The new models like the Land Cruiser etc are awesome looking. Like anything over time we gravitate towards the newest and best things. The new models will have the best fuel consumption, newest technology, newest safety features and as usual great resell values. Plus the new interiors and comfort seem to be a notch above all the prior years ergonomically. With that being said the last 10 years are all great as well and worth taking care of and keeping.

I've been driving for 65 years. I bought the 4runner based on it's reliability record. It has all the gadgets I need and, I'm averaging 20.7 miles per gallon. Like the transmission fluid never needs to be changed, lol, and the warranty to the transmission ends at 60k miles. You have no idea how a used vehicle was maintained, and it make a huge difference, even with a 4Runner. ((EVERY)) engines has a break-in period and small bits of metal are distributed throughout the oil. If you're keeping the 4Runner long-term, you should do the first oil change at 100 miles, then 500 miles then 1000 miles, then every 3 thousand miles. ((ALL)) Toyota engineers make this claim, that's how I know it. Never get a transmission flush, on any vehicle. Buying used is rolling the dice, good luck to you.

I couldn’t agree more! I knew this months ago that the little twin turbo lawnmower engine that is in the 2024 Tacoma was becoming the way of the 4Runner. The prices have been crazy on vehicles for a while now also. Last week I knew I couldn’t wait anymore. Three TRD Pros on the lot near me, they had no TRD Pros for three months and they JUST came in on the Thursday before. One white and two black ones. I wanted white, I live in South Carolina. Dude backed out of the deal on the only white TRD Pro on the lot the Friday after they came in. Toyota dealership called me first thing Monday morning. They said you want it? Then you’d better be here within the hour. Yep, I was there! No rebates, no specials on it, dealer markup they wouldn’t budge on also. Did I get a good deal? Nope, not really…but did I get a legendary top of the line 4 Runner, and probably the last chance to get a 2024 TRD Pro before September hits and the 2025s come out. Sometimes you have to weigh up the negatives compared to the positives you’re getting. Did I pay too much? Damn straight I did. Do I feel ripped off and any regret? Absolutely not! Y’all better get one while you have the chance. Time is ticking…

7:00 all they had to do was get rid of that clock, move the AC vents up higher, then extend the 8 inch screen horizontally on each side so the screen could be 11-12 inches. Then move the knobs elsewhere. You dont need the track and seek buttons. Remove all that. The knobs for volume and changing the radio could be farther left.
If they wanted to keep the infotainment buttons, adding them above and below the sceen while removing the Siruius XM branded plate would work as well. Alot they could have done instead of just plopping in a huge tablet!

The newest version of the Tundra is made in the US and they seem to be having some quality problems with those trucks. I think only time will tell but in my opinion its the company and a culture of quality that will always make a made in Mexico Toyota of higher quality than say a made in the US Chrysler.

This video is spot on, I have been preaching the same things you talk about in this video. I have had many cars over the years from naturally asperated race car engines and some all turbo charged up and even some with nitrous. I can tell all of you, that once you add a turbo to any gasoline engine you start putting added stress on the internal parts, especially the bearings, now add thousands of pounds of towing with it and/or loading the vehicle up with more than 200lbs and your fuel economy turns to crap no matter what you do. I have yet to hear of anyone who got so much more fuel economy with these turbo charged trucks and/or SUV's. 1 to 3 more miles per gallon is nothing to even brag about, especially when it "poof" disappears once you add any weight to it. I will be trading my 2016 4Runner Premium 2WD with only 63K miles on it for a 2024 4Runner Limited or maybe and it is a big maybe the TRD PRO, I do not want full time 4WD though, if I can't find either that I want, then I will unfortunately have to turn to the Lexus GX550 with the better twin turbo 6cyl, at least that won't have to work as hard as the 4cyl turbo and will give me the reliability I expect from the Toyota/Lexus brand.

The new 6th gen engines have nothing anybody wants. Any increase in gas mileage is from the thinner and cheaper metals, the frames are thinner, and the body metal is thinner, not to mention, the plastics are cheaper material and thinner. The pressure and heat in those small engines will equate to a fast death, they won't last long. They scream and cry out loudly when asked to do very small jobs. Anything you ask of these small engines will wipe out the gas mileage. My advice if you buy these new, crappy, tiny, 6th gen 4Runners is, wrap a net around the engine and a net in the rear, to catch the engine parts when it blows up.

I'm on the fence as to what Toyota is doing to its best vehicles. A 4 cylinder turbo is cool n everything but not in an off road truck. I have owned several tacomas with the 4L, one third gen taco with the 3.5L. However I think that this switch to a 4 cylinder turbo with an outrageous price tag for a base model is a mistake. I'm keeping my 2021 off road 4runner until Toyota comes back to its senses. Oh and make a crew cab tundra with a 4x4 with a locker and a V8 for under 60K dollars and you can get me back Toyota.

There's a couple of reports on the Internet today, that a small number of dealers have the new land cruiser, in stock, for sale. However, once again, it starts, the dealers have raised the MSRP by an average of $21,000 each! Independent dealers, or not, the manufacturers should stop this disgusting practice, if by no other means, than stopping those dealers supplies.

Well, I'm 69 yrs old and my "off-roading" days are behind me. Two weeks ago I bought a 2023 4Runner SR5 Premium with 16k on it. I figure this will probably be my last vehicle. It was never in the shop except from routine maintenance. 👍 In 2016 l bought a New Tundra Limited V8 5.7 Crewcab which has been bulletproof once again. The new 2022 Tundras have reduced to a Twin Turbo V6 only. The back seat size has diminished along with headroom in cab department..👎Not trading anytime soon as I own a proven million mile truck.. With minimal maintenance it will survive.the test. Gas mileage has always been no issue, because repair costs have been minimal.to none. Dependability and Reliability Win hands down.👍😀😊
