I’ve been aplying aloe vera gel like 12 times a day for 5 days and mine is almost gone, along with some slight sunlight. It wasn’t a severe case, but it’s almost gone. Most dermatoligits haven't even heard of ec, let alone know what causes it or how to treat it. Most just prescribe tge same medications. Steriods and immune suppressants. That dont work.

I have this issue of my lips peeling like anything and one solution that is working like wonders is I stopped rubbing my lips against each other and then noticed my lips are doing far better. I have started to heal from exfoliative cheilitis by simply not picking, rubbing or licking my lips skin. I always apply plain lip balm and a mixture of oils (Coconut, almond, olive, mustard, vitamin E capsule) whenever they are getting dry and I controlled hard for not picking skin. I used to rub my lip skin unintentionally and it developed this skin condition which I was totally unaware of. Then I started to notice that my lips skin began to thicken, whitened when I was brushing or washing my face and my mom started to told me that my lips were becoming full of scars and it was turning white and light violate in colour. I was so afraid as it was getting worse day by day and I am suffering from this condition for the past 7 years. My mom is the ultimate saviour for me as she told me not to touch my lips and gave me the confidence that it will definitely heal if I refrain from skin picking. Taking care of my lips has helped me to get over this condition day by day and my lips are becoming plump, pinkish and the skin formation have delayed. I believe that in 4-5 months more I will heal completely or it could take one year, I do not know but I know this definitely that it will heal as I am seeing positive signs. So just don't pick your skin, always hydrate by applying lip balm, natural oils and stay positive. I also did not applied lipstick or any kind of tinted lip balm for the past 1.5 years. So, it will take time but it will heal ultimately, just have that belief. I was vey anxious at the beginning, but as it started to heal, I am very happy.
How to treat hyperpigmentation caused by Cheilitis? Is there even a cure for it? I have tried everything to cure this Cheilitis, and nothing has worked. Have consulted too many doctors, tried every solution, iron tabs, vit d and b, topical steroids, now what?

Stop licking it! That’s making your lips more dry and irritated. I’m guessing by your description your skin is more on the dry and sensitive side, so try to avoid using products that have alcohol or fragrance in them. Wash your face only with water in the morning and moisturize and in the night use a cleanser and moisturize. Your mouth is in a very delicate state right now. You don’t want to irritate your mouth because it Can leave hyperpigmentation. Look up contact dermatitis, usually those with lip conditions have contact dermatitis as well. Delicately wash your mouth with water to remove any dried saliva around the area, then use an anti-fungal cream, you can ask your doctor to prescribe you one or even use diaper rash cream. Let it dry, then slather your mouth in aquaphor to seal in moisture. As much as you want to, do not scratch your mouth. Also, this can be caused due to a vitamin deficancy or triggered by an unhealthy diet, maybe try vitamin B12 supplements or by eating more fruits and vegetables and drinking lots of water.

the ONLY thing that helped my exfoliative cheilitis was using tacrolimus ointment on my lips. it took 1 year for results to be seen so you have to stick with it. Do this morning and night: Wash your face with a cleanser (like cerave/cetaphil). After you wash your face, apply a thin layer of Burt’s Bees Hand Salve to your lips. then on top of that, apply tacrolimus ointment your doctor must prescribe you. I was told this by an oral & maxillofacial pathologist doctor because no dermatologists could help me.

Chieltis runes my life to the point I'm constantly suicidal now. All started from having to wear a facemask around 4 years ago for 12 hrs a day in work. I now have severe damage of the tissue and corner of mouth. Constant saliva build up at corner, lips still in discomfort every single day. I've tried at least 5 different things my dermatologist suggested. None got rid of it. I'm going to do what this woman did in a video and just do nothing but change my diet and see if that helps. No more stuff to on my lips and no more using topical and taking meds. Plus, I"ll have much more money in my pocket rather than throwing it away and hoping.
@Brittany Kayla I have tried alternatives, granted, not every one, but I did change my diet too. I've been a vegetarian for years and ate a lot of nuts. I gave them up to see if that helps. As it stands, Aquaphor helps me the best. I see my dermatologist this Wed and pray he has something to offer again to try.
@@mighty444yt6 I tried it and my lips got so bad I could not stand it any longer. I didn't have much choice except to go back to my dermo. He gave me several things to try again and I started with the least amount of taking a chance by using another lip gel. Low and behold, that gel out of the many I tried did wonders. My lips will likely never be completely cured but with that gel I can at least keep it under control. So I do that gel on occasion to keep things in control and use vaseline on my lips on a regular basis. Just vaseline and at times that gel then putting vaseline over it. The gel is called Halog and it takes just a very, very small amount, just enough to cover the inflamed area with a thin layer of it.
Hey, what’s your skin care routine like? Also, does your toothpaste have fluoride in it? Try an anti- fluoride toothpaste. My mouth is so much less drier and irritated since I stopped using brands like Colgate.
@@nowmowcow5191 I tried a different toothpaste, shampoo, clothes wash, softener, etc, and saw no difference but the toothpaste still had fluoride, but I'll give the non-fluoride a chance. Thanks. FYI, I do have a water purifier that takes out fluoride that I use.

I have started to heal from exfoliative cheilitis by simply not picking, rubbing or licking my lips skin. I always apply plain lip balm and a mixture of oils (Coconut, almond, olive, mustard, vitamin E capsule) whenever they are getting dry and I controlled hard for not picking skin. I used to rub my lip skin unintentionally and it developed this skin condition which I was totally unaware of. Then I started to notice that my lips skin began to thicken, whitened when I was brushing or washing my face and my mom started to told me that my lips were becoming full of scars and it was turning white and light violate in colour. I was so afraid as it was getting worse day by day and I am suffering from this condition for the past 7 years. My mom is the ultimate saviour for me as she told me not to touch my lips and gave me the confidence that it will definitely heal if I refrain from skin picking. Taking care of my lips has helped me to get over this condition day by day and my lips are becoming plump, pinkish and the skin formation have delayed. I believe that in 4-5 months more I will heal completely or it could take one year, I do not know but I know this definitely that it will heal as I am seeing positive signs. So just don't pick your skin, always hydrate by applying lip balm, natural oils and stay positive. I also did not applied lipstick or any kind of tinted lip balm for the past 1.5 years. So, it will take time but it will heal ultimately, just have that belief. I was vey anxious at the beginning, but as it started to heal, I am very happy.

Stop licking it! That’s making your lips more dry and irritated. I’m guessing by your description your skin is more on the dry and sensitive side, so try to avoid using products that have alcohol or fragrance in them. Wash your face only with water in the morning and moisturize and in the night use a cleanser and moisturize. Your mouth is in a very delicate state right now. You don’t want to irritate your mouth because it Can leave hyperpigmentation. Look up contact dermatitis, usually those with lip conditions have contact dermatitis as well. Delicately wash your mouth with water to remove any dried saliva around the area, then use an anti-fungal cream, you can ask your doctor to prescribe you one or even use diaper rash cream. Let it dry, then slather your mouth in aquaphor to seal in moisture. As much as you want to, do not scratch your mouth. Also, this can be caused due to a vitamin deficancy or triggered by an unhealthy diet, maybe try vitamin B12 supplements or by eating more fruits and vegetables and drinking lots of water.

the ONLY thing that helped my exfoliative cheilitis was using tacrolimus ointment on my lips. it took 1 year for results to be seen so you have to stick with it.
Do this morning and night:
Wash your face with a cleanser (like cerave/cetaphil). After you wash your face, apply a thin layer of Burt’s Bees Hand Salve to your lips. then on top of that, apply tacrolimus ointment your doctor must prescribe you. I was told this by an oral & maxillofacial pathologist doctor because no dermatologists could help me.

I've tried at least 5 different things my dermatologist suggested. None got rid of it. I'm going to do what this woman did in a video and just do nothing but change my diet and see if that helps. No more stuff to on my lips and no more using topical and taking meds. Plus, I"ll have much more money in my pocket rather than throwing it away and hoping.
@Brittany Kayla I have tried alternatives, granted, not every one, but I did change my diet too. I've been a vegetarian for years and ate a lot of nuts. I gave them up to see if that helps.
As it stands, Aquaphor helps me the best. I see my dermatologist this Wed and pray he has something to offer again to try.

@@mighty444yt6 I tried it and my lips got so bad I could not stand it any longer. I didn't have much choice except to go back to my dermo. He gave me several things to try again and I started with the least amount of taking a chance by using another lip gel. Low and behold, that gel out of the many I tried did wonders. My lips will likely never be completely cured but with that gel I can at least keep it under control. So I do that gel on occasion to keep things in control and use vaseline on my lips on a regular basis. Just vaseline and at times that gel then putting vaseline over it. The gel is called Halog and it takes just a very, very small amount, just enough to cover the inflamed area with a thin layer of it.
Hey, what’s your skin care routine like? Also, does your toothpaste have fluoride in it? Try an anti- fluoride toothpaste. My mouth is so much less drier and irritated since I stopped using brands like Colgate.
@@nowmowcow5191 I tried a different toothpaste, shampoo, clothes wash, softener, etc, and saw no difference but the toothpaste still had fluoride, but I'll give the non-fluoride a chance. Thanks.
FYI, I do have a water purifier that takes out fluoride that I use.
