Always great to see animals in their natural habitat. Shooting deer on camera is just as impressive as shooting them with a rifle. Jack MacLeod was a well known hunter from Taumarunui but sadly passed away but he to decided after being a very successful hunter for years he decided to shoot deer with a camera and he also had some great photos of deer so good to see you like to mix it up as well. Amazing footage - scenery and sunset and sunrises
Cheers mate. Yes it’s not all about the shooting for me. I often go out in the roar just to roar them in and video it. You also learn a lot just watching them. I’ve found it a valuable tool to age animals when you have footage from several years especially when you can identify the same animals sometimes. Was thinking of doing a video on that. Thanks for your support 👍👍
Excellent! Have visited NZ from Oz many times (skiing and climbing) and truly believe you have one of the most wonderful countries in the world...indeed, I've been lobbying for years for Australia to become the East Island of NZ! And no snakes!!!
Stunning video as always. Loved the tune selection paired with the great clips 🌄 That sunset motorbike shot was super rad. Very inspiring. Can't wait to get out in the mountains now... once that NW flow has tapered off 😂
I am a interstate train driver in Australia and we get to see some amazing sunsets- sunrises and lightning storms and get paid for that pleasure. You were right about the sunset. Great footage
Cheers mate. Yeah have really been trying to improve the heard quality by selectively culling weak heads and only taking old stags at the end of their prime. Has taken 15 years but finally starting to really see the benefits. It’s taken some serious self control sometimes 😂 but you can’t always take, if we want good heads in the future, we have to let some walk. Been binge watching your channel. You guys have some cool adventures. 👍
@@controlledrecoil-nzhunting 15yrs, that's real dedication, enjoy reaping the rewards mate. Yeah I really love our adventures, just out there bonding and having wicked fun filling the freezer. I'm a super lucky dad.
Nice video Tom! You are very lucky to live in NZ! Keep up the great videos bud! Also love the XR lol, i just got a KTM 450 EXC. Need more videos of you riding it 😊
Yes it’s interesting that every person iv introduced to the sport, even if they weren’t that keen to give it a go to start with all love it. Now some of the keenest hunters I know. There’s a connection between us and hunting and most people don’t know they have it until they are out there. Cheers.👍
This makes me mis my days working for DOC I'm back in the UK now . We are right in the middle of the rut I was watching part of the oldest purest herd in in England last week up in the Ullswater hills it's similar looking country but unfortunately nowhere near as vast
@@controlledrecoil-nzhunting yeah very much classic typical high country the herd is starting to benefit from controlled culling and reducing sheep numbers on the fell ( that's what we call the high hill country in my part of England ) I saw a real good solid 12 pointer roaring on Friday best iv seen in years we do have some magnificent heads round my county but they are more in the low country but about 12 miles away in the high country there is a fell where they took all the sheep off about 6 years ago and there are some real monsters starting to show
Hi thanks mate. I just started playing around with small clips and different programs. There are plenty out there with different levels of complexity depending on the quality goal of the end product. Adobe premiere etc. If you’re just wanting to make simple edits to make your adventures easy to watch and you have an iPhone you can use IMovie. This of course will depend on the video length and iPhone etc. There are plenty of easy to use programs for the basic stuff. I am self taught so probably not the best qualified to give advice as I’m still learning this editing stuff too 😁 It really depends how far you want to go as there are many things to consider once high quality is needed. Camera quality and chip speed along with how it gets buffered by the edit program and what ratio it’s filmed in. The buffalo footage sounds cool👍👍
Mountains, snow, plenty of wild game and no snakes. Heaven on earth. Absolutely heaven.
Yes we are very lucky. Thanks for watching mate 👍😁
