Why I Bought A Nissan and Not Toyota (Biggest Toyota Fan)

- Just MY opinions on why I think the Frontier is better than the Tacoma. Again, some of this is subjective so don’t take it personal. Both trucks are awesome and they both have their pros and cons, but this is just explaining why I chose the Frontier over the Tacoma.

But seriously I love the Tacoma so chill, just watch the entire video before you comment
There’s a TH-cam video on how to bypass the auto stop.
I bought a Nissan as well---a Titan!
I honestly was considering buying a Frontier after my last Tacoma saved me from a car wreck, but I just ended up buying another Tacoma hahaha. Still, those Frontiers are looking mighty nice 👀
@@danielg6542 I would have easily bought the Frontier if it had manual. Easily.
WE all make mistakes. You'll come to your senses
Nissan hit it out of the park with these given the times. Kept the NA V6, hydraulic steering, no turbos and truck simplicity. These things also feel tanky and tough.
Wish they kept a manual though.
I’ve owned my 2022 Frontier for about a year and a half now and I agree. I love the truck. The old-school tech was a big selling point. The truck feels way better built than my buddies 2020 Tundra. I know that’s sacrilege but it’s true. The Tundra has a thin, hollow feel to it. In comparison, the Frontier feels solid and substantial.
@@thetinysideoftiny7625How is the transmission ? Does it feel like it’s looking for gears ? I test drove a used 2022 with 50k miles and long bed. It felt like the transmission was slipping. Maybe it was just the one I test drove .
transmission and engine are fantastic. Must have been the one you drove because the transmission picks the correct gear and holds it. No constant up and down shifting like the Tacoma’s I drove. Drive train is a gem
@@thetinysideoftiny7625 oh ok . I will test drive another one but with a short bed . Maybe that makes a difference ?
I’m a Toyota guy myself. 4 MR2, Supra, and LX470 that I wheeled the hell out of. I’m about 6 months in on my Pro4x and it’s been a dream.
4 MR2?
AW11 4 Lyfe
how do you feel with just 281 torque? this number seems to be low for a truck
Dude you might have saved me from a 10k mistake. The SR5 Tacoma is 45k in my area, that beautiful Frontier is 47 fully loaded. I think I’m going to be saving $10,000 and getting a frontier. update I bought the Frontier.
How is it?
@@johnmcdonald5636 Its been great, fuel is about 20-24 mpg. The v6 sounds great, the off the line speed is slow but enough to get the tires screaming. Shifts smooth does not feel like it's looking for gears at all.
The fender sound system is needed if you listen to music alot I did not get the tech package. So I don't have it. But with a few adjustments is its fine. Storage is bad, Im about to buy a larger under seat storage add-on.
Screen is bright and you can really customize how you like it. I got a Pro 4x also and the ride is still a truck feeling but doest beat you up at all.
Turn radius is that of a much larger truck. I had an easier turn in a ram 1500. But that does't bother me.
Build quality is Rather high Nothing feels cheap or moves, makes noise or feels out of place. The hydraulic steering is something to get used to, I came form a Ford fusion which is using drive by wire for everything. This truck is hydraulic everything so bit of an adjustment.
I'm happy with what I bought, Plus the deanship did not have the truck marked up 5k, and I have an extra 200k powertrain warranty from them.
How is it!
You should make your own review after a few months of ownership and let us know how it goes.
@@johnwayneasgenghiskhan4699 I typed out a response but TH-cam did not save it. Long story shot, it rides great, feels like a truck but does not beat you up like I felt in a tacoma or a f150. Gas is fantastic 20-24 mpgs, sound system is OK. Get the fender add-on if yo love music. IT needs more storage, But there are add-ons for 100ish bucks so not an issue. The build quality is better than any car I have ever owned. I have had a 2015 jeep trail hawk 2020 ford fusion se and 2016 mustang For references. It does not rattle, moan or feel lose. The seats are good, supportive and soft at the same time. To BE FAIR I'm 5'7 163 so I fit well if you 6ft or taller as long as your slender your good if you are built They might be a tad small you will need to test that. I 'm stalled by Full-size seats.
The inside is clean and feels like a truck with out losing the fit and finish of a higher trim. The engine sounds great, the torque is enough to get the tires lose and get you moving. But does feel low For day to day not an issue, it does not have the right to feel as good as it does on the highway. I did not get the Tech package so I can't speak to the add-ons there. The hydraulic brakes and steering feel good, but take a moment to get used to. Turn radius is middle of the road, a Ram 1500 turns better. Overall BANG FOR BUCK IS There.
As a Toyota tech. I will 100% take the new updated titan and frontier over the Tacoma and tundra. Nissan gets a bad rep because of their passenger cars. Their sports cars and trucks are amazing. You can find 2023 titan Pro4x with 5K miles rn for 45k in Alabama and a few other places I saw similar listing. The frontier is the perfect balance between new tech and old school rugged traditional style trucks. The VQ engine has been around since 2002 in the pathfinder, very refined engine. I will be looking to grab a black Pro4x with leather interior for 35k with under 50k miles soon. Toyota messed up really bad and this is Nissan’s opportunity to pounce, if I was Nissan I would put an updated back up camera in the frontier, add a halo type trim(maybe make the frontier warrior concept they released a few years back. I mean hell bring back the manual trans.
@brandon_buildsDIY funny, because my friend is a master tech at nissan, and he buys ford trucks! Said he'd never buy a Nissan truck. I guess it's because he only sees them when there is something wrong.
I was so set on the New Toyota but so afraid of the new tech.
Yes, manual option, and a nismo or warrior pack, and make it so cool that it hunts down the Toy trailhunter. This is truly time for Nussan to regain glory like in 1970 when they had the best little truck, the dominating Z, and the great 510.
Absolutely correct on the Titan. I got a 2022 Titan Pro-4x in October with only 4000 miles for 44750. Awesome truck but my mistake was trading my 2022 Frontier S crew RWD. I bought it brand new for $28,000 in 2022 and traded it for around $27,000 with 10,000 miles. The MPG was insane, I was getting close to 30 MPG in that Base Frontier.
well coming from someone that knows has a family member that has a rigged out pro titan, it’s not convenient. He broke a tie rode and had to wait an entire 2 weeeks with his truck in the shop cause no one had the part. Being different isn’t always okay cause of the rarity of parts
Nissan's V6 motors are so underrated
I really wish I was paying attention sooner, because you are right.
Still driving a 2004 Tacoma TRD Off-Road here. 255,000 miles and still runs good. Good video, if buying a brand new, I would take a hard look and test drive that Frontier. I like that it still has naturally aspirated V6.
I have a 2016 TRD Sport with KDMAX tuning and drive a ‘24 TRD Off Road all week in Detroit. I was expecting the ‘24 to have a lot more low end torque, but it didn’t compared to my tuned Gen 3. I like the new seats and seating position in the ‘24, but would consider the Frontier as well if purchasing a new midsize truck.
I have a v8 4runner
Looking to get a truck and at 45K new
This is a tough decision between a Tacoma
Watch out, those taco guys are gonna spit out their fruit flavored beer over this. Be careful out there.
Not a taco guy, but you aren't making fun of "fruit flavor beer " that's 8-9% ABV while you drink 4% light beer (alcoholic water) are you? Ha
@@RockCh4lki think he was talking about the tacoma soy boys

@meme-bj1pe I see you guys poking fun at "tacoma bois". But there is no negativity coming from them on here, it's just being directed at them.
Meme is a closet pole smoker
2022 Frontier owner here. My 4x4 crew cab has 43,000 trouble free miles on it. I love the traditional v6 power, smooth 9 speed, superior on road drivability as well. Most of all though, it's a traditional truck. Love the truck feel it has. It's everything I want and need in a truck. congratulations on your Frontier.
Anecdote is anecdotal. 43,000 miles is definitely impressive...for a Nissan
@@thomaswilder3193 That's about what my wife's Sienna had when the transmission went out the first time, and again at 123,000 miles. Worst vehicle out of 30 that I've owned. You drive what you want..... I'm not a guy to tell how good a Toyota is to.
@@phw2274what year ?
@@thomaswilder3193Your comment calls your ignorance out clearly. Many folks by now know about the Million Mile Frontier on TH-cam. If you're gonna make prejudiced Toi Boi comments, at least make them factual. Frontiers and their predecessors are notoriously dependable.
How bout them Taco frames that rusted in half? Amnesia got ya?
@@jeanclaude7018 a bit emotional, eh? I'm not talking about pReDeCeSsOrs. Nissan is nowhere near what they once were. This is well documented. As for the primary point that I made... 43,000 is not impressive for any brand whatsoever. But it's the loudest mfers and their anecdotes coping harder than your dick is while meatriding a brand that doesn't give a fuck about you. As for rusting Tacoma frames, touche lol.
Price, ease of financing, and lots of unwanted ones sitting on lots. The end, saved everyone some time
Toyota and Lexus are chasing the computerized hybrid and turbo 4 cylinders bc of newer sr mgmt and it’s a cyclical profit cycle. If Nissan stays with the V6 and just refines - they could be the new Toyota Tacoma for newer buyers who just want reliability and best bang for the buck.
I wish Nissan would bring the XTerra back on the Frontier platform
I’ve had 2.
2002 base model
2015 Pro 4X
These trucks are solid.
Would buy a third in a heartbeat.
Reliable
Who wants space shuttle technology in a truck🤢
It looks like the XTerra is coming back next year or the year after
Hello from Indonesia. Here in Asia Pacific, we've already got Nissan Terra years ago, which is the SUV version of Frontier / Navara (Asian spec) with 7 speed automatic transmission torque converter. I suspect the USA will get the X-Terra soon, also the Patrol / Armada and next generation Titan
They are. Follow kirk kreifels
I have a 2010 Xterra Off Road (pre pro4x) and it's a tank and it goes anywhere I need to. I paid $8000 for it in 2018 with 108k on the odometer.
How many miles on it now?@@eddieb1766
48k miles, 2.5 years, towing, 4-wheeling and no issues! This truck goes hard!
I have a 2024 Nissan Frontier Pro4x and it looks exactly like yours and I’m in love with it. It’s my first Nissan idk why I never gave them a chance along time ago. The seats are so comfortable, the interior and exterior looks great. The steering wheel doesn’t bother me at all it gives me the feel of a real truck. I’m adding stickers and decals on it to give it a retro vibe. It looks great and I’ve had people come up to me and compliment my Frontier because you hardly see the new models on the road. My already has 7,500 miles on it and I’ve haven’t had any issues with it runs like a gem. (: I’m very satisfied with it and I also choose the Frontier over the 2024 Tacoma.
Congratulations on your Frontier. I have a 2022 4x4 crew cab with 43,000 trouble free miles. It's a fantastic truck. loving every drive.
I'm very happy for you, looks like a great rig!
Thanks for the video. As a former Xterra Pro4x owner myself, and now in a 2022 Frontier Pro4x (and also in Texas), it's great to see others having good experiences with the truck. So far, 20K miles on mine and no issues. Looking forward to getting back out to Big Bend myself.
The places I took my 2001 Xterra and the things it did would sound like I was selling them for Nissan. What finally nuked Xena was me driving in salted road conditions. The entire brake line system rotted out and at 70 years old, I ain't that guy anymore.
Agree on all points. Just bought a 2024 Nissan Frontier Pro4X after having 2021 TRD Off Road. Went through all the same thoughts. Only con, same as you, is that I would prefer it sat a little higher and wider with a more aggressive stance and a little beefier suspension but other than that it’s better than my last Tacoma. Nicer interior. Rides nicer. Good power. Amazing sound system. Definitely the best bang for your buck in this segment.
Do your research on a "titan swap" it's the nissan thing lol... front suspension from a nissan titan bolts right up. Gives you about a 4 inch lift and extended travel and wider stance
You’re on the money brotha! Also a longtime Toyota guy. Keep up the good work!
Beautiful truck man, I also loved the look on your previous video!
I’ve been driving nothing but Toyota for 38 years. The newest version is way too complicated with so many electronic features to fail. (And many already have)
The beauty of the Nissan is its simplicity. I am most likely jumping to Nissan.
Same. I love my 02 taco and 96 Hilux, but I'll want a new truck eventually and I'm just not sold on newer Tacoma's.
Great review! Been a Frontier fan for years even though I’ve never owned one…had several friends in Utah that would run circles around us in theirs. Those things were indestructible and could go anywhere
We had a 2007 Xterra & 2009 Pathfinder. Both purchased brand new & natural aspirated V6. Super reliable, just routine maintenance.
Enjoyed your work on this video. Very fair and candid on both trucks.
That creaking you hear is either the bushing from the leaf shackle to the spring or the tailgate against the bed. My issue is the tailgate, mind you I have a 2010 P4X
Shoulda bought a Titan! I did, a 2023 Pro4X. It ain't got stop/start. Love the V8 sound and power! It's a hot rod! The seat is the most comfortable I've ever had and I'm 80. One reason I bought a Titan is that my wife's Infiniti EX37 bought new has had 0 problems in the 10 years and 58k miles she has put on it. It came with the 325hp 3.7 L engine, 7 speed auto and RWD. It's definitely a hot rod.
My very first truck was a 2014 Nissan frontier I had about 131,000 miles on that truck. It had zero problems and I’ve owned it for five years, and I just wanted something a little different so I got a Tacoma, because of the modifications that you could do to It there’s definitely a good amount of modifications that you could do to the frontier which I did. both trucks are my favorite but honestly the Nissan frontier was a really solid truck and people don’t want to believe it sucks for them. 😂
Man I had the nessian rouge and it had nothing but problem. I don’t like nessian for that reason lol.
@@foodreview3187 yeah, the cars and SUV from Nissan are not very good but the trucks are really the only things that last and don’t have problems
@@foodreview3187 I will say that the rogue, Altimas/small cars that Nissan makes are not good only because of the transmission choice that they made, but the trucks and Xterra on the other hand, have a normal automatic or manual transmission that do not fail like the other Nissan cars do I would only recommend Nissan if they go for the trucks but that’s pretty much it.
Yup that what I heard. Other nessian car suck except the truck or the cvt manual.
I probably won’t get another nessian if I want a truck I’d prolly wait for the Toyota stout or the ford maverick but I heard there a ton of recalls on those
pretty cool to see a very unbiased review coming from a previous tacoma owner and some one who owns Toyotas. I have had my D41 since they got released like three years ago. Im looking forward to see what direction you go with this!
I like these frontiers too. I got to do production for the Nissan booth at the Texas state fair last year and I got to drive the same frontiers. Not far but still liked it very much. We've also come from a Toyota background. We have had the Tacoma with crawl control and 4x4 4runner.
I love my Yotas, I'm blessed to own a Scion xD and a AWD Venza, but the Frontier just makes sense. Cheap, reliable, dependable, easy to maintain and a NA V6 plus it's on a ladder frame and it's basic.
I love my 2019 Frontier Midnight because it's the last year for the 4.0L 5AT and it's soooo simple. I mainy use it for camping and winter weather driving but sometimes I help family and friends move or tow small vehicles.
People always hate on Nissan trucks but IMHO it's better that way because it keeps prices down.
I like the look of your Frontier. I have a Gen 1 Tacoma with manual trans. It is super reliable, with 309,00 original miles on the engine. I have driven a Gen 3 Tacoma and the auto transmission was very poor. Not a fan of the newer Tacos.
Took mine to a tuner. Permanently turned off the auto start/stop 💪✔️💪‼️
Typically 4 to 10% less few economy. Quite a bit more engineered from oil analysis due to fuel delusion. There’s some good science videos from engineering explain and lake Speed, junior.
2024 is a good year for Frontier. 3rd year of the redesign and all the bugs 🐜 have been worked out. Wise choice. That 4 cylinder turbo in the Tacoma is a rat 🐀
Nice truck! I’m a GM fanboy but the Frontier Pro 4x is a gorgeous looking truck! Real nice
I've always had great experiences with Nissan in the past. I can't wait to see your Frontier in person!
may have been asked... did you lift it or is that stock height?
I'm going to be commenting while following along with your video man..
On the, "Everyone and their mom has a Tacoma":
I agree with you 100%!! All I see on the road are Tacomas, and yeah they are dope, and yeah I'm a huge Toyota fan, but they're all I see on the road lol. I own a 2006 Tacoma 4x4 TRD Off road, while I love it so much, it's not because its a Taco, but because it was my grandpa's truck when he was still alive. I love the truck and am thankful to have such a reliable truck, but if I never had the Taco, I would've gone with the new frontier 110%.
N/A engines vs turbos:
I agree with you, but coming from a very basic DIY mechanic guy, I don't want to deal with turbos putting a lot of unnecessary stress on my engine.
Reliability of Nissan/Why you chose the Frontier:
My wife and I own an 2010 Xterra 4x4 also. I love this truck, it's super reliable, and we haven't had anything break on it yet besides the rear leaf pack breaking but that was because it was out from the east coast lol, so it was pretty rusty.
The frontier:
Dude my dream would have to be to get the Sand (light brown) color, love that color. The price, yeah it sucks, but the way I see it, if you want something loaded with goodies, the Frontier has a lot going on for the price. I just like the Frontiers, because they're a TRUCK. No fancy bs attached.
Glad I’m not the only thinking of going with Nissan. I’m personally thinking of the Nissan Titan. Toyota is losing loyal customers due to dealer markups. Nice Frontier.
2024 is the last year of the Nissan Titan but they are good trucks.
I had a 16 trd off road that also go a squeak in the rear spring after some off road use. Long story short try this, anything that can touch the spring when it flexes or a bushing, spray a little bit of lubricant in there, I used a little bit of silicone spray if memory serves me correctly, wont be a permanent fix but can help you narrow down which part is causing it
I'm a fan of this truck. Like you said, the look is great. Nissan did a great job on the design. Looking forward to see what you dow ith it, man!
Great choice huge Toyota junkie here I would never ever buy a new rig always had older Toyotas recently bought a tacoma 2007 it’s the newest I will ever own just way to many electronics for me because I enjoy wrenching on my stuff excited for this video 🔥
I like having my newer truck BUT always keeping my old Toyotas in case I need a real truck😎
I think it’s really cool that you went with the frontier, me being a Toyota owner I appreciate the feedback that you’re going to provide from a previous Toyota owner perspective.
What aftermarket support does the frontier have? Decent travel lift kit?
Rob the gen2 nissan titan front end suspension(bolts right in) and you now have 4" extended travel
Only truck that hit every box for me. V6. More comfortable cab than any other model. Normal shifter and not that stupid knob. Manual parking break. Feels and sounds like a truck. Couldn’t be happier!
Where did you get those mounts on your dash?
I'm curious of how tall you are. I didn't get a tacoma because I didn't fit in it. 6'4" my knees were half way up the steering wheel and I couldn't get a good adjustment. I didn't get a frontier because the beds are too small for me.
I still have my 2005 Frontier Nismo edition. I bought it in Texas and have used it in all scenarios from dry beaches to muddy country roads. Its been solid. I now live in Canada, its gotten me to work on days when the city has shut down due to snow and ice and it hasn't failed once. The 4wd and rear locker has gotten me through many snow and ice storms. With the mountainous terrain the downhill assist has also been solid on rainy and snowy days. I'm driving it till the wheels fall off.
Prior Nissan Xterra Gen 2 owner. 6 speed manual with Off Road package. Side airbags went off when I was driving on a dirt road. Nissan refused to handle the repair. Also had numerous problems with the catalytic converters and CEL issues.
I saw a video that Nissan didn't put a breather hole in the transfer case and that it could over heat. Is that true?
Cool video dude, love the comparison. Especially you being a Toyota guy as well. I will admit I like the new frontiers, they have a few more functional options over my gen Tacoma(2022) but it would go against my Toyota blood
What is a teyota?
Good info, thx!
How is your transmission doing ?
Are you ever in 9th gear at 40 mph ? Thats been happening to me lately.
Your thoughts are exactly why i bought a 24 p4x in Feb with same color and packages as you. My question is which yakima rack is that, there website doesnt confirm compatibility and it only says supports 500 lbs of weight.
I’m the proud owner of a 2013 Nissan frontier and now a 2023 (same trim level as you) frontier. No complaints and in this market they are more affordable than the competition.
Are there differences in performance between the two? If yes, is it significant or noticeable?
@@richarde1355the Tacoma V6 comes in at 275 HP, while the 2023-24 Frontier comes standard with a 310 HP V6. Better torque and towing capacity. I would say the Nissan is the better option based off price. Toyota does have better longevity as a vehicle due to better manufacturing and parts quality IMHO
Frontier gang! 💪🏽 love it bro! You gained a follower
I bought a Nissan too, instead of the new Tacoma taco turbo, don't regret it at all, no unreliable turbos for me.
I used to connect an empty trailer plug and it would trick the computer into keeping the auto start/stop off. 6gang or 4 prong plug at Walmart is cheap.
Do you have a dipstick to check the fluid in the transmission in that truck?
No these do not come with that. Also install a skid plate over the transmission pan if you do buy one
What are your thoughts on early signs of superficial rust on new Frontiers?
I came from Toyota as well (fully built FJ Cruiser) to the new frontier. It is a good truck if you are looking for an answer to the 3rd gen tacoma, but if you want all the latest tech the 4th gen tacoma is superior (at an increased price point). Had my Pro4x for over a year, and it has been solid.
So where you get that walkie talkie from?
We fixed that ideal switch, using a toothpick broken at bottom of switch to hold it in it’s been 3 months and not a problem still
I sold my 1997 tacoma on bringatrailer couple months back for $30k! My daily is a new 4Runner. I refuse to drive american made. The low quality isn't worth the risk. Timmy C Arizona
Agreed. Domestics look good and have flashy gimmicks but no reliability.

Nissan's traction control is really good. They just don't make it an advertising thing.
Crawl control not needed when you have a rear Locker.
I can’t believe you didn’t go with a Teeyoda.
I felt pain every time he said that
Immediately after I watch the Big bend video I booked that campsite. That drive to Pilas de los Muchachos was freaking awesome for a first timer.
Not sure but I have a 2016 Frontier and I’ve had noise in the bed from time to time. Like you said when you take off. It ended up being the rubber cover strip in the bed rail system moving and sort of giving a small clunk. Also check the tie down rings in the rail they can rattle if not kept tight.
Is the Frontier in the Truck Gang? And can you change the oil without lifting it off the ground? If so, I think I may buy one.
Love your truck. Much respect for your opinion. I have a 21 TRD Pro in Lunar Rock and a 2003 TRD Off Road Tacoma. Never any problems, but will admit the Nissan Pro4X is a damn good looking truck. And I will only stick with tried and true NA engines... at least for as long as I can.
You can’t go wrong with those Tacomas 👌🏼
I have a 2023 Pro 4X. Bought it November 2023. Just hit 8000 kms. Since the transmission update it is smooth as anything. Make sure you install an oil catch can.
What transmission update?
@@mt-0935 They had a software update so that cruise control would stop getting so aggressive.
To catch crankcase ventilation discharge?
@@mt-0935 TSB update for cruise control harsh shifting. 2022 to May 2023 production.
@user-xh7cy3uj8x Because it's a direct Injection engine, catch can is needed to capture blow by/oil that would get dumped back in the engine. Well worth the money. I have a J&L one.
That noise isn't from your leaf springs it may sound like it is but it's coming from your front axle inside the hub. There is a repair that Nissan does that uses Molly lube on the axle shaft and that goes into the front bearings. No need to remove it just put Molly lube on the front and rear of the axle shaft outer portion once you remove the axle retaining nut. This will resolve the noise issue.
How long has Nissan had this v6? Interested in highest mileage and their expectations
Wow! You mentioned you heard a creaking noise in the back of your frontier. I had the same issue when I had mine. Mine was a 2017 pro X frontier it worked great except for that issue you mentioned and I hydraulic system locked up in the steering wheel and I found out they put the item on upside down or whatever, anyway they change it no problem but the power and the other factors of it like the stereo system and all the other tidbits were great. Currently now I have a 2023 Tacoma lime green naturally aspirated daily driver. It’s doing well. I will drive the Hilex instead of the Tacoma fourth GEN if I had the option.
In Mexico you can get the diesel 4 cilinder 4x4, manual ttansmission. I may get it, about 36K out the door price.
Literally sold my 2020 TRD off road Tacoma last night. Already miss it but due to growing family I need more space, looking at a 2019 Tundra TRD off road package in cement.
3rd gen tacomas are the best looking imo. The new gen of frontier is also a good looking truck, reminds me of the Tacoma in a lot of ways
Tundra is the way to go 🤙🏼
Sorry for your loss 😢
Nissan’s trash marketing decision to discontinue the manual transmission after 2020, likely for cost reduction is the exact reason why I didn’t buy a new one and instead, went with the new Tacoma. Otherwise I would have bought one without hesitation. There are probably a good number of consumers that are/were in the same position resulting in Nissan actually losing money.
Noise? Could it be the frame? Small crack?
I got a 2023 Tacoma 4x4 because it's bomb proof powertrain. Also, the value retention is literally unmatched. I consider the 2023 Frontier, but my neighbor has a 2022 and has had issues with the transmission. Also, he said the turning radius sucks.
I’ve had my ‘23 Pro4x for a year and a half now and 22k miles on it. Not a single issue and love the drive. My complaints were similar, terrible cameras, wish all windows were auto instead of only the driver, annoyed they there isn’t seat memory presets. Biggest wish is a 6 foot bed option. Minor stuff. I put the Nismo 1.5 inch lift on it and it looks and feels great. Slowly building it into an overlander for some offroad, but we don’t have anything too wild in Minnesota. It’s a tank through the snow up here.
I just bought the Frontier s 4x4 with about 16k miles for 30k, loving it so far and plan on doing some upgrades soon. Absolutely loving it so far. Big upgrade from my 09 ranger 2wd
Thanx for letting me have my own opinion jerc
Xterra Pro-4x guy here and been very happy. Mog is never overly favorable, but it's a good truck and does what i need to do.
Great review! almost makes me want to look into getting one, but I cant do that to my Jeep. :)
Just curious but why didn't you consider the American trucks (Colorado, Canyon, Ranger, Gladiator) or the Ridgeline (Trail sport since you like off-roading.)
Cuz they are all trash.
Beautiful pickup, just saw a white one on the road and I fell in love.
Did you sell the tundra?
My 2011 Frontier SL has 120K miles and not a single issue. Paint looks bad now days but runs like a champ. Had a 96 hard body back in the day and a 92 Toyota. Wife drives a 23 Pathfinder. Great vehicles.
Agree with everything you said. I was in market about 6 months ago and ended up with a 23 taco with a stick
Do they have a 6foot bed?
i'll never forget the month I test drove a nissan gt r. That transmission shift when the torque activates made me forget all sport cars, same v6 as their trucks
Cool! But, what is a Tiyota?
I am a domestic vehicle guy (my dad works for Ford) but I have to admit that the new Frontier's styling looks great!
The Frontier is made in Mississippi!
I have had my Frontier Pro4X for almost a year and couldn't be happier. Was really considering the Tacoma but wasn't sure about all of the changes they did and how they would shake out.
I have a 2020 frontier, just a regular truck not 4x4, and I get a weird creaking sound as well when I turn at slow speeds. That’s the only problem I’ve had with this truck since I bought it. I was thinking of trading it in for the exact truck like yours, but I’m just putting in more money to fix my 85 s15 4x4. I’m a valley boy too and think I saw your Toyota around edinburg a couple months back. Figured it was you but I saw it from a distance
I love my 2019 Nissan Titan Pro4x. I have a 6" Rough Country lift kit with 34" Tires...its a beast. Has a 400 hp V8.
I was in same boat end of last year looking for new midsize truck did a lot home work and I do have a lot experience with trucks and different setup for off road and overland so I ended getting new 23 Tacoma TRD off-road almost loaded in January 24 for great deals I flew to Oregon to pick it up and had a blast driving long way home very happy with last production 3 Gen
Good luck with Nissan I hope you will have better luck then my Nissan in 2003
Dude that truck is a sick. I currently own a 2021 4Runner trd pro but no denying the titan is a really badass truck.
I'm predicting that the 4 banger turbo trend will reverse with the next generation of trucks.
or a new president who isn't a demented old fool
@RockCh4lk We are headed towards everything being hybrid or EV.
@@steve8803 no, we are not. when biden leaves, support for the climate change hoax will leave with him, along with the bogus companies that he enriched with our tax money.
I have a 2015 Xterra Pro-4X (SUV version of Frontier). Now at 110,000 miles. Zero issues so far. Just regular maintenance.
Which sites did you camp at at BBRSP?
