thank you very much for this video, probably saved me lots of money. You can find the replacement part on amazon, shipped the next day, takes 15 min to replace. The hardest part is to remove the 2 screws
HUGE thumbs up! Remove the bolts first and THEN disconnect the wire. Lots of videos on this fix, but this was the only one that worked for me. Thanks!!
Thanks for the info - just fixed mine - I was getting ready to replace the actual air condition heating control in the car I stumbled across this video I appreciate your time making this video
Checking in to say Thank You for this instructive video! I was thinking I'd be looking a a huge repair bill but hubby was able to fix my Escape in under 1/2 hour. :-)
Thanks for this tutorial. I was able to make the repair for a cost of only $22. I have to admit that it was difficult removing and replacing the screws.
Thank you very much! This let me fix a problem my mother has had for years for $24. We bought from the more expensive store because they have a lifetime warranty on these and said people usually have to do it every 2-4 years with the Ford Escapes. I quickly fixed her 2008 Escape myself. Thank you.
thanks for the video, taking the screws out first was a good tip, but I didnt have the right tools for it, had to unplug it first. Took me forever to unscrew and put back in.
Thanks a lot! Saved me time. Was going to take out the console first and test switch. I like how my Escape seems to have same issues like other peoples Escape 🤔
This is what is wrong with the company vehicle. I've had this problem before on other vehicles but your video shows where to look. Going to ask the boss to buy the part and let me fix it, should win a bunch of brownie points! Cheers mate!
Thanks a bunch. I went looking for a solution that I thought would involve taking the radio out. Turns out to be less than five minutes from start to finish.
Great video! After watching it, I ordered the part ($17) and once I got it, it took about 30 to replace it, only because the location of the screws, but I was able to do it and the ac is back to normal, working beautifully at all speeds. How much would it have cost if I took the car to a shop??? Very helpful video - thank you so much!
I can only guess since I am not working on your vehicle, so if the blower is only working on the highest speed I would next check the wiring harness, and they sell the replacement ones. I wish you the best on your repair
Has worked in the past but not this time. 09 Mariner which is basically the ford escape. Doesn't work at any speed 1 thru 4. New resistor no luck. Looked for fuses. Any thoughts?
You may want to unplug the resistor pack and then try the blower, (will blow on high only) if it works you may want to look at the wire harness to the resistor. If still doesn't work try unplugging the blower motor check it see if getting power with a volt meter. If you have a good 12 volts try turning it on with the cabin air filter removed. If that doesn't work you may want to try powering the blower motor directly to see if your motor is the issue. I wish you the best on your repair
I have opposite problem on 2014 Escape. The blower motor cuts out at highway speeds, cool air still barely comes out the dash, but no air blowing. Works fine in city driving. Any suggestion? No check engine light is on.
I have never worked on a Fiesta, yet they do have a resistor pack to control the speeds, and it may look different than what i showed in this video. I wish you the very best on your repair.
Took the resistor off and found no bubbling on the part. I turned the car on and the blower still worked???..only on high like before. Does that mean the resistor is not bad? Maybe it is in the dash..behind the knob?
The resistor pack is what controls the speed of the blower. It is likely that it is your resistor pack gone bad if the wiring connection looks in good shape. I wish you the best on your repair
I believe the blower resistor is on a high amperage circuit with the blower motor, and not on the same circuit as the radio. I wish you the best on your repair.
Does this work on the 2014 Escape. My AC will be blowing one minute then it stops. The sound it makes when it stops is like when you turn the defroster on. You can still feel the cold at the vents but it stops blowing. Sometimes if I turn the AC completely off for a few minutes and turn it back on it works again for a short time
Ok, when i switched out the resistor i didnt put it back in the slot and let it hang behind. Ill grab another one and also grab a new filter and see what happens
I have a 2008 ford escape and i have the same problem so i change that part and it was working for couple of weeks and the problem came back...can you give me some advice please
because I can not see your car, I can only guess, and I would check the wiring connection. They sell the new connector at Oreilly Auto. I wish you the best in fixing your Escape
This repair is for the blower speeds, you may have a blend door actuator issue that you may want to investigate that further. I wish you the best on your repair
Anyone have any thoughts for this - my Fan Blower (2008 Ford Escape) intermittently fails and fails on ALL speeds fail (not just the lower or higher settings). I replaced the resistor pack and it seemed to be resolved for a day or two then back to working intermittently. A few weeks after I replaced the resistor pack my wife noticed the Fuel Gauge only showed 3/4 full after a fill-up. The Fan wasn't working at that time. A day later the fan was working and the fuel gauge showed a full tank. That particular combo of events has only happened once. I wondered if both items are on the same circuit/relay (can’t be a fuse or they’d just fail 100%) may be they’re on the same relay?? I checked the Owner’s Manual and I’m not finding a common link.
I have a 2017 Ford Escape S/2.5L....I have to replace the fan speed resistor (blower motor resistor). Videos on u-tube show how to do it up to year 2012. Can anyone tell me where it is located on a 2017
I am not certain the exact location on the Focus, and the part number is different than the one on the Escape. It most likely is behind the glove box, yet I have not changed the resistor pack on a Focus. Best of luck to you on your repair
typically the fan will run on full speed only when the resistor fails. you may wish to check the fuse to the fan then wiring harness for the resistor and blower motor before changing any parts. I wish you the best on your repair.
I replaced the same part in my 2008 escape today july 19 2020. But when I turn the dial. It's all 1 speed. All high speed not sure why. All I know is I never should have bought this junk suv. I feel like this is the first of many problems ahead. ( F O R D ) Fix Or Repair Daily
The 1st generation Escape uses a different part than shown in this video. it is located on the passenger side, to get to it remove the panel under the glove box. I wish you the best on your repair
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I followed your video and was able to make the repair itself. My wife is blown away.
Glad it helped
thank you very much for this video, probably saved me lots of money.

Thank you for the easy but explicit instructions especially how to get the plug out.
Glad you liked the video
My 2009 Escape now has a working blower motor again. $17 and 25 minutes of freezing my butt off but well worth. Thank you so much for posting this!!
glad to help

Very true
Was able to swap out the part in under 10 minutes from start to finish. Thank you

Thank you, great clear instructions and took me about an hour to do. Hardest part was getting at the screws because of the location of them.
Glad to hear this was helpful
What's the best way to get the screws out. I'm on an hour now.🙄
Oh wow. Something that's bothered me for a very long time can be resolved so easily! Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you for this easy to follow video. Probably saved me at least $100 to do it myself.
Glad it helped
Thanks, far better than another video where thhe guy said just pull the wire harness off first without saying there is a locking clip.
glad to hear you liked this video
Thank you so much! I followed your instructions and now my blowers work! 👍🏻 you rock!
Great to hear!
Thanks for this video. It was a bit awkward reaching the screws but I saved a trip to the mechanic and the ensuing repair bill.
Glad to hear this helped you fix your vehicle
what did you use to get the screws out, i'm having issues :/
@@joejenkins9181 TBH I can't recall.
Thank you. You're a life saver, my 08 escape has same issues, and fan speeds have slowly gone bad. Now I know what to do.
Glad to hear this was helpful. I wish you the best on your repair

good video. Thanks for this info. With your reference I was able to repair my vehicle problem. Keep more videos coming.

did it work?
Amazon. It worked great. Had to drill new holes, but easy adjustment.
Thank you,it works the same way on my Mazda Tribute 2009.
Tribute is built by Ford and Mazda badging is added.
Worked perfect, thanks for the video. What a pain in the butt to remove those screws though.
Glad to hear it worked out for you
Thank you, I got the same problem. I'm going to try it. Very helpful video 👍

Great to hear!
Thanks man! I'm about to try this fix since my car has the same symptoms

Does this fix work for a 2007 ford escape as well?
your fix will be similar, yet the blower resistor will look different than the one in this video. I wish you the best on your repair
Thank you guy!! 😊👍
Could a bad resistor blow a fuse for my radio? The radio stopped working at the same time my lower settings stopped working on my blower? Thanks!
I believe the blower resistor is on a high amperage circuit with the blower motor, and not on the same circuit as the radio. I wish you the best on your repair.

I already tried that a couple weeks ago hoping it would fix it but it didnt
The fix in my video is for the fan speeds. You have an issue unrelated to the fan speeds. I wish you the best in fixing your Escape.
I just replaced mine and it worked at first few trys. next morning it went out again. only works on speed 4 again. any suggestions?
Double check your cabin air filter, the blower resistor needs plenty of air flow, next you may wish to look closer at the wire harness connector.
Ok, when i switched out the resistor i didnt put it back in the slot and let it hang behind. Ill grab another one and also grab a new filter and see what happens
My Ford fiesta has the same problem as your video suggests. I know yours is an Escape but do you think the resistor pack is the problem? Thanks
that would be my guess, and only a guess since I am not by your car. I wish you the best of luck on your repair
