I'm feeling the same way. 14tho brand new, 2018 no miles. Its hard not to look at one. Longhaul Paul road the full dressed version of this bike and did 120,000 miles with no issues. Im thinkin bout getting the black one.
Hey James, which Harley are you riding presently, and what makes you want off? Just curious. By now you've probably seen the new Indian Challenger, that bike and the Eluder are on my radar. Im thinking bang for buck, the Eluder is the best buy.
I drove 300 miles to drive the K1600GTL and was impressed but after I rode the Star Venture TC I was hooked. This bike keeps getting better and better. The GTL is top heavy and VERY expensive (to me) to maintain. There are some real smoking deals on the 2018 models, worth a drive to get one.
Seems like a decent bike, but way too much coin and too little top end for all that weight. I don't need a race bike, but when I wanna pass, I wanna pass. I heard one and they do sound exceptional. Brake lights are so low, I'd be afraid trucks and other high riding vehicles wouldn't see them. Especially if they're riding your butt. Love the riding position, built in GPS and XM radio. I like the look of the silver one too.
I'm sure it will pass briskly from 45 mph. But how briskly does it pass from 70 mph? The big problem with those engines in general is running out of revs. First time I took a cruiser to the mountains, I wanted to pass line of Harleys. Got about half way around them, hit the rev limiter and had to join them for awhile. It's a bigger deal to me on the highway though. I once demo'd a Mean Streak that I like well at the time...until some trucks boxed me in uncomfortably because it didn't have the power to get me out of that developing situation. Consequently, I never owned a Mean Streak.
What's up Saddlebag - this motor makes a ton of torque. So it's going to provide good passing power in any gear, right off the bottom. This thing passes and cruise at top gear at 100 mph very well. Really pleased with the engine character in this one. On another note, I just published another video on the Eluder. Make sure to check it out!
So, you say you don't need a race bike, but the problems you seem to be having would suggest otherwise. It really sounds like you've been choosing the wrong kind of bike based on your riding style. If you need to "pass briskly" from 70 mph, maybe you should be riding a sport bike or sport tourer. Lets face it they call them cruisers for a reason. Every vehicle has it's limitations based on what the manufacturer designs it to be used for. These engines are not meant to be high revving, that's why all the torque is down low in the rev range, by design. It's not a problem if you understand how a v twin develops it's power as well as it's limitations in doing so. You're just setting yourself up for disappointment if you expect a v twin cruiser to perform like an inline 4 sport touring bike. An FJR1300 is less coin than an Eluder, and you'd have more power than you could ever want. Have a good one and ride safe.
I've owned cruisers. In fact, I owned a Warrior. It had no problem chugging along at 80 mph and getting around situations as necessary. Owned a Victory too. It was the same. It's just that this one is so heavy and redlines so low, I'd fear getting halfway around someone and banging it off the rev limiter. I did have that happen trying to pass a long pack of bikers down in the mountains on the Vic once and it bugged me. I owned an FJR for several years and about 60k miles. It was a nice bike with flawless durability. I much prefer the body position of the Victory and its throbby twin...except when passing briskly. These are nice bikes. My wife sat on the Venture's pillion and loved it. She wouldn't complain if she came home to find one in the garage. To me, it's ergos felt just like my old VIctory, which is a good thing. Then again, BMW makes a damn nice 1600 Amurika model that is smooth, comfy, and if you stick your arms out to the side, will take flight. They need to go back to the crayon box, but aside from that, it'd be hard not to take it for touring duty.
I wish the Voyager could have its trunk removavle to convert it to the Eluder as the rider chooses in the same way some BMW bikes do. I would not want the BMW.
I've always loved the front end aesthetics of this bike, and now I know why.
@@ApexMotow Unquestionably the best. Reminds me of the front end of a 1960s Firebird
I think they should offer a matching top box for it and include the reverse as an option...
Im seeing them going for $14000 brand new, was looking at a used Harley Road Glide, but this thing is calling my name.
That's a fair price.

@@angrymotorman1237 Swipe it man.
Did you get it?
Salute
thank you for the ride, and your commentary as you ae riding the bike was great. yours kevin
Thanks man.
Awesome video, thanks for sharing!
Great review. Well spoken. Thankful.
1971 CUDA!
That's the look I couldn't put my finger on it.
Yup.
Good analogy. My eyes always saw the similarly to a late 60s Firebird
Interesting bike. I see Yamaha has not offered it after the 2018 model year. I hope it’s not gone for good.
Wish it kept the electric wind screen. Was looking for a Victory Vision replacement
Adam does good reviews.
I like gold wing ❤
Excellent review! What's the top speed? How is passing from 80 mph on? Wyoming Interstate speed limits are 80mph & lots of big rigs to pass.
can you add an electric shield?
Nice review for a potential buyer!
Great - thanks for watching.
Is there a part 2?
You tend to use your back brakes over the front brakes?
Initial testers all said the engine heat burned their leg.
This is a false statement. The engine heat did not burn my leg.
You never mentioned that it was a hoot to ride? I am starting to wonder now....
Of course it is fun - it's a motorcycle with a big huge V-Twin engine.
I'take the kawasaki vulcan s abs with shield and baggs much litter and good speed .
Where are you riding? Looks like socal desert
Yes, Anza-Borrengo area near Julian.
Good video. I like the Bike. I'm dying to get away from Harley. Looking at the K1600B or this one.

Adam Waheed I don’t have problem to understand English just get your gears to do this shit right !!
@@AdamWaheed wow Adam no need to be so rough bud. The wind sound is really annoying and hampered your otherwise good review.
