with good quality not bad so far. I was about to give up today and send the sonic pad back but finally found enough info on the SV06 to get me going. So far so good. Waiting on Amazon now for the web cam.
Quick question. If I have a phone that does connect to my printer and provides data and power would recommend running clipper on the phone or is the sonic pad a better option ? I am tech savy
hey there Derek, ok so first of all thanks for the comment, second, that's a complex question, I think it depends on a number of factors, what printer you're using, what your budget is, and what flavor of smartphone you have, to name a few, but bottom line, if you have the time and experience to get klipper up and running on your printer and you enjoy the process of getting that up and running then I say go for it, this is a link to the GitHub page to help you get klipper running (if your using android) "github.com/d4rk50ul1/klipper-on-android" but if you would rather a smooth process and have the budget i would suggest the sonic pad, but of course, this is all my humble opinion, please let me know what you decided to do
@@z-made thanks for the information. I work in IT tech support. The reason I opted for a phone is I have a Samsung A50 that I no longer use and it has a built in camera for time lapse whereas the sonic pad does not: also using a phone I already have reduces the cost significantly. Will do some research and see what I can do. I have an ender 3 pro as well as a Monoprice maker select plus printet

I have the same printer as you but for some reason I cannot get it to connect to my printer. Nor can I get it to even read the SD card that flashed my smart pro moments prior 😂
Hey Richard, there are 2 different boards Creality uses for the s1 pro, your printer might have a different board than the one you chose when originally setting it up. Have you tried setting up the sonic pad with both of them?
I think the mounting is proper when you consider this runs up to four printers. Yes, for a single printer it could be better. Also, not many people have a printer on a shelf. How's the vibrations with that location? Nice video overall.
I bought the stl sonic pad mount from you and I am having issues printing. What settings do you recommend? I cannot get the support to print well so the “legs” are not fitting into the body well. Any suggestions?
hey there, kfm, first of all, thank you, second, try to lay the "tree with the branches" aka the cylinder, flat on its back with the branches facing up toward the extruder, with no supports, let me know how it goes😊
Hey there Heavenly, the Ender 3 neo 3d printer is luckily supported by the sonic pad, this is an affiliate link to it on Amazon "Link to the Sonic Pad on Amazon:amzn.to/3JVnl3u" I watched some of your videos on your channel, great stuff!
I’m newer to 3D printing and got the sonic pad mainly for the ability to send from my computer. So far so good but I am having issues with the temps. I set my temps when I slice it in Cura but the Sonic Pad keeps setting the temps (Hotend and Bed) back to its presets. Anyone else have this issue or know a fix?
I sent it back. Wasnt possible to adapt my Creality CR6se. I have the older 4.5.2 mainboard: no connection. With the second choice the 4.5.3 mainboard I got connection, but later failure of course. I m so sad, that creality not even can manage their own printers.
Ya that sucks, I'm sorry to hear that, Creality just included a whole bunch of new printers to the compatibility list in there new update, mabey yours is one of them
That depends on whether you have klipper up and running already on your printer with the raspberry and if a large touch screen is something that interests you, if you already have a raspberry pi running klipper and have access to a touch screen and accelerometer i think you could pass on the sonic pad, but if not then i think the sonic pad is the best bang for your buck upgrade you can get for your 3d printer and it can run 4 different printers at a time
Plug and play ? Glad you think getting it up and running is a snap - any experts out there want mine ? The sonic pad has kept me from using my printer for over a week. Painful AF
I am about to return mine but did anyone have problems with bed size? I have ender 3 pro with 4.2.7/sprite/crtouch. With the "built in" profile for it the nozzle crashes into the bed and is not configured correctly.
the other thing that might affect this is if maybe you accidentally chose the ender 3 instead of the pro, which has a slightly larger print bed size (the print bed size in actuality not in the print area) and might be the cause of your issue
@@z-made I hope and also hope that is not the case because I would feel really stupid!! Thanks for the tips, will try this weekend after my current print is done.

Ghxzt ×͜× I don't have enough experience on core xy printers running on klipper to answer his question do you think you might respond to him in the comments so I don't give him the wrong advice? th-cam.com/video/DMRzqpdyS50/w-d-xo.html
So will this work with mriscoc software or would I have to reinstall original then klipper , I have E3V2 - BL/sprite-dual z-4.2.7 board Great video your a natural at this
Can the SonicPad Creality version of Klipper be easily updated to new versions of Klipper or to have other printer.cfg files uploaded easily?
The MK3s is still giving me problems with a "mcu 'mcu': Unable to extract params from :config_spi" error loading the config. And my Tevo I'm no where near ready with a complete config file.
@@DerekDarcy ok, that sounds awesome, let me know how this works out for you, I'm wondering if you can manage to run more than one printer off the phone, let me know if you can😊
I don't see the link to the stl file for the tablet mount
Any walk thru you can do would be helpful. It's always better to watch someone actually go through the steps to understand the process.
Ya for sure, I wholeheartedly agree, I have 2 videos one on input shaping and the other on pressure advance, kinda goofed on the input shaping intro, but aside from that both are a step-by-step walkthrough of how to get the most out of the sonic pad , I hope you enjoy them, if you think of any other walkthroughs that might be helpful I'm sure it would be helpful to everyone else as well let me know and il do my best to get that out as well

I have a reality CRX Pro can I have had for a few years I only use it for a hobby as well would it be ok to use this to upgrade mine
Have you tried setting up the sonic pad with both of them?
is the sonic pad suitable for CR6-SE?
Can it increase printing speed?
love my sonic pad too
I think the mounting is proper when you consider this runs up to four printers.
I was actually excited to do the process of setting up a pi and installing all the software and hardware but the price is just too high
Will this work with an BFF board and idex heads?
I meant a BTT skr pro board upgrade
klipper supports idex, this is a link to an article from klipper explaining support, hope this helps😊
Elder5 s1 printer was sonic pad connected. how to use printer whitout sonic pad? Can`t use touch screen on printer :(
Make some videos on setting it up with an s1 pro
How can I get one for my Creative 3d Neo printer?
Hey there Heavenly, the Ender 3 neo 3d printer is luckily supported by the sonic pad, this is an affiliate link to it on Amazon "Link to the Sonic Pad on Amazon:amzn.to/3JVnl3u" I watched some of your videos on your channel, great stuff!
@@z-made thank you very much 😊
@@EndlessSims3 your welcome 😊
I’m newer to 3D printing and got the sonic pad mainly for the ability to send from my computer. So far so good but I am having issues with the temps. I set my temps when I slice it in Cura but the Sonic Pad keeps setting the temps (Hotend and Bed) back to its presets. Anyone else have this issue or know a fix?
you might have to do some PID tuning,, what printer are you using?
How does the pad connect to printer cable or sd card ? As my s1 reads the the file to print and then freezes. Cheers Geoff
I sent it back. Wasnt possible to adapt my Creality CR6se. I have the older 4.5.2 mainboard: no connection. With the second choice the 4.5.3 mainboard I got connection, but later failure of course. I m so sad, that creality not even can manage their own printers.
Ya that sucks, I'm sorry to hear that, Creality just included a whole bunch of new printers to the compatibility list in there new update, mabey yours is one of them
Hello, thanks for your videos, do you recommend buying the sonic pad, or continue with raspberry?
That depends on whether you have klipper up and running already on your printer with the raspberry and if a large touch screen is something that interests you, if you already have a raspberry pi running klipper and have access to a touch screen and accelerometer i think you could pass on the sonic pad, but if not then i think the sonic pad is the best bang for your buck upgrade you can get for your 3d printer and it can run 4 different printers at a time
I hope I answered your question
@@z-made
Thank you very much for your answer, at this moment I am placing the order, thank you again
@@adrianlopezalmaguer8700 Awesome sounds great
Thanks
Welcome😊
does the camera work with it?
yes, it does, you can hook a webcam directly to the sonic pad, works like a charm
With the "built in" profile for it the nozzle crashes into the bed and is not configured correctly.
did you try changing the Z offset?
@@z-made Z offset is fine it is that the probe is probing off of the bed.
you might have a problem with your printer config file
the other thing that might affect this is if maybe you accidentally chose the ender 3 instead of the pro, which has a slightly larger print bed size (the print bed size in actuality not in the print area) and might be the cause of your issue
@@z-made I hope and also hope that is not the case because I would feel really stupid!! Thanks for the tips, will try this weekend after my current print is done.
Well done!
thank you
Can I run 2-3 printers at once with this?
Yes you can run up to 4 printers with the sonic pad😊
@@z-made how do you connect 4 printers to it? Do you need a USB hub?
I’ve been trying to set this thing up for 4 hours, it’s not straightforward when it doesn’t work as it’s supposed to be, google doesn’t help, Reddit gives only answers to questions I didn’t ask, discord doesn’t respond at all, error messages are vague and every hates you when you don’t understand them. And the touch screen is a living hell, some parts don’t respond at all.
And all this time I could’ve just used a raspberry pi?
Hey man, its really nice for you to share your experience using Ender-3 S1 Pro with us. I believe, Our World is a Shared Experience.
Now the bit I want to ask you a favour. I having serious issues printing with my E-3 S1 Pro. First one came, which I had to send it back to Creality so they swap me my present printer. It started Ok, then back to square one. As myself being disabled, I keep finding hard to use the Stock screen that comes with it, so I also bought the Sonic Pad from Creality. After a few hiccups, I managed to make it work. Then all back to square one (x2) again. My models becoming out of shape, coming off even I use Glue Sticks as a precaution. So, I went through every single checks, tighten up all the screws (I found some came loose), reset to factory setting, but cannot win. I Levelled/Re-Levelled the Bed, but when it comes to set up the Probe the Extruder get stuck to the bed and keep pushing down as well as loud noise. I hope I managed to explain my problem, so I will be extremely obliged if you could advice me to resolve this issue.

Hey Steve C. I'm happy you found some value in my video😊 , thank you!
Didn't know John Travoltas son was in to printing
😂
Nice video 😀

I also have sonic pad but it's hot bed settings are 230-230-270 instead of 220-220-270 on ender s1 pro
thank you😊 i'm glad you enjoyed the video
The whole plug and play is also negated because you need to open up the printer to get the motherboard version.
Hey Mike R, good point thanks for pointing that out😊
I can’t even get my sonic pad to to connect to my printer. It keeps saying something about the kipper.
what printer do you have?

So I finally got it to connect. The firmware on the provided sd card was corrupt. Found the firmware online a used a different SD card and got everything to work finally.

Print up a better stand and sell it. 🤪👍
Thanks for the tip Christopher
I need to correct your grammer sir... you should not say "its more... comfortable". You say: "Its more... better". "More better" is more better. You can even throw an extra "er" on the end, like this: "Its more betterer".
😂
