I also brought NZXT H9 Elite Case and I just felt in love with it plenty of room at the front of the case and huge amount of space at the back for the cable management I also have a question is it possible to install EAXT Motherboard because I am planning to get AsRock X670e Taichi and I seen the dimensions of the board and it seem I could just fit that Motherboard
Got the same case , i connected the Kraken z53 240mm to the one usb 2.0 header (msi mag x570s carbon max ) with the lcd screen lit up, the 6fans (120mm 3 up top, two on the kraken) and 2 140mm at the bottom , are static white, the NZxt controller and the rgb controller for the 3 f rgb 120mm core fan are connect via a nzxt internal usb hub , but the cam is not showing the fans ,just the kraken , otherwise this is a good case !!
Great video, looking forward to assemble something similar in specs with the same case. Have a question regarding the installation of the CPU cooler. You did it on the side back panel where originally comes the intake fans. Did you exchange those intake fans to the top? and if so, is this more efficient than leaving original fans and setting the CPU cooling chamber and fans on the top? Cheers!
I've read a bit about this and the general consensus seems to be it's better to setup CPU radiator with intake fans on the side of the case. CPUs are more sensitive to overheating, so this allows bringing in cool air from outside the case. Yes, the inside of the case will be hotter, but that's what the other fans are for, to help push that hot air back out. If the CPU radiator is at the top instead, then it would likely want to be configured as exhaust instead of intake, as hot air rises we don't want to push it back down. Now the radiator is pulling in hot air from inside the case instead of cool air from outside which will cause cooling performance for the CPU to suffer, even if the inside of the case overall may be cooler.
These are not standard fans that comes with the Kraken 360 rgb, so you bought the AIO cooler + 3x NZXT F120 RGB DUO, and threw away the core rgb fans that come with it ? Can you make a short video with the normal Kraken 360 config to show what the core RGB looks like together with the F120 RGB (ring) fans that come with the case? Much appreciated. BR from Denmark.

What a wonderfully detailed guide, I like that you took the time to go through some of the airflow options :) I have an NXZT H9 Flow on pre-order (should come next week) and will be doing a blackout style build around the 4090 gamerock omni-black. Can you feed any of the cables from the AIO through the motherboard shroud, for a cleaner look? And do you have to be really careful with the 12v power cable for the 40 series cards? I.e. avoiding bending the cable too much?
I’m curious if there’s any concern for the other NVMe covers not having heat protection? Also awesome video, I’m currently buying all of the parts to my new PC and will definitely be using this video to help me build it!

@@NaniiDesuu the advice is generally not to update bios unless there's an issue. That said sometimes bios updates include essential fixes so it's worth checking the notes.
i’m building my second ever pc, and this video is a literal lifesaver! in depth instructions AND explaining the logic behind things like fans… it’s still insane to me that some of the fans have to be installed in a way that makes them look backwards, but i can live with that lol
In my experience you should NOT mount an AIO cooler on the top of this case because of the tempered glass panel. With only two 140mm fans pushing air through the radiator and the steep 90° angle that the exhaust air needs to run through to get to the vents is, atleast on my system, too much. I come from a Fractal Design Define 7 and with that setup (same amount of fans, positive air pressure) my CPU temps were in the 50°~60° celcius under load. I had the 280mm AIO mounted on the front in a push-pull configuration. Now with the NZXT H9 Elite (same amount of fans but the AIO is mounted on the top. Only place where I could fit it.)I've seen my CPU temps go as high as 95°c under load. In my opinion this is unacceptable but it was partly my fault due to me forgetting to check if my AIO would fit the case. I didn't think that it would have such a huge impact on the temps.
When you say at 2:23 that it requires 'lifting', and that if you aren't careful the panel will break, you aren't kidding - the diagrams on the leaflet that come with the case incorrectly indicate the panel should be rotated *downward*, and if you actually follow these instructions it will break the panel immediately, which is what I did with the very first attempt to open the case. Not necessarily anything wrong with the case design, but whoever wrote the installation instructions should lose their job.
Great video, i was inspired by you build and built a similar setup but i have the kracken elite 360, amd 7800 cpu, mp700 gen 5, Radeon XFX 24 XFX Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24GB, corsair vengeance rgb 6000 cl30 and asus X670 E. i was dissapointed the krackon elite 360 didnt have the same fans as the case. My only critique of your build is you put to much tension on your cables connected to your motherboard. they need to be a nice smooth curve so it doesn't damage the strands of copper inside. As my old M.O.D electronic instrutor used to say it's wire forming not forcing.
Nice, I didn't know why the controller didn't work (fans not spinning and rgb not working), turns out I didn't connect the controller with the power supply via sata (this should be in the user manual but isn't).
good evening, this is by far the best video on the build for the h9 elite, i have a quick question, I connected everything, and I get power to the motherboard its an asus strix b550 gaming wifi but i dont get power anywhere else, I have already checked all connections and tried moving the front panel and audio panel connections on the board but they cant be moved. I press the power button and nothing happens. thanks for any tips
I'm planning on getting the H9 elite and Triple Pack Duo, can I connect the power of the triple pack to the hub included in the H9 elite? So the triple pack, 3 duo included in the case and 3 more duo power to the hub? And then he 6 rgb and 3 rgb in the pack?

My Nzxt fans 120 rgb duo for mounting fans on the bottom. I’m having trouble doing so. My screws don’t work. They seem short or too loose. Has anyone else ran into this issue
I watch this video way before, but the question I have is that is it still good for airflow because I noticed the air flow on the top towards the edge while the rest is glass. I love the aesthetic, but I’m concern abt the airflow 😣

I'd like to inquire if you would consider making a "How to" build video around the Asus ProArt Z790 Wireless motherboard along with the AMD 7900XTX for those of us who work with video editing? Also I am currently at a loss as to why one can't use 4 sticks of DDR5 using 128GB or why no one provides DDR5 kit of 2X 64GB DDR5 Dims for a possible solution and thus running the memory at it's rated speed. Again thanks for this video I wish I had seen this first before purchasing NZXT H7 Elite! oh well live and learn btw NZXT H7 Elite is a fine case. I don't think I can meet those specific needs tbh. However, regarding the RAM, DDR5 is still in its early stages and it seems many boards are having trouble supporting DDR5 with four sticks in place or with XMP on or both. It can cause stability issues and even prevent booting. Even with this machine, funnily enough, I could get it to boot with four sticks of 16GB!

I am plannig to get h9 elite in a week but the thing is i really like the lian li latest infinity fans will the mixture of both nzxt fans and lian li fans look good in this case
You can use splitters in the power, so you can have 9 fan power but only 6 RGB. Yes it makes no sense. You have to get another controller or use the RGB hub as well mostly.
Hey provoked prawn! I’m actively building something very similar right now. At around 27 minutes you say the motherboard needs 8 screws, 3 on the top, 2 in the middle, 3 on the bottom. I don’t see the third hole on the bottom? Am I missing something?

Thankyou! My teen son and I watched so many videos and even googled and could not figure out which way to face the fan on the PSU. Wasnt sure if it should suck fresh air from outside, through the psu and out or face the fan into the case and draw air from within the case and out.
In case you build this with Lian Li Uni fans V2, I mounted my aio with Uni fans at the top and the cpu power cables were touching the fans, It resorted to me mounting my AIO on the side . Those using NZXT fans with a top mounted aio did not have this issue however they were still pretty tight. I still prefer Lian Li 11 Dynamic Evo as you can use any brand of fans and have enough space
i kinda dont know what to do i ordered 2 3 x nzxt fan packs with this case does the h9 elite controller have enough splitters to connect al fans and i dont mean rgb if not what i do
Loved the videos!! I’m going to be building my first pc and all of the parts are pretty much going to be the same as what you used except for the GPU and the fans. I’ll have 10 fans in total (3x up the top, 3x down the bottom, 1x on the back and the 3 on the radiator. Will I need to buy a usb header splitter in order to connect all of the fans or will the case controller and motherboard have enough connections? I’ll have 2 RGB controllers included with the fans as well.
Hello, I have one question about the aio…is there any difference by pull or push the air through the aio? Because right now I have a setup that my aio is on the top pushing (exhaust) the hot air from de case to outside but I’m about to get a new case where I will have to put the aio on the side like this video and will have to put on pull to get enough cool air on my system .. thank you and keep going! Hi, I would like to ask you regarding the new Kraken Elite and RGB fans from NZXT. Is there a way to set a custom colour profile in memory? So that I don't need to fire up NZXT CAM every time just for the colour profile.
Question for you! I plan on getting this case, z73 rgb cooler (Using fans it came with) and getting 4 120 rgb fans (10 total rgb) I know you said that it supports up to 9 fans the controller, but you said that the fans that came with the cooler are Daisey channed. Does that mean that i could use 10 potential fans on that controller if I use the stock fans that come with the z73 cooler? or does the cooler each fan have a rgb header and power header?
In my haste to order all my PC parts…I went and ordered the new Corsair Shift PSU with the connectors on the side of the PSU not thinking about placement in the case. Just checked how you have to mount the PSU with the fan towards the side of the case…does that mean that the Corsair shift PSU won’t be able to be fitted in this case due to how they have the power cables on the side of the unit? So they will effectively be coming out of the top of the PSU? I have no idea if you can even mount this PSU on its side, i.e. does that mean it’s incompatible with the new H9 cases?
I believe the shift will work in this case, just plug the connectors into the psu, with the psu out of the case. Then fit the psu into the case with the connections at the top and the fan near the back of the case as normal.

Do not quite understand. Does Fan hub that includes support all 9 fans to RGB? Or does it only support 6 RGB fans? Why is there room for 9 when you can only connect RGB to 6 of them?
Where did you installed the default fan (the fan offert with the case) ? I mean If plug it to the port on nzxt cam it's not detected I mean the fan is runing but I can't see the rpm it's like 0 rpm

I have read in many places that the radiator pipe connection should be at the bottom, otherwise the air bubbles will stay on the top of the radiator and at the pipe connection, making a sound like an aquarium. Why did you finally decide to place the aio radiator this way?
@@TheProvokedPrawn Got it. Well, just asking based on other things out there that uses radiators... We always want to blow air on it and then out of the machine, cooling the liquid. Blowing hot air inside the case looks weird to me. In your video you haven't tested exaclty what I'm thinking for my setup (same case): intake from the bottom with higher RPM, exhaust on the back, up and side. The side one gonna be a pull/push AIO. 13 120mm fans in total "Each setup is a different setup" (or something like this), as you've said, but just wondering

After months have passed would this pc set up with how the fans are or even possibly a push-pull set up retain heat since the top part of the pc is tempered glass?
Very detailed tutorial. However I have some questions if you don't mind to answer :) 1. I'm planning on buying Z73 RGB and stick with the AER fans. Do they need to be plugged separately to RGB headers on the controller like the F120 ? 2. So as I mentioned I would then have 3x AER fans from AIO and 6x F120 DUO from Triple Pack and 1x Default Rear fan from the case itself. Would V2 controller provide enough fan and rgb ports? 3. Is there any downside to vertical mount the GPU instead of horizontal?

I am installing both a Gen 5 M.2 and a Gen 4 M.2, Should I put my operating system on the gen 5 and games on the gen 4 or other way around?
I think NZXT has regressed by having two cables per RGB fan, and having proprietary RGB connectors. That's like Corsair!

I was gonna have one 2tb with the heat sink and then 1tb m.2 7000mbs on a non heat sink but it’s my first pc and I’m nervous 😂

i’m building my second ever pc, and this video is a literal lifesaver! in depth instructions AND explaining the logic behind things like fans… it’s still insane to me that some of the fans have to be installed in a way that makes them look backwards, but i can live with that lol
Glad to help! There's such a thing as reverse blade fans but not from NZXT sadly. Those solve the backwards look.
So can I use all Power Subblies? Because currently I have an Azza 850 Watt Modular Power Subbly?

In my experience you should NOT mount an AIO cooler on the top of this case because of the tempered glass panel. With only two 140mm fans pushing air through the radiator and the steep 90° angle that the exhaust air needs to run through to get to the vents is, atleast on my system, too much.
I come from a Fractal Design Define 7 and with that setup (same amount of fans, positive air pressure) my CPU temps were in the 50°~60° celcius under load. I had the 280mm AIO mounted on the front in a push-pull configuration.
Now with the NZXT H9 Elite (same amount of fans but the AIO is mounted on the top. Only place where I could fit it.)I've seen my CPU temps go as high as 95°c under load. In my opinion this is unacceptable but it was partly my fault due to me forgetting to check if my AIO would fit the case. I didn't think that it would have such a huge impact on the temps.
When you say at 2:23 that it requires 'lifting', and that if you aren't careful the panel will break, you aren't kidding - the diagrams on the leaflet that come with the case incorrectly indicate the panel should be rotated *downward*, and if you actually follow these instructions it will break the panel immediately, which is what I did with the very first attempt to open the case. Not necessarily anything wrong with the case design, but whoever wrote the installation instructions should lose their job.

I think the logic for the extra fan/aio tray was for people just upgrading they’re case that already have a 280mm radiator
Great video, i was inspired by you build and built a similar setup but i have the kracken elite 360, amd 7800 cpu, mp700 gen 5, Radeon XFX 24 XFX Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24GB, corsair vengeance rgb 6000 cl30 and asus X670 E. i was dissapointed the krackon elite 360 didnt have the same fans as the case. My only critique of your build is you put to much tension on your cables connected to your motherboard. they need to be a nice smooth curve so it doesn't damage the strands of copper inside. As my old M.O.D electronic instrutor used to say it's wire forming not forcing.
Nice, I didn't know why the controller didn't work (fans not spinning and rgb not working), turns out I didn't connect the controller with the power supply via sata (this should be in the user manual but isn't).
good evening, this is by far the best video on the build for the h9 elite, i have a quick question, I connected everything, and I get power to the motherboard its an asus strix b550 gaming wifi but i dont get power anywhere else, I have already checked all connections and tried moving the front panel and audio panel connections on the board but they cant be moved. I press the power button and nothing happens. thanks for any tips
I'm planning on getting the H9 elite and Triple Pack Duo, can I connect the power of the triple pack to the hub included in the H9 elite? So the triple pack, 3 duo included in the case and 3 more duo power to the hub? And then he 6 rgb and 3 rgb in the pack?
so im gonna get a custom prebuilt from NZXT and im getting a I9 14900k and a 4090, the cooler i got is the kraken 360 elite and 2 F140 duo rgb will that be good enough for cooling?

My Nzxt fans 120 rgb duo for mounting fans on the bottom. I’m having trouble doing so. My screws don’t work. They seem short or too loose. Has anyone else ran into this issue
I watch this video way before, but the question I have is that is it still good for airflow because I noticed the air flow on the top towards the edge while the rest is glass. I love the aesthetic, but I’m concern abt the airflow

okay so 8 rgb fans. 6 rgb channels on the controller + 1 rgb connection on the motherboard = 7 rgb. where did the last rgb connection go?
So your fans and everything are white and like your parts or are they black bc I have black parts and idk if I can go well with it with this case

Thank you for providing us with one of the finest "How to" videos I've seen to date. I'd like to inquire if you would consider making a "How to" build video around the Asus ProArt Z790 Wireless motherboard along with the AMD 7900XTX for those of us who work with video editing? Also I am currently at a loss as to why one can't use 4 sticks of DDR5 using 128GB or why no one provides DDR5 kit of 2X 64GB DDR5 Dims for a possible solution and thus running the memory at it's rated speed. Again thanks for this video I wish I had seen this first before purchasing NZXT H7 Elite! oh well live and learn btw NZXT H7 Elite is a fine case. Thanks again and continued success to you and your channel.
I don't think I can meet those specific needs tbh. However, regarding the RAM, DDR5 is still in its early stages and it seems many boards are having trouble supporting DDR5 with four sticks in place or with XMP on or both. It can cause stability issues and even prevent booting. Even with this machine, funnily enough, I could get it to boot with four sticks of 16GB!

I am plannig to get h9 elite in a week but the thing is i really like the lian li latest infinity fans will the mixture of both nzxt fans and lian li fans look good in this case
i have this case but the nzxt fan hub confuses me. 3 of the slots are for fans and 6 for rgb? wouldnt it make more sense if it was 4 fan and 4 rgb?
You can use splitters in the power, so you can have 9 fan power but only 6 RGB. Yes it makes no sense. You have to get another controller or use the RGB hub as well mostly.

Hey provoked prawn! I’m actively building something very similar right now. At around 27 minutes you say the motherboard needs 8 screws, 3 on the top, 2 in the middle, 3 on the bottom. I don’t see the third hole on the bottom? Am I missing something?

Thankyou! My teen son and I watched so many videos and even googled and could not figure out which way to face the fan on the PSU. Wasnt sure if it should suck fresh air from outside, through the psu and out or face the fan into the case and draw air from within the case and out.

In case you build this with Lian Li Uni fans V2, I mounted my aio with Uni fans at the top and the cpu power cables were touching the fans, It resorted to me mounting my AIO on the side . Those using NZXT fans with a top mounted aio did not have this issue however they were still pretty tight. I still prefer Lian Li 11 Dynamic Evo as you can use any brand of fans and have enough space

Loved the videos!! I’m going to be building my first pc and all of the parts are pretty much going to be the same as what you used except for the GPU and the fans. I’ll have 10 fans in total (3x up the top, 3x down the bottom, 1x on the back and the 3 on the radiator. Will I need to buy a usb header splitter in order to connect all of the fans or will the case controller and motherboard have enough connections? I’ll have 2 RGB controllers included with the fans as well.

If you've got an ATX motherboard you don't need to install any extra. They should already be there

Because right now I have a setup that my aio is on the top pushing (exhaust) the hot air from de case to outside but I’m about to get a new case where I will have to put the aio on the side like this video and will have to put on pull to get enough cool air on my system .. thank you and keep going! Hi Provoked Prawn I have the NZXT T120 air cooler installed, (Cant get the NZXT Kraken Z73) if i use the NZXT Vertical GPU mount will I have problems with the GPU touching the air cooler, I have the H9 Elite case, also the MSI 4080 gaming trio GPU, new to all this btw 👍
Why would you pull the warm air from the radiator in th case and not blowing it out?! Top and bottom fans in. left and right fans out

Hi, I would like to ask you regarding the new Kraken Elite and RGB fans from NZXT. Is there a way to set a custom colour profile in memory? So that I don't need to fire up NZXT CAM every time just for the colour profile.

Question for you! I plan on getting this case, z73 rgb cooler (Using fans it came with) and getting 4 120 rgb fans (10 total rgb) I know you said that it supports up to 9 fans the controller, but you said that the fans that came with the cooler are Daisey channed. Does that mean that i could use 10 potential fans on that controller if I use the stock fans that come with the z73 cooler? or does the cooler each fan have a rgb header and power header?
How many extra fans I need to buy for the H9 Elite Case to have 10 fans lit up towards the inside with the correct air flow ? @TheProvokedPrawn
In my haste to order all my PC parts…I went and ordered the new Corsair Shift PSU with the connectors on the side of the PSU not thinking about placement in the case. Just checked how you have to mount the PSU with the fan towards the side of the case…does that mean that the Corsair shift PSU won’t be able to be fitted in this case due to how they have the power cables on the side of the unit? So they will effectively be coming out of the top of the PSU? I have no idea if you can even mount this PSU on its side, i.e. does that mean it’s incompatible with the new H9 cases?
I believe the shift will work in this case, just plug the connectors into the psu, with the psu out of the case. Then fit the psu into the case with the connections at the top and the fan near the back of the case as normal.

Do not quite understand. Does Fan hub that includes support all 9 fans to RGB? Or does it only support 6 RGB fans? Why is there room for 9 when you can only connect RGB to 6 of them?
You'd have to ask NZXT about that. I agree it's illogical
But in 45:00 I see that you have RGB on all fans. That's how it should work as long as you don't buy extra hubs or fans.@@TheProvokedPrawn
Will the vertical gpu mount have sagging? I have a ASUS ROG STRIX OC 4090; not sure if I need to get a GPU support
100 bucks for the vertical GPU mount is imo just insane! Should be included when you spend this much on a premium case.

Where did you installed the default fan (the fan offert with the case) ? I mean If plug it to the port on nzxt cam it's not detected I mean the fan is runing but I can't see the rpm it's like 0 rpm

I have read in many places that the radiator pipe connection should be at the bottom, otherwise the air bubbles will stay on the top of the radiator and at the pipe connection, making a sound like an aquarium. Why did you finally decide to place the aio radiator this way?

@@TheProvokedPrawn Got it. Well, just asking based on other things out there that uses radiators... We always want to blow air on it and then out of the machine, cooling the liquid. Blowing hot air inside the case looks weird to me.
In your video you haven't tested exaclty what I'm thinking for my setup (same case): intake from the bottom with higher RPM, exhaust on the back, up and side. The side one gonna be a pull/push AIO. 13 120mm fans in total

After months have passed would this pc set up with how the fans are or even possibly a push-pull set up retain heat since the top part of the pc is tempered glass?
Very detailed tutorial. However I have some questions if you don't mind to answer :)
1. I'm planning on buying Z73 RGB and stick with the AER fans. Do they need to be plugged separately to RGB headers on the controller like the F120 ?
2. So as I mentioned I would then have 3x AER fans from AIO and 6x F120 DUO from Triple Pack and 1x Default Rear fan from the case itself. Would V2 controller provide enough fan and rgb ports?
3. Is there any downside to vertical mount the GPU instead of horizontal?
