@andr3w_496 *most* prebuilts on Amazon arent the greatest value. 90% of the time MC prebuilts are great value, IMO people interested should still look into building so they can learn something new
$608 for that prebuilt was a killer deal. Microcenter is the best. I love building PCs, but their pre-builts are so fairly priced, it's hard to not just take the easy way out.
I have a Micro Center just over an hour away from me, taking toll roads. And I am damn happy about that. That dude that helped with the pre-built was very helpful (they all are) and funny.
Every MicroCenter ad makes me miss Frys even more :(. It makes me miss living in Texas and having both so I could walk in and play around like a kid in a toy store with staff that are awesome and clued in.
I used to love going to frys and it had a weird feel. I would go in 2018-2019 and they would have all the latest stuff and old stuff too. Ie ps4 pro demo next to ps3 demo. And Steve Jobs era iTunes gift cards
You sound like me. I grew up in Austin and there was always a Fry's in north Austin/Almost Roundrock. I did so much pc upgrading at fry's. I live in Denver now with a MicroCenter 20 minutes away. But my family still Lives in Texas and anytime they want PC upgrades they gotta drive 2-3 hours which all things considered isn't bad. We miss Fry's 😥
My girl and I were going thru some issues and we would go to fry’s for sandwiches and tech shopping almost every weekend . It helped, it was a mood. I still got a camera I bought there 😊

He was awesome thought I was gonna be there for hours building a PC for my son, he showed me a PowerSpec pre built that was $300 off, from like $1299 to $899 & a super nice Nitro monitor curved HDR 1440p, I was in & out in 30 mins! 604 for a 4060, 12400F, 1TB and a B760M is an insane value. I built a friend with some similarly spec’d used parts (12400F, 3060 12GB, 1TB SATA, B660) and the MC system is only like $100-ish more. Props to MC.

has anyone else had issues with the fans in montech cases? only have bought about 7 of them over the past 2-3 years and two of them had issues with one of the front fans going bad which caused them to rattle. i gave them a 3rd chance and the back fan had an issue where the lighting would only work on half of the fan but would flicker even when using molex.
You should try this virtually in the UK market you may be pleasantly surprised at how much we get screwed on prices in the UK . I wish we had a micro centre at there prices
i got a PowerSpec i5-9400 pc on ebay for $90 bucks. Threw my RX580 and its chugging along. Still enjoy it. It's basically my daughters gaming pc now. lol

Microcenter open box deals can be really good. I've bough at a few really nice $150 PC cases for like $50-$60 and some DDR4 RAM for super cheap. You're always rolling the dice on getting a bad part but I haven't been personally bitten yet.

Deepcool AK400 has an aluminum contact plate so you can't use LIQUID METAL thermal paste. I bought one thinking it was nickel or copper plated with nickel. BOY DID I FIND OUT DIFFERENTLY!!!!! And once you put it on it's about impossible to get it off. I even had to resort to sandpaper!!! I put it on an old computer, but I have to wonder if it's still growing gunk there.

I literally just built the same computer on Sunday with a 6700xt and a different Lian Li & 32GBs of G Skill as opposed to 16. Runs like a champ.
