I was amazed by this bike, literally bought the Eluder after taking a good test ride. To bad it is not popular like H-D, because I like this bike better than my previous big name bagger.
From what I've been reading and seeing, it's a torque monster. No high rpms on this machine so the HP readings are low. Pulls from idle with tons of torque instead. Short shifting is recommended.
Unfortunately numerous actual Owners of the 2018 SVTC/Eluder models have been pressing Yamaha concerning the question of why no 2019 models are being offered (out of obvious concern). Yamaha has officially responded to those inquiries with letters stating that due to poor sales, no 2019's will be made and the future beyond 19 of the models will remain questionable based on whether or not the left over inventory of 2018's sell during the 2019 riding season. They have also been told that even if the model does go back to production it will be strickly done by a new "Yamaha Pre-Order System" and no bikes will be shipped to fill dealership floor space.
funny. i was acutally waiting to see that there was going to be further production before buying one. but if they are on the fence about it, then Ill just buy a HD.
Why should it be water cooled? The engine is more than 1.8l and only produce 75bhp. Water cooling would be overkill and add excess weight and complexity. And really what do you have against air cooling?
A water cooled engine will produce more power than a non water cooled engine due to lower intake charged temperatures.....Harleys are now water cooled. These big engines are not about HP but Torque
Might be news to you mate but the new Harley 107 engines are water cooled 4valves per cylinder OHV...........I have one (Ultra)and love it even allowing for the 400 kg weight the bike is nimble and very responsive to throttle input.I am not bagging the Yamaha I am just very surprised that they have gone down this road.....snake
This is my dream bike ever since I rode it in 2019.

best review I've seen. Was expecting better numbers to the wheel. Beautiful bike.

Yes please.
Is it 111 or 126 torque?

Great review . Nice bike.
Nicely done!
You forgot to mention aluminum frame why would you not mentioned aluminum frame
Is that good or bad?
Real puff piece.
It's a good looking bike, too bad they can't sell them.
Too bad it's not liquid cooled. I'd love a large displacement liquid cooled V-Twin, that can still tour. Air cooled is technology from 1953.
so is penicillin
1 less thing to break.
Buang Scorpio....
Nobody really wants an air cooled bike. Lol
False. Nobody wants an unreliable air cooled bike. Yamaha V-twins are incredibly reliable and just downright sweet.
Yeah, nobody buys HD street glides either!!
Should’ve been water cooled and reverse, low HP I’ll pass
They obviously are competing against the HD Streetglide which those HP/Torque numbers beat the SG.
Not water cooled ...............bizarre

Harleys are water cooled? News to me.

Ya I looked into it after I wrote that. lol. It's not like other bikes though is it? It's just the cylinder heads or something.
