Don't let the dealership charge you $50 dollars to tell you the outside keypad code to unlock the doors. Remove the fuse cover by the drivers left foot. Look inside with a flashlight for a label that has 5 numbers on it. That's you code and you've saved $50 dollars.

Nice Tips. You might also mention that the vehicle has a funnel that is absolutely necessary to use, if a driver needs/wants to add some fuel additive (injector cleaner) or needs to add fuel from an external tank (ie, they accidentally ran out of gas and had someone take them to get some). It's located in the spare tire compartment, driver side.
The automatic rear seat back (let down) buttons are in the same vicinity and thus, it would be good to mention that in the same process. If a driver tries to add fuel additives without that funnel, the additive will spill out and drip all down the side of vehicle. I found that out the hard way. The funnel acts as a special sized key to release/open tbe fuel cap.

  • @georgehny

Jorge, Although I was aware of all, your presentation was still of great value to me. This was true especially of the dead battery on key fob demo. Seeing it actually done was far better than simply reading the manual on the how to. Was also great to actually see on camera the active grill function. I watch a lot of car video demo's and reviews and yours was definitely in the top 1% for content and delivery. You do a smooth and enjoyable presentation! I traded my 2016 Edge Titanium for my now 2019 Edge SEL equip with co-pilot, convenience and winter pckgs. The only thing I miss not going Titanium is the memory seats. LOVE the EDGE obviously, new Edge fantastic. I have a couple minor BUT's tough. Like the room the dial transmission makes available on the console but admit not too fond of nor getting used to a dial versus shift lever. The Start/Stop engine HATE IT!! I know must have been added by Ford for compliance with mpg regs or something but really uncomfortable with a car that turns off the engine when I stop at light etc. Despite the claims that no starter, battery, etc damage I don't believe it. Also not heavy duty components etc added to car and cost for this system. Yes I know switch off at console but ON by default annoying! Now my last really annoying though tiniest of things. The rear cargo cover over that great storage and spare area. They removed the little hook/strap to hold it up when lifting for access to storage area. WHY??? I know save .20 cents per car but how annoying to have to hold it up with one hand or remove it entirely from car when accessing. Little things do count when we all pay these kinds of numbers for new vehicles now!! Thanks for the tips.
    George in NY

Jorge, just got my second Ford Edge (it's a pre-owned 2022) and the tips you showed in this video are terrific, especially the hands-free parking. Now that Ford no longer provides a hard copy owners manual, it is sometimes frustrating to find what you're looking for on the dashboard screen; who knew that slot for the key fob even existed? I'm glad I found this video and thank you for providing these tips in such an easy to understand way.

Jorge! Just picked up a used 2019 Edge. My second one, and still loving that model. I'm a fan of the key pad on the door but the previous owner did not know the factory code. TH-cam searches showed digging under the console to look at the back of the fuse box. I started to do this but quit when I realized I probably wouldn't be able to get the holddown nut back on in the tight space under there. Called the dealer this morning to get a quote on bringing it in for them to hook it up and find it. $175 and probably a full day without the vehicle. (And they probably would have done what you said here!) I probably wouldn't have even click on this video if not for the words "Tips and Tricks" in the title. YOU saved me A LOT of change and dealer headaches. THANKS!!

    Great video 🙏🏾👍🏽
I bought a used 2016 Edge Titanium in the tri coat white and love it but really wanted the color in this video. It’s beautiful 😍 and a big plus is the center console in the 2019!!!! Love that the 2019 cup holders are positioned near the passenger side and that there’s no longer the gearshift in the way. I can’t stand the way the cup holders in the 2016 are positioned and don’t even know who came up with that but it’s about time that someone came up with something more ergonomic in the 2019 models. Such a better feature and that alone would makes me want to upgrade.
Regarding my 2016 I still have the features as the windows which I love because you can allow the air to pass through but you can also stop them at whatever position you want to place them in. Maybe in the future they’ll make it work where it reverses so you can pull them up with the key fob as well. I also have the hands-free liftgate and of course the key fob features.
Unfortunately my titanium does not come with the park assist but I like it in this 2019 . Great sales tip for the customers!!!!
I’m so thankful for your videos because I bought my vehicle used and learned all about it by watching your videos. I was able to get the factory door code after watching your videos. And the best thing about your videos are that what you have shared not only applies for the Edge but various Ford models and watching videos on the F150 also helps we learn about my Edge. Yet, my issue about buying something used that I was not told about all of the great features as you have mentioned. I was able to get a 2016 manual order and I had skimmed through. But I liked your detailed videos best when I wiser up and TH-camd the car. I’m grateful for the dealership in El Cajon CA because they gave me a copy of the manual for free. However I’m most grateful that you put out your videos when you did and I was able to come across your channel.
I’m also grateful for this video because if my battery ever went out now I know how to use the actual key and then to place the fob in the holder to start the vehicle. In the 2016 Edge it’s the older key fob. I still have to figure out how to pull out the thing by pressing down on the button but I’ll get to that later.
Now, after watching this video I want to upgrade to the exact model you have showed!!!! I’ve seen other luxury vehicles out there but I have to admit for the price point of those compared to this I choose Ford! From the features to the body style and what’s on the inside I’m a fan of the Edge. I had a 2000 F150 for 18 years and loved my truck, but needed this upgrade as I wanted a smaller yet comparable vehicle that I felt safe in which I sit high and drives like my truck but smaller in stature.
With all said, very important and informative video. Appreciate your enthusiasm and professionalism. The tips you provide are always useful and you’re right it’s questions that we’ve all asked if interested in this vehicle. From the sunvisor to a dead battery, you hit the essential questions or tips that would encourage someone to purchase this vehicle or something similar from Ford with comparable features.
Best regards from San Diego, CA.
    God bless

Just switch off the engine by pushing the start/stop-button and the vehicle will automatically switch the transmission into "P" (only works with models equipped with the dial shifter).

You have helped me and many thousands of other Ford owners. I am in the San Antonio area but would like to buy my next Ford from you! yes dead battery start can definitely get you out of a pickle. And yeah we noticed that the recent Rangers has park assist available for the upper trim levels maybe ford is trying to bring it back for certain vehicles.

Nice sound and video production as well. Top notch.

Greetings from Melbourne, Australia Jorge. I just purchased a 2019 Ford Edge - it's actually called the Endura here in Australia as Nissan has the rights to the Edge name - I'll definitely be trying out these features, even the hands free parking - which I'm not sure that I trust completely. Excellent video. Cheers from down under.

We just traded and got a 2018 Edge Titanium - just like this 19 that you are demonstrating on. Love the tips! You actually saved me the time of looking behind the drivers foot area trim to find the code!! Going to make a little video about it myself I think!! Those Ford guys think of everything! I used to drive a Sportrac and then a Freestyle and in both I used the keyless entry code DAILY! Saves me from even thinking I might drop my keys in the woods or on a mountain etc. Thanks!! Great vid! Going to share with my wife also as the Edge will be her car mainly
