Thanks to all the viewers, fans, and MC staff for being so great to hangout with for a day! @@Mach141 While it can certainly be profitable it's not as profitable as it once was. If you've actually watched other GN videos though you'd also know they put a LOT of money into equipment to be able to do actual real thorough testing. They aren't just pumping out 10 minute videos throwing parts together and running a benchmark, a lot of time and work goes into each video. For all that goes into each video I would not be at all surprised if they make much less profit than the vast majority of other TH-camrs, particularly ones of similar sizes. I'm not saying he can't afford to do this and clearly the fact that he helped with this build allowed them to make a video out of the visit when they had no clear plans, but it's still a nice thing to see here and not just trivial. GN really seems like a product of love where everyone involved believes in what they're doing to try to provide a service for the space that really doesn't exist without them. Yeah they're a business and they make money but they aren't here throwing half assed worthless videos with clickbait thumbnails just to pull in the most profit they could. They wouldn't spend tens of thousands of dollars on custom testing equipment if they didn't believe what they're doing has value.

It is very common for other customers to help each other particularly when the employees are busy. It is a safe place for nerds to just walk around and think of more projects, upgrades, etc. Once you have the attention of an employee, particularly if you are doing a full PC build and need a lot of components, the employee assisting you will stick with you the whole time if you want and/ or need them to do so, which is great for you. However, some times it's good to have extra nerds around as shoppers almost always outnumber employees.

@@songogu9 Actually, MC has requirements to work in the build section. They don't let just anyone work in that section. I've built or replaced parts from my local MC for the last 10+ years and I typically go in with an idea of what I want, but I always get together with an employee in the section just to see what they think. The reality is I'm going in off of reviews, but these guys have the reviews as well as know if there are a lot of returns or unhappy customers on top of it.

When Frys was still around, I loved just walking through and browsing parts. This video gave me feels good memories having talk to ppl and trying to get what I needed for my latest build.

In Southern California, it's not uncommon to run into 'famous' people. Hence how cool everyone was. Very respectful interactions.

As someone who's worked in the film industry in front of the camera, I'd rank meeting Steve over any celeb any day (though I wouldn't gush, I'd treat it as meeting up with a friend) as most of those people are not down to earth whatsoever (save for Keanu on the set of John Wick 1&2, I never came back for 3).

Imagine going to the store to buy a pc and you’re feeling lost and overwhelmed. Then you see fahkin Steve from GN who then proceeds to help you pick out your whole pc.

Love having a Microcenter here in Denver, but the coolest computer/electronics store I've ever been to was Fry's Electronics. We had a few of them in the Bay Area of California, where I grew up. Same extensive stock and great prices, like Microcenter, but each store had an interior decoration theme like a Mayan temple

This is my local Micro Center, literally just down the street; the staff is great and have become good friends of mine. I build 90-100% of my builds directly from this store, they’re great people that care about your build!!

holy cow. I literally walked into my own Microcenter for the first time like a week ago to get a new graphics card. To think someone like that finds GN's Steve just chilling there, no plan.

Best youtube that I have watched in quite some time, much respect to you for helping the guy out, his appreciation was clearly very genuine and it is obvious that changed his world for the better. Microcenter also came across as very useful with very well informed and decent staff.
