2020 Explorer How to replace AWD Module

- Today we are installing a AWD module on a 2020 explorer due from no communication with module and a bunch of different fault lights. This is a common issue on 2020+ Ford Explorers. Please like and subscribe thanks for watching!

It’s FDRS I believe it stands for Ford Diagnostic Repair System you can get it as a consumer but it’s pretty pricey I work for the dealership and they provide it. Look up some videos online if you are interested in getting one. The cheaper route would be to have a dealer program it after you replace it.

If mine is the XLT version, it does not have AWD and the same error appeared, is it the same fault?
I would not think it is the same fault. All of them that I have seen have been AWD
Just happened to my explorer! Will the car still drive after you take the module out? If I have a problem updating the new module?
I would not drive the car without updated the module. The front diffs in these cars have electronics on the diff that module runs them. I’m not sure if it would hurt it. But I wouldn’t risk it cause the Differentials are expensive.

@@shynaia225 ended up ordering it from local ford dealership parts department. I was going to install myself but you then have to buy the programming chord. I tried but it was never delivered and got a refund. Just had the dealership do the installation and programming. About $350.
@@shynaia225 hopefully Ford will come out with a recall for this and can get refunded… but for now, we have to eat the cost

I don’t know how much the tow kit is probably around $1500 and around 4 hours to install.
What’s the part number ?
