It's incredibly expensive, but it looks like a decent kit.
For that price however, I really would like to have flap controls and gear leaver somewhere. If I'm spending that amount of money on a HOTAS, I don't want to have to make any compromises. Not having flaps and a gear leaver means that some compromises will have to be made.
Not that I have the money for this toy in the foreseeable future, but perhaps a second or third iteration of it could be a possibility.

Using the extension is really recommended if you can make it work / fit. I use an extension on my Warthog, and it made such an enormous difference in flying. The extra leverage lets you be so very precise; which really helps with helicopter flying where you are constantly making tiny but precise movements.
Looks really impressive! If I was building a home cockpit sort of thing, I'd be very interested in this kit.

It's pretty good, I should have also mentioned construction but I can go back over that in the review. It's all metal and hard plastics for the most part. Internals are all metal as well with the gambol being almost a block of aluminium.

That's unsurprising, the Thrustmaster TWCS throttle grip is a copy of the F/A-18 Throttle grip just designed for a single engine axis. This is a replica of the F/A-18 throttle grip in it's full twin axis setup, Both units are based on the same aircraft.

It's about $1,000 for this HOTAS, yet except for a cool looking switch panel and a few more toggle/on-off switches, it has less functionality, no Mode switch, only 2 rotaries (vs 4 on X56 + the 2-axis rotating switch on the end of the left throttle lever), and less capability than my X56 that cost $289. The Virpil HOTAS is $3-400 less, has the same basic mechanics, better functionality on the Throttle and more hat switches on both throttle and stick. Sorry Winwing, I'm going with Virpil.

  • @klhmia

does the throttle have Neutral detents? If I'm not clear with this question; does it make a click or some sort of tactile feedback when you enter the throttle neutral position? I'm looking to get a throttle / stick system for Elite Dangerous, however, this detents feedback is something I'm looking for, especially for $900+! Thank you!
