2024 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro - This Should Be A CRIME

- This dealer in Chesapeake Virginia is charging one of the most horrendous markups that I’ve seen in a long time. In the United States, there’s essentially no consumer protection and automotive dealers are some of the worst culprit of taking advantage of those who may be ill informed. Please do not ever pay these additional markups and shop around, there’s organizations out there like CarEdge who can help you get excellent deals on vehicles. I’m not sponsored by them but I know those people very well and I trust them. The Toyota forerunner TD Pro is an awesome vehicle but it’s not worth the price tag that these crazy people are asking.

$58k is ridiculous let alone $73k.
Yep, wait for the new one, it’ll cross $90k I’m sure
@@revnation_auto for $90k I'm getting myself a Land Rover Defender 110 and swapping the tires out and I'm golden. Better vehicle than that Toyota, for the price, on and off road any day of the year.

My '98 4runner has been paid off for 20 years. I'm going to put 5k into this year and drive it for another 20 years.
Really? I knew they were reliable but Shazam man😂
Just replaced the transmission in my 98, engine has 353,000, burns no oil, leaks nothing. Runs like a champ.
Also have a 24 4runner trd premium, but it was 50k out the door back in November. Under sticker.

Fuck em, the days of the dealerships are coming to an end. I tried to buy a used car once from a dealer, they told me I HAD TO finance. No thank you.
All those markups do is just make damn sure I’ll never buy from that dealer ever regardless of what car they have
Thank you for the voice of reason. You understand "asking price" compared to what you personally consider a fair price. Most of these commenters don't seem to get this concept. Again, thanks.
Good, they don't want to sell anything to moochers like you
Paint looks like SpaghettiO sauce
...or something unappealing like that.
Yup, I was thinking tomato soup
That color should be a $5k discount!
Ragu red lol
thanks, you now totally ruined it for me...
but you're 100% right...
Some idiot will buy it as long as he can get financing and is able to make the monthly payments payments. People are stupid these days 🤷🏻♂️

And that’s what the manufacturer’s & dealerships know that’s how the game has been played. For quite some time! A fool that wants to 1up others. Then in 2 years, the next latest greatest version will be out. And the suckers will do it again, as long as they get the loan.
Mainly it's Gen Z and some Millennials who are paying these obscene prices because it's all they have known since they turned 16!
I remember a nearly fully loaded 4Runner TRD Pro tops out around $46K not too long ago.
I paid 39.5k for a new 2019 TRD Off Road. I laughed at the 50k they wanted for the TRD PRO. It's the same motor and I wanted the manual 4X4. I didn't want the color that bad.
That was before we printed a trillion dollars for the flu.
I paid just a touch over 46 for our 2023 TRDORP last year. Pros were 54K
Even without a markup, the pricing is ridiculous. Highway robbery in my opinion. Sad thing is some sucker will pay it!
That is what I was thinking as I watched this video! Someone will buy it and think it is a bargain.
Anything to look cool in the Target parking lot!
Every vehicle I've ever bought in the past I negotiated some kind of deal sometimes saving me thousands. Now somehow everything is flipped with the supply chain issues and now people are begging for popular vehicles so the dealers can mark them up successfully. I guess my days of buying new cars is over! I will never pay mark up.
Got that right. Was talking to someone at my work at how out of control auto pricing and pricing in general has gotten. COVID-19 became the excuse to inflate prices along with old fashion greed packaged as "the market." When a non-premium car costs as much as an entry level premium and in this case nearly a third of a decent mortgage you know the market is bound to collapse. I purchased a T4R TRD Offroad for 55K in August ('23) and paid off with a giant trade, 12JAN2024. GOD knows I've over spent plenty on ten Jeep [Wrangler] builds over the last 10-12 years. We as a society are way too hook on debt and these are priced too much. Even the used ones are out of control. Thank the Lord, I got that "crack monkey" off my back.
We just need to stop buying and their market will have to adjust. Buy used. 4-5 years old so it has fully depreciated and cash if you can. Hold out until things get more affordable.
They jacked up prices prior to the 2025 release so that the outrageous price on the 2025 feels more acceptable.
Yeah they gonna want 75k for a 4 cylinder
@@tedbell4416 fuq that .....
Overpricing is what killed the land cruiser, now dealer greed is doing the same to the 4runner.
All dealers. I bought a new gmc sierra 4x4 double cab base model in 2015 for 32k. The same truck today is 58-60k.
Land cruiser was snuck in as a standard SUV when it was a luxury model due to tariffs in the 90s, because selling it as a Lexus or premium would have cost Toyota money
And the Tacoma! Way over priced
73k is disgusting!!! I just bought a '24 TRD Off Road Premium for $53,200 OTD. It was technically "used"...had 62 miles... it was transferred from another dealer that briefly used it (62 miles). so, it was $48.5k but after taxes, fees, etc. 53.2K OTD. Super happy and feel really lucky I found it. Had it only one week and I am diggin it.
The marks on the lug nuts are safety checks that are applied at the manufacturing plant to verify the nut have been torqued to the correct spec.
Good to know thanks
they are put on at the facility that accessorizes the vehicle... not the manufacturer.
@@--RSL-- They are done at both locations.
The factory does not mark the lugs for torque verification. I installed the Sequoia TRD Pro suspension and sway bars post production before it left TMMI. Whenever we re-installed the wheels, one person would torque and yellow mark the lugs. Then, another would have to verify and mark blue. Also keeping a paper trail. Any Delta torque (safety related) needs to be verified. At least where I work
I actually walked out of the dealership when they wanted $55k for my TRDOR Premium in '18. The salesman chased me down in the parking lot. I got them down to $45k and was told to never come back. I felt like I got screwed but now...Nothing like a good barter. 😆
You did get screwed. That thing probably cost $15k to make.
@chr103yod lol, gawtdaymit you're right.
@archstanton664 Sorry man.
Am over this ridiculous price crap! That thing can sit there until hell freezes over! 15 year old truck for $58k, plus the dealer bullshit! Please put the name of the dealer on here! We will gladly spread the word to put them out of business. Ours here in TN are discounted off the MSRP!
82k here in Alberta, Canada without add ons...
That four runner is not a 15 year old truck! The design is 15 yrs old,but the vehicle is brand new.
. That's what he is saying! A 15 year old desin that is not worthy of that price!
@@12masterr Subjective, the markup is asinine. But the 4Runner is priced accordingly. What options are cheaper, Rubicon $60k, Defender $70-90k, Bronco $60k...Pathfinder, Blazer, Telluride, Passport, Durango........you buy any of those over a 4Runner then you don't want an off road truck. Get a minivan.
There are no cheap vehicles on the market today, everything costs a lot, that's why the car industry is a parking lot now.
The fact it's a tried, true and quality built platform is why the resale is high, why it's bullet proof, why it can go anywhere and not break, why there's no fluff bs gizmos that break that no one even uses. The 200 series Land Cruiser, FJ and Lexus GX are the exact same. They don't break, they go anywhere....but if you want a serious 4wd offroading truck based platform, there aren't many options other than the Defender, Wrangler and Bronco all similar or higher priced.
I wouldn’t buy that vehicle for the asking base price. Wait for the dealerships to start going under in a few more months. Most of them can’t even dump their remaining 2023 inventory at auction because they won’t drop their crazy reserves.
No toyota dealers ever go out of business. Ever.

😆 right…
Then dont buy it lmao
Went to this dealership last year looking to purchase a TRD Off Road Premium. Nearly $7000 over MSRP w/market adjustment. Same weak sales tactic “someone will buy it if you don’t” as they had 3 sitting on the lot. I seem to recall them dropping down to $3000 over MSRP. I walked. Same evening I talked to “Amanda” at Hall Toyota in Virginia Beach. She told me she’d be happy to sell me one at MSRP. Drove there the next day and purchased the Lunar Rock variant with absolutely no BS about it! Hall Toyota service center is pretty awesome too!
Insane, what in the world is a $15,000 market value increase about? Never in my lifetime will you see me at the dealership buying a car.......
All the unessesary electronic junk plus the government mandated crap that no one wants or needs. I'll take seat belts and a backup camera. Thats it.

Me too, I bought the premium off road in January this year, I got it $2,000 under SRP. Love it, has everything I need, I drive road rules, I average 20.7 to the gallon. No complaints.
There's a private seller here in Colorado trying to sell a 2023 4 Runner TRD OFF RD Premium for $62k and it has 13k miles. No upgrades or after market additions while the dealer has them brand new with $5k discounts off MSRP

I doubt that you did because that would be below invoice, unless you managed to get any add-ons or packages for free. Toyota has the lowest days of inventory than ANY manufacturer. They are not going to give 4Runners away like that.
The fact that it hadn't changed in so long is absolutely a quality for many of us 4Runner owners. The TRD Pro trim level is basically a rip-off though. But your main point stands strong, these markups are so crazy, they're not even infuriating, they're just hilarious.
I hope people in that area remember to avoid this particular dealership when it's time for them to buy a new car.
Currently driving a 2005 4-runner, bought new. Stated then, I will drive it a minimum of 20 years, since it was so expensive ($26,000). Almost there (next February)!
The proper way to buy and own a new car. The only way to ever get your money's worth from a new car purchase.
Um 2005 was 3 years ago, you can't tell me different
I'll never sell my 2004 Toyota Tundra Limited. Currently with 140K miles and running like new. At the rate I use it It will be 2035 before I have 200K on it!
"There's two types of people that buy brand new cars son, the rich and the stupid."
-my dad, a long time ago
$58 grand for a 4runner? Um, no. Maybe 50 OTD... MAYBE. Insane, but remember for every one of us saying this, there's tons of folks that will pay it. There's only inflation because PEOPLE PAY THESE PRICES. Supply and demand is older than time itself. Obviously, they can charge these prices and get it.
There is always a sucker out there and one is born every minute!
It’s $80k 😂
It’s ridiculous
Best I’d do is $45k OTD😅
Lots of rich people in my area
That's almost double what I paid for my 2019...I have come to the realization that I will never buy a new car again..probably nothing less than 7-10 years old..that is the only way a regular person can afford any SUV OR PICKUP...these prices are insane!!!
Yeah my ‘17 Ram is the last new truck I’ll ever buy. The prices are not coming down in any significant way. They sit there and bitch about inventories that are piling up, but expect middle class people to pay luxury car prices for utilitarian vehicles. They are completely missing the mark on who trucks and off road capable vehicles appeal to.
This is the most logical deduction. Damn. A regular person can afford only a used car.
Buy new and get screwed twice. Once by price, second by maintinance. They build everything like shit. Garbage transmissions and engines. Bad quality on interiors aswell. Thats pretty much blanket for all brands
At the toyota dealership i work at we do not do this. Our trd pro 4runner right now is listed at its original 57k msrp.
Still too high
Do they play dueling banjos for you after you buy the truck?
The sad thing is people must be paying these prices or they wouldn't be asking them.
There's a ton of idiots that will pay that just to say they have a 4Runner. The dealers that are doing that won't be getting my business.
Just to have the step child of the Land Cruiser family?! Lame
I worked there years ago when they had the commercials with the crazy lady chasing around the dealership owner saying "I just want to thank you!" Not much to thank them for now unless you like insane markups
That is outrageous! Who would go buy brand new at the stealership?
You're going to see the private seller market explode because of this and more people will just keep what they have and keep up with maintenance.
Dude the secondary market is downtream of the dealer market. If some suckers dont go and overpay then there is no secondary market
As we should really. Us americans have been spoiled to think that we always need shiny and new.
I'm thinking they do this to ensure the car won't sell so they keep it around awhile. It could be an interesting tactic to say "Yeah, we have a TRD Pro in stock, come in!" And then they can bait and switch them to a ORP or a Limited with now a HUGE price difference and apparent savings. The sucker won't buy the Pro, but will be sold something similar at MSRP, whereas they could probably geet $2-3k off.
Good take. They'll play psychological warfare with you if you aren't self aware
I was at that same dealership priority Toyota. I went to first team Toyota and bought the same truck for under MSRP love my new 24 4runner
I just restored my 1970 chevy c10 as a daily driver with everything new but paint and body for $8000. No computer crap, no chips, no stupid high prices…. Just good old school fun without the over hyped modern crap… cheap insurance, cheap plates. Completely reliable fun…
Priority Toyota is AWFUL!!!!!! I drove 4 hours to go there and look at a specific black venture model 4 runner I had been wanting a couple years ago and walked away empty handed! They were so rude and priced outrageous. Also, offered next to nothing well below kbb on trade in. BUYERS BEWARE! Do not deal with them.
Yeah they are terrible
I bought a 2001 4 runner that year and I’m still driving it.
Why would I buy a new one when it gets the same gas mileage.

$73K? I wouldn't pay $37K for it. They say a fool is born every minute, but more and more folks are realizing just how badly corporations have been gouging us during this "inflationary" period.
The Toyota dealership close to my house has only been charging msrp this whole time. Everyone else has had ridiculous markups. Come time to buy my next 4Runner I’m only buying from them. Meanwhile the dealerships near me that did those same market adjustment fees will never see my business.
You have to blame corporate Toyota for allowing the dealers to do this if they would put their foot down to the dealers, this will not be occurring so it comes all the way from the top. You're right let it rot!
You cannot blame Toyota "corporate" for the actions of the dealers. By law a manufacturer may NOT discuss pricing.. it is illegal.
It’s not about the dealers and owners of dealers. It about the customers. If the customers refused to buy unless they can buy direct at a fair market MSRP things would change. Toyota should ask the customer what they want not the criminal dealers.
Customers are who buys their cars not dealers.
in some states there are laws requiring car manufacturers to sell only through dealerships. Wanna guess who paid off the legislators to put that into law?
Hold fast on not paying these garbage prices. If you must buy find a dealership that is reputable without the additional markups. This way we keep the decent dealerships while driving the scummy ones out of business.
The 2024 Toyota Land cruiser supposed to start at around $56000, cheapest one I can find is $71,000.
Yes, I’m seeing markups on the first editions of $20K. Pass.

@@Kacaroto13 you must work at a dealer if you think talking down to someone regarding these insane price hikes
I was at a dealer recently and the folks "in front "of me were purchasing the vehicle I wanted and had cash for. That's okay, but they were crying because they couldn't afford it. They were struggling to get their bank to give them the loan. They finally purchased it with massive payments for the rest of their lives.
And that's how people afford these vehicles.
What dealer is that? I just bought a 2024 TDR Pro Off-road premium and I got $2500 off MSRP. I thought the dealer markups were over?
The $58k isn’t ridiculous when you look at everything that comes with the TRD PRO package like the Bilstine tuned suspension the exhaust, sound system, the electricity controlled 4 wheel drive system, and a dozen other things that come with that package. Plus, it runs on regular unleaded which will save you thousands over the life of the vehicle. The normally aspirated 4.0L v6 will easily do 300,000 without major service, as will the transmission. I have a 2023 TRD PRO in Solar Octane. Talk about service, the sales manager at my local dealership knew I wanted that color, so he tapped on his computer for a minute… “ok, there’s one more coming into the east coast. It’s on the ship and will arrive in Baltimore harbor later this month. It’s scheduled to go to Alexandria Toyota. Give them a call and if nobody’s put a deposit on it, you can probably get it.” So, I called, put down $2500 and picked up the 4Runner 3 weeks later. They didn’t charge me a dime over sticker and since that color was in such high demand I was more than happy. They could have gouged me but they were straight! No games, there are good people at Alexandria Toyota!
Thank you, that’s good to hear b/c
i plan on purchasing a 2023 4x4 Armada in the Alexandria area soon!
The biggest dealership group in Pittsburgh sells 4Runners near invoice and the TRD Pro for MSRP. I got mine from them for 1000 off MSRP. The one dealer ten miles away is selling theirs for $3000 over MSRP. Good deals are out there and bad ones as well.
Nice! I’m working a deal on one right now
Right before covid hit, I bought an f 150 that was a demo with 1600 miles. 56k sticker, I paid 46k out the door with an extended warranty. This is straight up highway robbery.
Toyota needs to get involved in this criminal markup.
Legally, they may NOT get involved. The Dist Mgr might have a parking lot, come to Jesus, conversation about pricing, but, still.. illegal.
Name the dealer! McGrath Mazda in Chicago pulled this on me. Advertised one price online, but when I got to the dealership, there was a "protection package" that was never advertised and couldn't be excluded from the price of the vehicle. Ultimate scumbaggery.
A poster from 1996:
They say in thirty years a burger and fries will cost $16.
A vacation $12,500.
And a basic car $65,000.
No problem, you'll eat in. You won't drive. And you won't go anywhere.
Why are they marking it up $15k when they sit on lots at MRSP? There are plenty available at any dealership.
Funny, They call the cops when they're the crooks.
No FREAKING WAY I'd pay that kind of mark up.
Penske Toyota in Downey CA their markup fee is 20K on these 2024 TRD Pros and they are very cocky about it too. And guess what now they are adding similar markups to their new 4 cylinder/turbo charge Landcruisers and they will do the same with the new Gen 6 4Runners. Its insane!!
Aside from installing "Predator Steps" that will not survive being on a vehicle that actually goes off road, installing that crappy little FJ Cruiser basket on the roof makes absolutely no sense. It almost makes sense on the FJ but definitely not on the 4Runner.
There are dealerships right down the street here in Colorado that are charging 10k markups on these. They are 66k trucks after these folks mark them up into the sun. Crazy
That is odd. On their website it's listed at $58k which is closer to MSRP. But they are crazy if they are indeed charging that markup. Most 4Runners are going for $2k-$3k off for the lower trims. Pro still getting MSRP.
It's bait and switch. Once you go to the dealership, they will spring these BS markups on you.
@@ArnoldsDesign Yeah I meailed a few for prices but they won't send a price. They want you to call them or go there. When I bought my Outback new in 2019 I sent out 10 emails and got prices back on all of them. After much research I shopped the lowest one and see if a dealer would match.
It's because it's the Pro model probably. They're always hard to find. The off road premium is the better deal, 90% of owners don't go off road. Why does a non off road driver need Fox shocks. I bought the off road premium in January this year, I put KO2s on Toyota's bronze wheels, it looks great. I'm happy, average 20.7 to the gallon, it has all the bells & whistles I need.
So, in addition to being thieves, they are liars.
@@ArnoldsDesign They sprung this on me when I was about to pay for a new Tacoma. The dealer wanted a 3k market adjustment fee. Then a fee for paying cash it was between 5k and 10k. A GM dealer had no market adjustment fee but had a 5k fee for paying cash. This was about 2 years ago.
To pay full sticker price, another $15K, plus other fees, and finance interest for a vehicle that will become instantly dated when the new Gen comes out soon is insane.
I have the same one and I paid MSRP and i still felt like I overpaid.
I actually have a deal on one for a friend, $1,500 under msrp and it’s still $60k out the door. In 2019, you could get them for $40k, awesome times we’re in🙄
Unfortunately you did overpay, but not much you can do about it when dealing with ridiculously priced vehicles.
Yes. Can’t even get 33s on the pro without changing the suspension. They have better resale value than my modified ORP so that is a consideration
I always wonder how dealerships like this don't get run out of town or vandalized to oblivion. $15,000 is absolutely insane and these crooks should be ashamed of themselves.
I paid $15500 for the 2 used vehicles that I own and I've put 454k miles on them myself. They want $15k as a market adjustment before you even pay for the truck. LOL

@williamdalton860 How do you like the third-row seat? I am looking for the SR5 Premium 4x4, and there are many available with a third-row seat at a good price because the dealer has so many of them. I don't need the third-row seat, but will folding it down be similar to having the version without third-row seating? I am thinking of folding it down and using a cargo cover. Thanks
@@oaouda love it the only issue is the third roll is for a person that is 4.9 or shorter. I've used the truck to go off roading as well as towing an have yet to have any issues. Love it they last forever as long as you take care of them.
Come down to Texas and buy one. They're giving you rebates off the sticker price just to get them off the lot and prep for the 25's. That same TRD Pro possibly equipped with the same BS dealer installed items will probably go for $49,000 here in West Texas.
Toyota pricing on trucks is off the chain nowadays. Better off buying one about 3 years old.
The dealers are adding gross amounts to used Toyotas of any model.
We just looked at one today. $58K with all factory options off the truck. No markups. We nearly drove it off the lot but they had not yet put it through inspection so we could not test drive it. We really do not want a turbo engine so this is probably the last year we can get the 6 cyl engine. Dealership told us no discounts, we had to pay MSRP (but no markups) and it was likely the last 2024 TRD Pro they would get in. We have a 48 hour hold on it so we will decide tomorrow if we want to buy it.
You could've ended up in zip-ties like Diddy's buddies.
Well said....the only crime here is the dealer greed!
I'm gonna catch a little flak comparing the two brands, but in the year 2000, a 2001 Isuzu VehiCROSS cost $32,000 brand new. Adjusted for inflation, that comes out to a little over $58,000.
These two are comparable SUVs, in my opinion, being body on frame, longitudinal 4WD.
With that being stated, for how much more you're getting in the newer vehicles, to pretty much stay on par with inflation is honestly legendary.
Kudos to Toyota.
I refuse to deal with dealers that add market adjustments.
How can you forward this video to Toyota corporate
They don’t care at all. I’ve sent them things in the past. Give zero f’s
That is a waste of time and effort. As a former District Mgr ( factory rep for Mercedes-Benz of No America and 7 1/2 years as the same for Mazda Motors of Am)... I can tell you this...
It is not necessarily because the manufacturer does not care, by law they may not discuss retail pricing.. period. Illegal. Once the dealer takes possession of the vehicle, he can sell at MSRP, 7% off the MSRP, or price any amount they want, to include $14,995. They can give the vehicle away, send it to the dump or burn it. It's their vehicle. The manufacturer has no say.
By the way , there is no such thing as adjusting for market value. Weasel words. This is known as a "dealer pack". If there was such a thing as adjusting for market value, the manufacturer would do it.. well, it seems they already have with the obscene pricing. This has been going on for decades. Think Mazda RX7 back in 70s. As much as 50% added to the MSRP. $11, 000 for an $7,500 car.
There are two local Toyota dealers here in So Oregon.
One is known as the Evil Empire.. the other is Grants Pass Toyota. The evil Empire packed all of their vehicles at the beginning of covid ( they did it prior but a couple grand over was normal) Their packs are now in the multiple thousands and though covid is over , the "packs" remain. Gts Pass Toyota decided to sell at MSRP where, prior, the average "fixed" price was about 7% off MSRP. Their sales have sored and have attracted many potential buyers from the Evil Empire.
PS the Evil Empire has many dealerships locally and around the country. In my opinion, to be avoided, as the dealer in this video should be as well.
The dealer markups and fees are patently absurd. If I was Corporate Toyota I would shut these types of dealerships down. Its a complete fleecing of the consumer!
Greedy Toyota will lose good customers because of their stupid markups!
That’s not Toyota, that’s a sleazy dealership
It's the dealers that are greedy, most of them don't want to deal anymore.
Toyota isn’t greedy, and all your state legislators have to do is get rid of the protection these dealers have. Vote… ask the candidates if they’re willing to allow direct from manufacture sales.
@@hope-y1p It's a clearly marked, no tricks, ASKING price. It might be lunatic pricing that makes 99% of shoppers run away but it's not sleazy.
Toyo has NOTHING to do with it. Maybe, do your homework before making ignorant comments as such!
My '13 Tundra was paid in the summer of '18. I paid it off one month at a time over 5 years at 0% financing, and why the heck not. It still runs like a champ and has cost me only insurance, gas, personal property taxes here in AR (less than $100 a year I think), and a multi-point inspection every 10 months (we don't put that many miles on it between the truck and my Jeep).
Why the heck would I buy a new one?
That is ridiculous. I got a 2023 Pro and included a paint treatment/repair coverage that they overcharged for but it was a little over $1,000, but nothing else. Got it in Dec 2022, when there were still shortages.
$14k over is absurd.
All that paint, seat protectant, nitrogen in the tires is total BS. It's pure profit add on for the dealership. The floor mats are on ebay or amazon for a lot less than the dealer mark up.
LOVE that you made this vid. THANK YOU! But there's many youTubers out there saying that the dealerships "are feeling the pain". REALLY? Where? This is insulting. And if someone buys this 4Runner they are only contributing to the problem.
That's a $1,400 car note 😳
Which, to some people, is pocket change. Not to me, sadly.
@@greeneyesmsyeah but pocket change for a 4runner? Those people are buying markes up super suvs or super cars
@@INNIMA I was acquainted with a guy who bought a new car or pickup every 6 months simply out of boredom. If something caught his eye, he just bought one. Some people have $$$
My friend works for a Toyota dealer here in Florida. They are setting the stage for huge markups (15-25k) for the new Land Cruiser and Lexus GX550. There purposely won’t be a cheap 4Runner to fall back on. Also, as these markups are accepted again by idiots, the 2025 next gen 4Runner will also be massively marked up. I know Toyota has a great reputation for reliability, but at what cost?
Haha, probably Toyota of Orlando!
Is that at Priority Toyota in Chesapeake Virginia?
Yep, it is.
@@themgtowinfinium Good to know. Thanks.
In Australia a top-of-the-line Hilux is around $85k, Ford Ranger is around $90k with options, Ram 1500 $110-$150k and a TRX is around $250k, people still buy them in the droves🤷♂️
50k plus for a mid size SUV? Already lost me before the market adjustment joke. Yall are stupid for paying that much for a 4runner and i love them. I love Touota but pricing has gone retarded since 2020
Retarded? Grow up!
I find it hilarious about all the people saying they won't buy it but the reality is there's so many people that will the prices are never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever going down again
market adjustment means "we're screwing you because we feel like it"..
$73k for a 20 year old 4 runner is crazy.
i’m also a consumer, and a business owner. they are a business, they have limited allocations and this is a last year of generation is in peak demand. Market forces will level the price if they are indeed asking more then others
Apparently someone over at Toyota or this dealership saw this vid. I was at this dealership a couple of weeks ago getting some maintenance done to my ride. While I was waiting I looked at the price stickers on the vehicles in the showroom and all the dealer markups had been removed. Some even looked like they were ripped off by someone who was in a rush to take them down.
Maybe but I bet it is the other vid that came out about a month ago by fourdasher. It has over 1 million views now. He secretly recorded the negotiations. He did end up buying without all those markups. He bought a hybrid Corolla from Priority. They found out and asked him to redact their names and he blurred out the dealership name, too. But this is exactly who it is. I saw the original vid with the name not blurred out.
It actually gets worse as the newer Toyotas like this are going with 4 cylinder twin turbo charged engines which is a huge mistake. This set up will cause more wear and tear on the engine and it isn't going to last as long as the older models. If they put in a 5.7L V-8 with a timing chain back in their SUVs it is going to last well over 300k miles. If I buy a newer Toyota it will be one that is about 4 years old that has that set up and will last. I bought a used '04 Toyota Sequoia Premium in December 2019 for $3,500 with 265k miles on it and there is no way I would buy a new one anywhere near that price. I now have over 300k miles on it and expect to have it till it hits 500k. That one is the 4.7L V-8 engine with a timing belt, so I have to change it every 100k miles or risk it breaking. Next Toyota will be the newest used one with the 5.7 L before the design change. The turbo engines will not last that long.
The dealer where I got mine last year pulled teh same crap and said "non-negotiable". I told them to kick rocks, went and posted scathing reviews on Google and Yelp reviews, and they called me back in an hour begging to make a deal. I still paid slightly over MSRP, but at least tolerable.
So you're one of the enablers, paying over MSRP. Sorry to hear that.
I had a dealer tell me they were doing 10K markup on TRD Pro Tundras when I was looking for a new 22. Never called them again. Found a dealer that doesnt do markups. Its a literal "we just want more cash for this one" charge.
I’m locked into a quote of $48K for a new Off Road Premium with KDSS, I am loving it!!! It seems like prices are all over the place based on not only location, but also individual Toyota dealerships among common locations.
LMAO you said “Really sweet looking rear end” 😂
Thanks for pointing out that the roof rack will probably never be used and just cause unnecessary drag.
I just got the same vehicle yesterday at $57000. It’s in St. Louis, MO. What can I say, they had only one trd pro and that was a huge dealership. It’ssoooo crazy to find the car you like and the color you like. What is wrong with this world???
For reference, I recently purchased a brand new gx460 for $61k with 5300 off from Lexus
As well as a one mint owner 95 Supra turbo for $75k
This shit absolutely insane
I bought my 4Runner here at the beginning of the pandemic and they were so desperate that I got a massively good deal on an off-road pro way below msrp. Now look how greedy they are. Super disappointed with them.
73k wow.. saw one other day.. 68k price tag.. crazy. I love those when I was South America.. but not for that price!
It's a trophy vehicle. I got a Trail Premium, spent a lot less money and I have a truly off road capable vehicle that gets me out there and gets me back.
This is why I went to Greentree Toyota in Danbury CT. My Dealer in my town told me 6kto 9k Above sticker price. I told him goodbye. Started working the phones and calling all Toyota dealers within my driving distance. They told me to come in. They dont do mark ups. But I would be paying sticker. It was 53K for my 2022 ORP with many Pro upgrades.
Makes you wonder where we will be in 5 to 10 years price wise. Great video 👍🏻
I am glad we purchased our new Toyota Vehicles back in spring of 2022.
We bought a Fully Loaded 2022 RAV4 Limited Hybrid for $42K MSRP and a 2022 Base Corolla for $23K MSRP.
The Dealership in our area would not go above the MSRP.
I even negotiated down the cost of the Extended Warranty on both vehicles.
However, I agree that this Mark Up crap is just that CRAP!
It tells you also that their Service Department 'Marks Up Prices' as well in my opinion.
They're not called "stealerships" for nothing.......15 year design, thing should 50k tops. What an insane joke.
40k.
Americans need to come up with a law to Prevent dealerships from doing this.
This is why I bought a used Xterra for 300 bucks and spent the money on rebuilding the engine, and suspension and fixing odds and ends. Meanwhile buddies have a new TRD and is drowning in debt.
This is got to be one of my favorite 4Runner videos 😂😂
