Mary you could probably reach out to silhouette and see if they would sponsor you with a cameo 4. You’re such a good advocate of their company already.
I thought the sign would be the name of your company! I SERIOUSLY think the Cameo company needs to send you the new one for all of the free advertising you are giving them!!!
No apologies for the length of your videos is necessary. A Cameo has been on my wish list for a long while. I always get myself something special after the holidays, a reward for all the hard work during the holiday season in my Etsy shop, this year is the Cameo year. I am sure I will watch this video over and over again as I learn to use it. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Mary, I accidentally got on your TH-cam but am now hooked. I am a decorative artists and retirement has led me to pursue my dream of painting. I did buy a silhouette and omgosh, I can't wait till it all makes sense. All I do so far is make mistakes, but thank you for the video of you going thru the basics. Your sweet and slow enough and I still have to watch it 10 times to get my skills. But wouldn't watch anyone else.! Keep up the videos. Thank you MARY
I have spent the last 2 and 1/2 days setting up my new Cameo 3 and trying to figure out how to ungroup a design I downloaded from Etsy...I sat down to have lunch at my computer and as usual watch youtube videos and there you are...Thank Goodness...I have saved the video because you shared a lot of information. I had not planned to do signs or tshirts, etc. but you made it look so easy I may try...I just want to make a simple Monogram...and I woke up this morning ready to give my machine away...Thank you!!!!! I will try again...After all I am in quarantine...I am one of the 75 year old high risk...so please do more of these...Love all your trash to treasure videos...I have 2 stools that you have me a great idea for...on my way to your Etsy store for the decals...
I love my silhouette Cameo! I had one for more than 8 yrs. It was still working like new. It was lost in my last move, 3 years ago. I wasn't too disappointed because I was wanting the newer model and this gave me the excuse to buy one.
I've watched so many videos trying to find the best way to make a wooden sign using my cameo 3. Your's was the first I found and I should've known not to look any further! I've came back to this one 3 or 4 times now because you explained everything in simple, easy to understand terms and shared a few tricks. You're my go to for DIY and cameo projects. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your content, it's much appreciated! PS- if you ever get inspired to make a pennant banner/ garland (burlap, cloth, etc) I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks again Mrs. Mary!
Mary, I just came across this video and as a new Cameo user, I didn’t mind the length at all. I really needed the explanations and demonstrations. So much easier to watch than read about it. I feel more in control now. Thank you.
Perfect scripture for your new office/workshop. Your hands sure find a lot of things to do & you certainly do it with all your might.you put a lot of love into your items. Love watching your videos.
As I said, I have had a silhouette since 2010 and you taught me two new tricks today! How to rotate 90 degree and how to keep it running straight toward the end. You are amazing and I so enjoy watching you and your crafts!
Wow. This lesson was full of useful tips and information. I’m certain that it will save so many of us many hours of grief. Thanks Many, and have a great day!
Hi Mary!!! I'm a huge fan of your channel. Thank you for all the inspiration and creativity you provide to all of us. I've prayed for you and your family. I'm sorry about the vintage fair. I'm glad you are moving forward. God Bless you and your family. Keep Creating....Katrina W. From Texas
I too got my cameo about 3 years ago. I have watched many tutorials on Silhouette Cameo/large designs, yours is by far the best!! Simple, quick and step by step. Keep em coming Mary!!!!!!
The saying is considered ‘text’, after you ungroup it becomes an object and you can’t change the saying because it isn’t text anymore. I always make a copy of the text before I start changing things in case I mess up or it helps me remember the name of the font I used. Hope this helps. I love my cameo (I have the first one).
Thank you Mary so much.I am an older lady on pensions I would love to make and sell items.. Then i might realise my dreams of having my own home! From one Mary to another.xx
I was about ready to sell my Silhouette Cameo, because I was struggling with big pieces. I am giving your suggestions a try. Thank you for patiently walking us through the instructions, but also for the tips. You blessed my day!
Thanks for the tips, adding the extra bit to the bottom of your page to stop it from pulling out the rollers is priceless, that has happened to me twice already and ruined cuts 🙌🏼
Just another note, Mary. I truly think the Silhouette Cameo is the simplest and easy to use machine and software. I belong to a cutting machine group and those with other brands seem to struggle more. The machines and especially software appear to be more complicated! I am so happy I chose Silhouette!
Excellent tutorial. Thank you. I don't craft in such a manner. I pencil sketch and work with stained glass, making panels and then some free standing angels. I do refinish or paint furniture etc, but no sign making. I had to limit the things I do for economic reasons. The least expensive is the sketching. The most expensive is working with glass. Thoroughly enjoy and appreciate your tutorials. Thank you.
I just found this video and you have taught me more and more. I’m always lost with my silhouette, but you were so helpful and explained everything so well thank you thank you thank you
Awesome tutorial. I have had my Cameo 3 for 2 years now and I am still learning new things. Thank you for adding the tips and tricks you have learnt along the way, I haven’t cut without a mat yet but after watching your tutorial I think I will give it a go. Your sign is lovely.
Thank you so much your video is amazing. As a small business owner, I learned a lot about Cameo. I just recently purchased my first Cameo 4 and I am so excited! Your video really help me thank you.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this! I’ve had my Cameo 3 since December 2018....I just took it out of the box! I know, GASP! This tutorial really spells it out and I’m so excited to finally sit down and create.
Just purchased Brother Scan and Cut DX. Wish I had seen this video first. You are a great teacher. I would have purchased the cameo and followed your tutorials. God bless you and your family.
I got two things from you today, one is to start a fund for my silhouette, and the second is just how good you are working with that machine!! the tutorial was worth watching, very informative. Thanks
Thank you so much for this! My husband gifted me a new silhouette for my birthday this year, and I've been struggling to find a good video explaining how to make these larger pieces. Your video has helped me so much! ❤
Thanks Mary! Just a little thing that might help is your knife on the left. You can cut your design anywhere without having to group and ungroup. I hope that helps you! And saves some time! I love Sil3 as much as you do!
This is the first of your videos I’ve watched trying to learn this machine. And I must say I’m in love with the way you teach! Your speech is slowed down so I can fully understand what’s being said! You just gained a new subscriber! Thank you!
Great tutorial Mary and beautiful scripture for your new Etsy office. You are so thorough and patient when explaining your techniques and tips. Love the sign and can’t wait to seeing it hanging up on the wall.
Well - my goodness but that was thoroughly enjoyable. What did I get out of it: a better awareness of how hard you work to get such results. I like your enthusiasm and appreciation you have for your tools because you really know how to get them to work for you and as my Dad used to say: if you take care of your tools, they'll take care of you. Thanks, Mary.
Mary, thank you so very much for this video. I see that it was made last year and I smile with a grateful heart to the One who gave you such a talent. Your sweet and genuine spirit shines through your work and your heart draws people to you. I'm new with the Cameo 3 and purchased it just a week or so before the 4 was announced. You have convinced me that I made the right decision. I am still learning, just in the last two weeks finally turning it on, and with each wall I hit I find that you have already solved that and I do enjoy as well as learn so much from your videos. I feel that help is on the way!!! Thank you again and God bless you and keep you safe always.
Please don’t ever apologize for the length of your videos, love every minute you are willing to share with us. I agree with others that you are a wonderful teacher and example. Also cameo should just send you a new machine for the unsolicited advertising you have done for them.
There is a large format cameo coming out!!! Think of the large signs you could make! I’m thinking about the Appliqué shapes I can cut out! I have the cameo 1!
Just want to say, "thank You." Your videos are my favorite. I like the way you explain things, straight to the point, easy to follow. The sign is beautiful. Love everything you make.
Hi Mary, I just received my new Cameo 4 which I bought as a result of watching all the creative work you do. This tutorial has been very useful and much more interesting than reading the manual. Keep being creative.
Thank you! I have been curious how to do larger signs. I have a Cameo but still learning the functions! I always look forward to all of your tutorials❤️
Hi from the UK Mary, love all your videos. They are so inspiring. Would you consider doing a video on any tips for cleaning your brushes and sprayer after painting? Not an exciting subject I'll admit, but it sometimes puts me off painting, the thought of having to clean up for hours afterwards. Thanks Mary.
What a beautiful sign! And the verse is perfect for your work space 👍 You did a wonderful job showing/explaining the process on your Cameo. Keep up the great work!
LOVE, LOVE & L❤️VE!! Thank you! I recently found one on eBay after watching your last how-to video and curiously checking in to prices. What is funny is that I googled Silhouette Cameo 3 and it took me to eBay and I placed a bid for $145 and I did not even know they were finishing the auction in less than a minute or two and I won the bid. It seems like it was barely used...I did have to order the USB and cutting tools separately though and it is still coming in less than $200. If I would’ve seen this video, I would’ve definitely ordered it so you could receive a little commission. Any way, after seeing this, I feel I can confidently get started with using the machine! Thank you!! I really enjoy your channel. You are my all time fave! I also enjoy Jami Ray and Elesia English, but you’re #1!! SERIOUSLY, the Cameo folks should gift you a new Cameo 4, plus give you a Cameo 3 to use in a Give Away!!! I was really leaning towards a Cricut until I saw all of your videos raving about the Cameo 3. 😊
Mary, I have a Brother Scan N Cut but I still learn some good ideas from you. The basics for vinyl cutting seem to be about the same. Thank you. Love watching your videos.
Excellent as always! You have a wonderful voice! And you are a great teacher! Love watching you! I have bought several things from your Etsy shop! Love it all!!!!
Mary that was a really informative and easy to understand tutorial. Thankyou for taking the time to share , I know you are very busy . The tutorial wasn’t too long everything in it was useful . I am trying to talk my husband into buying a cameo. I think I will show him your video, that should convince him. Thanks again for all the inspiration. I look forward to your videos every week. Stay well and happy. Terri
I just got my cameo 3 and so far I love it. It helps so much to watch your videos because, you are patient and through. Thank you for everything you do!
Mary. You are wonderful. You are inspirational and calming at the same time. I'm a stay at home mom of four from Texas. I love your channel. First person I have ever subscribed to. Thank you for sharing your love of decor, furniture makeovers and DIYs. These are all my personal interests as well. God bless.❤️
Beautiful work. You wondered what could make a cameo 4 worth it but then showed us a couple improvements that could be made to the cameo 3: 1. not being able to change fonts after you ungroup 2. the long sheets move off center sometimes. 3. they should add the 2" because of the cutting line automatically. 4. simplify rotating. If the cameo 4 can correct that, it might be worth it to you and others. Sometimes new editions just fine tune old ones, not necessarily add new features. Love seeing you use up the extra space to avoid waste. Sometime you can explain how you store your work on the cameo.
Great video, as always. I’m actually getting set to do a large format sign for my church, so this was timely. Just for future reference, when you have your original text on the screen, if you highlight the text you want to change before setting your font, it will only affect the selected text and not the entire text box. You can then highlight the rest of it and choose a different font without having to ungroup or retype. Also, as another commenter noted, the cut tool is great for splitting your design into smaller cut pieces. 😊
Thank you for posting your video. Making a welcome sign for a wedding and you’re the only cameo video I found that explains how to do this so easily! There are far more cricut videos out there, so love to see more of your videos!
You did a great job explaining. I have an Air 2 but I see now how to do a big Amazing Grace I am planning. You gave me courage to try. Design Space is different but this helped me to have a direction to go. Thanks!
I am so excited! I found the Cameo 3 at our local surplus store for $65.00!!!! You inspire me to make all kinds of things. Give us more tips, because it looks a bit overwhelming!!
Oracle 631 is a removable vinyl. For anything for use outdoors Oracal 651 is basically weather resistant. I use a cricut maker. I love the amount of different materials it will cut. I Love what you do.
All my neighbors have Cricket Maker...they say it is easier on SVG than Silhouette Cameo 3 and you have to upgrade as the basic does not accept svg's...so look at them both again...and I have the Cameo 3 which I had to upgrade yesterday...from the basic...
Wow! I love your sign! The dark wood is so warm - I'm so happy you didn't paint over it like so many are doing and ruining the integrity of the wood. To me, that is what makes it special. I never mind a longer video if it makes sense and yours always does. Thank you for taking the time to show us how to do the big lettering! Lots of love - TT
Thank you for showing how to adjust that roller, I was losing my mind trying to figure it out lol, and thanks for that tip too! never would have thought of that!
I have always wanted a cameo or cricket, but very timid of them both, you are such a good teacher, I may have to add this to my list of savings also. Thank you for the video. Your the best!!
Mary... I learnt so much from this video. I have been wanting to make a large image but had no idea how. Your instructions were so easy to follow. I will be trying this for sure! Thanks once again for being such an inspiration! Please do more silhouette videos. I bought my silhouette because of you and would love to learn more. Can’t wait to see your new room! I’m sure it will be beautiful! ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing. I have an older silhouette cameo and got lost, when they did the program update, years ago. Was helpful watching and listening to your soothing voice. All the Best. :)
Wow, amazing video! I have been putting off the large sign. Now I cannot wait to dig in. I could watch you for hours. I bought one just because of your inspiring Cameo videos.
Thank you, Mary! I have a Silhouette Cameo that I haven't even tried to use because I felt intimidated. You did a very nice job explaining the process so I think I might have more confidence to at least try to use it. You are my favorite vlogger by far! I really enjoy your channel, thank you.
Hi Mary i watch all your videos and have had other's look at them also all so very happy with my candles my daughter got me for my birthday and also my friend peggy has been trying to fine out about some other candles for me thank you again for your hard work
FASCINATING! I had no idea how The Cameo worked. Your sign turned out beautifully. Thank you so much for this tutorial! I learned a lot. In fact, I think I might be able to do this! YAY! Thanks again Mary. 💕
I love watching you create. You just charge ahead no matter how large the task. You have so many design ideas that turn out amazing. I am considering purchasing a cameo and found this video so helpful in choosing whether to purchase and what to purchase. Thank you so much for all you do. I would love to see more sign/cameo videos to be able to learn more from your experience . I’m grateful that you are willing to put yourself out here for us!
this video was awesome!!! I wish I came across this a lot sooner! Thank you for going step by step on your instructions You made it so easy. I find a lot of people leave out the "small" or "simple" steps and when you are new to this every step counts!
Great tutorial and tips! Thank you! If you double click on your word or phrase box, the green box will come back, and you can highlight and change your font without retyping. Hope that helps! Be blessed!
You are a wonderful teacher! The instructions you give are clear, concise and easy to follow. I learned so much from this video. Thank you for taking the time to share your tips and tricks - it really helps us 'newbies'. Cheers
Hi Mary - Thank you for this video. I have had a Cameo (and vinyl) for a few years now and have done very little with it at the scale you have. Your video is very informative and has given me the boost to give the larger projects a try.
Mary you could probably reach out to silhouette and see if they would sponsor you with a cameo 4. You’re such a good advocate of their company already.
For sure!!
No doubt about it !!
Yes! Was thinking the same thing
I agree.......
That's why I bought one.
I thought the sign would be the name of your company! I SERIOUSLY think the Cameo company needs to send you the new one for all of the free advertising you are giving them!!!
No apologies for the length of your videos is necessary. A Cameo has been on my wish list for a long while. You should have your own show! Love your channel!
Yes, that is so true! I so would watch that show. I'm a handle man but this woman helps me with awesome ideas.

The roll feeder saved my life with long designs. Listening to you is so relaxing 😊
It saved me a lot of vinyl too!
Mary I DO LOVE YOUR videos, you are such an inspiration, hard working, proverbs 31 woman. Love and blessing from South Carolina.
Excellent tutorial. Thank you. I don't craft in such a manner. I pencil sketch and work with stained glass, making panels and then some free standing angels.

Excellent as always! You have a wonderful voice! And you are a great teacher! Love watching you! I have bought several things from your Etsy shop! Love it all!!!!
You amaze me! I needed this video. I use my Cameo but I am not very confident. Any tutorials you offer on it will be so helpful. Thank you again Mary🍂

Also, as another commenter noted, the cut tool is great for splitting your design into smaller cut pieces. 😊
You are such a great teacher--thank you!
Thank you for posting your video. Making a welcome sign for a wedding and you’re the only cameo video I found that explains how to do this so easily! There are far more cricut videos out there, so love to see more of your videos!
Hi Mary! What a beautiful verse and sign. Can't wait to see your finished workshop!
Mary, I just got a Cameo 4 and your tutorials help me sooooo much! Thank you and God bless you and your family!
So inspirational. Especially that You handle all the tools yourself! 👍
You did a great job explaining. I have an Air 2 but I see now how to do a big Amazing Grace I am planning. You gave me courage to try. Design Space is different but this helped me to have a direction to go. Thanks!
You are the one person I can watch and learn so much!
I am so excited! I found the Cameo 3 at our local surplus store for $65.00!!!! You inspire me to make all kinds of things. Give us more tips, because it looks a bit overwhelming!!
Hi Mary so very beautiful inspirational piece for your new space! Just beautiful!
Thank you for your video. First time extending the mat on silhouette studio and making big words
Oracle 631 is a removable vinyl. For anything for use outdoors Oracal 651 is basically weather resistant. I use a cricut maker. I love the amount of different materials it will cut.
I Love what you do.
Loved this video!!! I’m trying to decide whether to buy a Criket or Cameo. This made my mind up for me!!!!
So pretty love your beautiful creations
Thank you for showing how to adjust that roller, I was losing my mind trying to figure it out lol, and thanks for that tip too! never would have thought of that!
Thanks for your time. I love the scripture
You are so wonderful at explaining things..such a joy to watch your videos..thank you so much
Thank you once again! I think it needed to be long to explain it well. Definitely will save this one.
I am still using the original cameo and it works just great for what I need
The best explanation I’ve seen yet. Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing. I have an older silhouette cameo and got lost, when they did the program update, years ago. Was helpful watching and listening to your soothing voice. All the Best. :)
Thank you! Your videos have helped me more than any other tutorials on Silhouette!
Wow, amazing video! I have been putting off the large sign. Now I cannot wait to dig in.
I could watch you for hours. I bought one just because of your inspiring Cameo videos.
Great instruction on the cameo for larger signs. Thank you Mary. Have a Blessed week.
Thank you so much! I was struggling to do a 12x36 sign and you made it easy!
Thank you, Mary! I have a Silhouette Cameo that I haven't even tried to use because I felt intimidated. You did a very nice job explaining the process so I think I might have more confidence to at least try to use it. You are my favorite vlogger by far! I really enjoy your channel, thank you.

Don’t worry about length. This video was really interesting and full of great information- as are all your videos. I’m saving for my Cameo now too!
Cheers
Great video! Thank you for taking the fear out of using this machine.
of my goodness!! because of you I was able to make my first large wall decal! You are the best teacher!! I have a cameo 3 also. Love your videos.
Hi Mary - Thank you for this video. I have had a Cameo (and vinyl) for a few years now and have done very little with it at the scale you have. Your video is very informative and has given me the boost to give the larger projects a try.
