@@Katepweso lanolin is an occlusive moisturizer meaning it seals any moisture into the skin. So if you previously already did not have moisture, the lanolin is not going to help. I recommend using a humectant moisturizer which brings in moisture from the air to moisturize lips, like hylauronic acid, glycerin, honey (seen in a multitude of different products like aquaphor- just google examples of humectant lip balms) apply that humectant on DAMP SKIN, and then on top of the humectant put an occlusive moisturizer like Vaseline or lanolin!!
Lansinoh nipple lanolin. I buy small tubes and give away as a gift. Excellent and safe for kids little faces to prevent wind burns and prevent lip licking. I also use it as a skin barrier for small skin abrasions. Good for rashes in private parts. Love it.
A glycolic exfoliant + Vaseline is definitely the best hack. However, what I usually do is apply a bit of a 20% Urea moisturizer and then lock it in with Vaseline. My lips end up feeling just as smooth the next morning and I can do it much more often without worrying about any irritation the glycolic acid might cause. 😊😊😊
Would you mind sharing the name of the 20% urea product you use? have been trying to find a product with a higher % of urea, but the ones I got didn't work out well.
I put the Cicaplast Gel B5 from LaRochePosay on sore, chapped lips (and also under my sore nose after blowing it too much during a cold 🤧) It works magic! Great video - Thanks for sharing! ❤️
I live in Arizona where it's chronically dry and I use a few dabs of either Paula'a Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant or The Ordinary Lactic Acid +HA 5%, followed by Cerave Healing Ointment. These duos work well. Thank you SO much for the tips Dr. Idriss.
This came at the perfect time! I suffer from chronic B12 deficiency and my lips are currently dryer than the Sahara 😩 On the up side I had my latest B12 injection yesterday but unfortunately my poor lippies are the slowest to recover from a big dip so I’ll definitely be giving basting a whirl!!
i love to baste my lips with cerave’s healing ointment ! before bed i SLATHER my lips in the ointment & then when i wake up my lips are so plump & hydrated , and then i carry a tube of it in my bag so throughout the day i reapply a few times when needed to keep my lips soft & plush ✨
I moisturizer several times a day & I always spread it over my lips; I use cicaplast or panthenol (B5 5% + urea 5%), and then I lock my lips with pure lanolin. Thanks to your tips, I sometimes use the glycolic serum first if my lips are excessively dry.
She actually inspires me a lot coz everytime I see her videos and I feel like there is still hope ❣️ and I have been following her incredible tips for almost an year now and I can't praise enough how well my skin has been doing 🤞🤞 keep on going my invincible dermat💫💫
Lip licking definitely increases the dry and chapped lip factor because the salt from our saliva sucks out the water from our lips. One thing I have noticed is when I am not drinking enough water I get dry chapped lips even though I live in a relatively humid climate (PNW).
I’ve had quelitis on my entire lips for 3 years and I found that la Roche posay cicaplast baum first and uriage bariderm on top is the most hydrating and soothing for my stinging and burning lips 🤩
Having a bad spell of dry lips now and using this technique. So far, so good. BTW - ma chère docteure… I love the way you slipped and pronounced “lieu”. 😘
For bedtime I reach for Laneige lip mask or homeoplasmine. If I’m looking for a bit of sparkle or color City lips is awesome. Best I’ve found for real lasting hydration for hours and I’ve tried a bazillion lip glosses. I know you’re not a fan of HA but the city lips takes it to another level. Love your videos. ❤️
That laneige lip mask is just an ordinary lip gloss basically it’s definitely not a great “mask” i like the gummy bear one but there’s tons cheaper out there that do a much better job for hydration
I agree. That’s why I didn’t repurchase it. Please do tell which ones you think do a better job that are cheaper. I hate spending a lot of money on lip gloss.
My absolute go-to product for lips is NIVEA creme. The basic one in navy blue tin. I use a bit on my lips twice a day (after cleaning my teeth) and then a chapstick during the day if needed (usually with SPF). If I only use chapstick without the Nivea creme, then I get the "dry lips under a film of grease" feeling and chapped lips a few days later. Nivea has the similar application as Weleda: it applies white and then melts into transparent film. It has minimal fragrance and almost no taste (and no aftertaste, once it's melted, you cannot taste it). This is the only non-cruelty free cosmetic product that I still use and cannot find a replacement for. Once a month or so I use either scrub or enzymatic peeling (now I will try my Ordinary 7% glycolic acid toner!) and then apply a thick layer of honey to my lips (which usually means two layers - the first one gets eaten). Recently I also tried the Liptip by #Schein (which is a cruelty and fragrance free dupe for Clarins' Hydra-Essentiel Baume à lèvres réparateur) and I use it as a hydrating lip gloss. My sister swears by it as the main lip hydrator, though.
i read your comment and went out to buy the nivea tin since it was an inexpensive option and my lips have been loving it. thanks for the recommendation!
I started using SkinFix barrier cream on my lips at night and it did so much more for me than wax based lip specific products. Love to have this validated by a favorite derm!
I feel so validated! 😄 Each night I use The Ordinary Lactic Acid serum on my lips and then slather them in pure lanolin (I get a tub of NOW brand from Amazon) and this is the only system I have found to nourish my exceptionally dry lips. Straight lanolin has been a game changer for me for several years, although I just may get a small tube of Weleda and give it a go just for fun. If you’re super sensitive to odd natural scents you may find pure lanolin off-putting. I don’t really mind it though. I’m more bothered by artificial florally scents so I skip scented products usually. Anyways, thanks Doc for this great video! ❤️
@@xtraceyy I use the 10% but I would describe myself as a “seasoned chemical exfoliation enthusiast.” 😆 If I were brand new I’d definitely start lower and work up. Although the Ordinary is so affordable buying both isn’t unreasonable. That way you can bump up to 10% maybe once a week and see how it goes. I use the 5% on my neck as it’s always been a *very* sensitive area for me in comparison to my face. Lactic is great just about everywhere though!
I have my own version of this technique! I use 'boroline' which is an indian lanolin product on my lips and then after a while apply a thin layer of vaseline! I do the same for my heels and my heels feel very soft now . Boroline is an antiseptic ayurvedic cream sold in India. It has boric acid, zinc oxide, lanolin . Works really well for almost a lot of things!
I live in France, so I get access easily in pharmacy to lots of brands!! I literally use bepanthen every day/night as a lip balm, and it is the best thing ever!!! 🙏🏽
@Kathleen I will be visiting France in August. Can you pleaseee recommend me some good pharmacy products that I can buy there? I would love to stock up. Thanksss so much!
The Bepanthen cream has been my lip hack for so many years. I had cracked lips for a longest time and this was the only thing that healed them. Now whenever they crack I put it and they heal within one or two days. I have used the skin food as well. Both of those are German companies and and as I am from Germany, I found it funny you recommended them as well. Here in Germany Weleda also has a fragrance free line with almond and a fragrance free line for babies. Not sure if they sell abroad but they are very good as well :). Maybe worth the try if you like skin food but not so many essential oils.
Hi Dr Shereen I know this is an old video but I love it. I have the dryest lips ever I live in a very dry climate, South Africa, Pretoria 🇿🇦 My lips flake and crack and I chew the dry flakes and they also burst and form scabs. 😅 I use an ointment on my lips called Zambuck a South African product it has Camphor in it and smells very herbal it is one of those products that just work on any wound and even pimples. But it is not enough always. I have to reapply a thousand times a day. Sometimes, I layer it, so I put on a layer of Zambuck and a layer of Vaseline lip therapy . The Zambuck does work great because my lips are like an open wound I put on before bed and when I wake up my lips are almost completely healed.
My lips are only dry when I haven’t had enough water during the day. Water transforms them within hours like no product can. I perceive chapped lips as my water intake indicator🙌
OMG. You saved my chop lips! I have been using Vaseline on my lip, but it doesn't seems to help much. Going to order lanolin nipple cream to try. I just use 12% Glycolic Acid lotion and top of a heavy moisturizer after I saw this video. I don't have Wellea skin food. So I use Avene XARA AD instead. Still working out good. I'm putting another layer of LPR B5 Blam now. My lips have been dark and chop for months! Now, it's pink and soft!
I use Weleda's Skin Revitalizing Eye and Lip cream (awful packaging, but amazing product). It instantly heals/repairs/moisturizes my lips; more so, than the Skin Food. I put a lanolin product over top to lock it in... Anyone who is "going through the change", can appreciate the glee we experience when we finally find 'hacks' to deal with changes our bodies experience with ebbing estrogen levels, (sigh). I'm super excited to try adding the chemical exfoliant!! I haven't been this excited about skincare in years!
For people like me that suffer with dry chapped lips year round I have to tell you that I finally found something that works for me! I’ve been using castor oil on my lips couple times a day, just a drop, and also supplementing that with a lip balm by Torriden (K-beauty) that I wear almost all the time. I’ve only been doing this for a few days and it worked that fast😊 At night I use both and my lips are markedly improved in the morning. For the first time in 58 years, I don’t have dry chapped lips! They are soft and smooth! Something I’m realizing I’ve never experienced before😂 I’ve tried so many different things over the years and nothing has worked. FYI: The castor oil that I use is by Queen of Thrones and is very light in color with minimal odor. I am not a lip licker, so I can’t attest to whether it has a taste. I don’t notice any. I hope this helps somebody.
Literally just used the L’Oréal glycolic acid + Weleda Cream combo last night, saved my lips thanks dr 😘 I also used the warp film to cover my lips overnight, next morning plumped and juicy 👄
Sat here basting in Weleda Skin Food right now, my best weapon against chapped lips thanks to Dr Idriss (although I skip the exfoliant part since I haven't had chapped lips since using WSF, basically keeping on top of hydration prevents getting to that desperate point, for me). In the evening before bed I put CeraVe Healing Ointment/Vaseline over the top of WSF and in morning I am still hydrated (for ref I live in subtropical country and have two fans aimed at me through the night and sometimes AC). I have also trained myself NOT to lick my lips, it is a habit that can be unlearned :)
I already do this!😄 there's the CC retexturizing activator for sensitive skin, there is a lip AHA exfoliant with vitamin c by cosrx. For a thick emollient, I really like glossier's new ultra thick moisturizer. It's kind of in-between an ointment and a moisturizer. It has no scent and it uses alternatives to petroleum while giving the same benefits which I think is neat (I have no problem with petroleum btw). I also just buy a huge jar of pure lanolin and use it on my lips. I want to learn about Urea!!!!!
Oh my goodness I love Urea, can't live without it. 30-40% cream for the feet (makes your nails look good, smooths out calluses. Pro tip:make sure your feet are slightly damp and then put socks on afterwards). 10-20% for body especially if you have KP and don't like Amlactin or Cerave SA. 5% for face. Recommended products: Instituto Español 20% Urea cream, 10% urea cream and 10% Urea body wash Sebamed has a urea line with 5% face cream, 10% lotion, 10% shampoo. Hada Labo has a urea face cream but it's expensive, meh. So does Malezia. Too expensive for me and not really advisable if you don't have pityrosporum folliculitis. LRP Isourea is 30% urea Eucerin has a 5% Urea face cream (riche and regular, check what you're getting) 10% urea foot cream, and 30% spot treatment. Eucerin Rough and bumpy is around 10% urea if you can't find the others. Eucerin intensive repair hand cream and Rough and Bumpy have urea and lactic acid. Zeroid Richenic Urea 5% face cream (Korean brand) I think Amazon has a 40% urea cream, I just buy a generic version which is cheaper to buy where I live. Keep cool bamboo toner has urea in it (less than 5%). Hydroxyethyl urea is the same as good old urea. Well there you go I hope you find a urea product you like! You're welcome.
I’ve always used whatever products I’m using on my face on my lips as well, and have never had issues with dry or flaky lips! I use chemical exfoliants on my face a couple of times a week, along with plenty of nice emollient creams, so without doing so intentionally I’ve been doing this for years 😊
I love this concept. I like to use an acidic toner, followed by a lip mask, and top with a waxy balm. I prefer to do this at night. In the morning I use a lip mask, tinted lip balm, and gloss. I switch up the brands of the products but the combination works the same so I'm currently just cycling through whatever I have on hand as a recovering product junkie.
The first time I saw you do this I run to try my own version with what I had at home. I use Pixi Glow tonic with Elisabeth Arden 8h balm, Aquaphor for lips or Laneige lip mask, I also tried it with Cicaplast B5 baume and it works nicely as well :) Thank you, doc!
Definitely trying this tonight!! I’ve been binging your videos over the past couple weeks, and my skin can’t thank you enough! Would love to learn more about telling the difference between eczema vs. seborrheic dermatitis vs. dry skin. Been to derms so many times for these, and they give me a bunch of RXs but never explain what’s going on. Didn’t even know SD was caused by fungus until one of your videos. 🤯
Rebekah, I found Dr. Idriss from my life partner's sister in last autumn and I did a lot of binging too!! She used to have more videos. I don't know why she's got rid of a bunch. I was never into skin care products. Now I tell my best friend what I've learned like about humectants and all kinds of stuff and she said I should be a dermatologist. 😂 I could never go to school for that long but I absolutely Loved learning from Dr. Idriss!! 😁♥️
My poor son was on a strong dose of accutane 4 years ago and is addicted to chapsticks because he just can’t soothe the dryness. I will have him try this for sure!
Bepanthen's moisturizng cream (not the nappy ointment) is really soothing on the lips and around the eyes too just saying. Semi gel like consistency. Lovely product.
You are my hero ❤ It doesn’t matter the time of year, I’ve always had embarrassingly dry, cracked, chapped lips. I stumbled upon pure lanolin and few years back and it has definitely helped keep my lips from cracking, but I’ve never been able to maintain smooth, hydrated lips. Lips scrubs would help for a day, but the next day my lips would be dry and flaky again. The L’Oreal revitalift serum with glycolic acid 10% got rid of the dry flaky layers that always form on my lips. I use my own lip moisturizer and then top it with lanolin after, and the results have been incredible, in just a week’s time. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I am a skin care beginner and I’ve loved your videos, so I’d also love to see a video on application techniques. Where do you apply each different kind of product? Do you apply everything to lips and neck too? What about eyelids? Do you pat products on or massage? Washcloth, reusable pad, cotton ball or fingertips? Thanks again!
thank you.. this changed my lips forever.. i always have chapped lips all the time regardless of the weather.. the glycolic acid and biafene works well for me at night..
This hack really does work!! I personally do not use glycolic acid in my routine because I’m very sensitive so I opt for mandelic acid and seal the deal with petroleum jelly. Not exactly the same but I can definitely see the difference from these alternatives as well! Thanks, Dr. Idriss! 😘
I use Aquaphor on my lips in the morning and before go to bed in the winter and in the summer a lip balm with FPS in the morning and Cocoa Butter at night. Cocoa butter works in every kind of weather but I just like the texture of Aquaphor.
I've been using the Klavuu Lip Sleeping Pack, a K-beauty lip treatment. I take medication that causes dry lips, and since using this, I haven't had any flaky lip issues!!!❤
I was so excited to try lip basting. I bought the Loreal glycolic 10% and Weleda cream. I did this over night and my lips felt dry and peely and rough. SO I decided to try my Mad Hippie AHA peel which has glycolic acid among other beautiful ingredients. Followed this up with my smear of Weleda. And next morning, my lips were DIVINE. So Mad Hippie AHA over Loreal Glycolic all the way!! :)
Aaa you literally read my mind! I was searching for your past lip basting video which i couldnt find. But now here you are with a new one! So grateful for this
I love Estée Lauder 8 hour skin protector for my lips, works really well . And the Bioderma Atoderm stick lèvres is fantastic and always in my bag, my seven years old daughter also has one in her school bag 😁😁👍👍
Love this - mwah! For future topic: would love to see a video on seborrheic keratosis and any tips you have for addressing it - whether at home or at the derms!
I have been basting my lips before bed since my teens- I could not live without the blue Nivea jar next to my bed! But now Weleda is my firm favourite and I am running up to my bathroom to try it with glycolic ;)
Ok so I have had horribly dry lips my whole life, and I LIVE IN A PLACE WITH 100% HUMIDITY. Regular lip balms are not enough for me, and I am sensitive to a lot of ingredients (which lead to eczema that manifests in millions of tiny blisters), so I cannot try a lot of things. What’s worked for me is this. First I apply the Eucerin SPF15 Lip Active - best lip balm out there. Only thing that is hydrating enough and that doesn’t eventually cause a reaction (I react to Aquaphor, QV etc) Then I apply a thick coat of Vaseline over the lip balm. Then I apply the cerave Healing ointment over it as an additional barrier. Smooth lips without any sensitivity!
@@Jespidi just saw this! Depends on the blisters - is it due to an eczema reaction? If yes I put whatever ointment I get from the derm first (I can’t just wait it out…. Unbearable pain). Once it starts peeling/flaking without new blisters, then I go back to my same routine. It just works. Hope it helps!
Please do a video on gua sha. In particular, the direction to move the stone in, because all of the person's demonstrating the technique stroke up on the neck. But if you watch a lymphatic specialist, they explain to stroke down on the neck to assist lymph drainage. Also, since you're obviously knowledgeable about facial muscles and fascia as well as their relationship to the skin, what would be the most beneficial way to stroke the stone across the face and jawline? And what about the kind of oil to use? I've been working with 100% pure organic Cliganic Rosehip Oil, which my skin loves, however, the slip isn't slippery enough and the stone drags. What would be an equally beneficial oil that has more slip? Do the claims that gua sha affects collagen production and is able to create a more defined jawline - among numerous other claims - have any merit? Also please discuss the jade or rose quartz rollers, unless that might better be left for another video.
I feel you, girl! I used to use Burt's Bees lip balm and lip oil every day and while it does work for a bit, it doesn't stay that way for long lol. For me, I have found that hydrating my lips while washing my face and using HA helps keep my lips and face moisturized. I also like to finish off (in my night routine) with Vaseline on my lips because it really does help to heal and lock in that moisture in my lips. I also like using Vaseline under my eyes
I have been lip basting with 360 USP Pure Glycerin at night which has such a sweet taste and let’s me know right away if I am licking my lips or eating away the treatment. Then by day, Eucerin baby eczema relief body cream on lips. Is very thick consistency and disappears fast into clear yummy lips. Disappears much faster than weleda does without the glossy sheen.
Love the weleda! I think its a very rich cream and am not sure what else to use it for because it is so thick but it's perfect for lips! I have the laniege overnight lip mask and it just doesn't work as well as the weleda , also much more cost effective 😊
My favorite remedy for dry lips is using Polysporin Lip Therapy..seriously, you guys should try it (unless you have an allergy to lanolin which is an ingredient). So good !
I apologize I couldn't wait to buy through your link and had to run to CVS and Walgreens. I'm from AR and just started working in MN and my lips are dying! I had to get the Loreal 10% at CVS and the Weleda at Walgreens. Ran back to my hotel and put your channel back on so I could make sure I applied correctly! Ha!
10:53 I never tried it but, Wishtrend Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water might be a good option, it contains Mandelic acid which is a gentle exfoliant, it’s high in panthenol which is good for soothing irritated skin, and Licorice Root to both calm and brighten discolouration, but keep in mind that liquorice root is discouraged for pregnant women
From Weleda, the stick everon is waxy but quite emollient too ! It is the one and only I use on my flaky lips for years now and I only need to apply it twice a day.
I use it too, Everon is the nest lip balm ever for me, been using it since the early 2000s. before that, i used to have peeling, dry lips every few weeks. But that never happened with Everon.
Whatever glycolic goes on my face also goes on lips. And generally, I treat my lips to whatever skincare I use, aside from retinol or salicylic acid. I always sleep with Lanolips or some sort of lanolin on, to prevent water loss during night. I have also discovered that chapsticks or lip balms don't do much for me, I would much rather use a classic lipstick (most have waxes but also vitamin E) which seem to seal in moisture. I had dry, flaky, painful, windburnt lips for years, which pushed me to find these hacks, so nowadays, eye cream and a lipstick during the day (or lanolin at night) do far more good than all lip masks or treatments marketed as such.
I do similar but I use a 10% glycolic acid pad by Eclát to distribute the acid to my lips. I then put on a nourishing humectant lip balm with hyaluronic acid - which helps absorb the moisture. (Wet & Wild and e.l.f. both make balms with hyaluronic acid, reasonably priced). Then I top it with the emollient like vaseline, carmex, or aquaphor lip balm. I have seen other people doing this "lip slugging" with the Weleda Skin Food, and you now, so I will be getting that!
I have been basting with Weleda since I first saw Dr. Idriss do it. It's true it didn't taste good, not that I eat it, lol. I haven't done the L'Oreal Glycolic acid because I have an auto immune disorder and am prone to cold sore (ugh). The beating had helped my lips tremendously but I would like to try Biafene to see if the taste is better 😁.
I suffer with very dry lips to the point they bleed and when my mom was in Istanbul she went to a dermatologist and they gave her Bepanthen and I have been using it and it has helped with my dry lips a lot and I totally recommend it for people who very dry lips to the point they bleed.
Thanks for the chemical exfoliation and the nip cream tips, I don't think my lips were so smoothe even when I *was* a fetus! My lips have always been easy to dry out, and most lip balms just make them worse - except for the Neutrogena ones which are OK, but nowhere close to what I have been experiencing since I got my hands on the lanolin goods.
I usually use a lip scrub but I’m definitely going to try the ordinary glycolic acid toner on my lips tonight I usually do HA after the scrub then Vaseline to seal it in But I’m going to target to get weleda tonight and trying the GA followed by HA and then weleda.. I’m excited I love moisturized plump natural lips it looks so nice!! I’m loving the triple paste face basting it leaves my skin so beautifully soft and my neck as well I just introduce my 69 year old mother to it and can’t wait to see her results once using it I got her started on retinol about 6 months ago and there’s a huge diffeeence in her skin and complexion I’m loving it for her and she loves it and the way she looks ❤❤ Thank you for all your tips.. I can see a major difference in my skin more so than just seeing my dermatologist now that I have you on my side as well Can’t wait for my derm to see my skin in August! ❤
Ohh, talking about products that dry your lips. I have recently been looking for a good lip balm with SPF. Found one from Sunsense , that looked pretty good. But oh, god, it super dries my lips and I don't know why! On the other hand, then one from Ultra Violet is awesome! Any recommendations on lip balms with SPF? Also, how do you do to protect your lips from sunlight when using tinted sunscreen on your face? It's not like you can use it on your lips as well... Hehe.
I think we need a 'What's in my bag" video, right?
Yohooo

Hi Dr. Shereen can you lip plumping glosses and if they're good or harmful to your lips?

I have been using Lanolin nipple cream on my lips and cuticles for years. It’s inexpensive and super healing. Thank you Dr. Idriss!
I find it drying.
I discovered this while nursing too and it also works amazing on sore noses during colds.
I use the one from ISDIN (Ureadin 20) That’s the only one available here in Brazil. But I know Cetaphil also has one!
@@gustavgodoybrazil Thank you!

Vaseline is terrible for your lips/body

That laneige lip mask is just an ordinary lip gloss basically it’s definitely not a great “mask” i like the gummy bear one but there’s tons cheaper out there that do a much better job for hydration
I agree. That’s why I didn’t repurchase it. Please do tell which ones you think do a better job that are cheaper. I hate spending a lot of money on lip gloss.
Hey Dr. Shereene, I hope you can make a video on deodorants vs antiperspirants and how to control body odor and sweat during the summer, thx!
Peach and Lily lactic is so hydrating and gentle. I’ve been putting all my skincare on my lips before I knew “lip basting” was a thing lol
I use this too on my lips! I thought I was the only one. It works SO well. My lips love it.
i read your comment and went out to buy the nivea tin since it was an inexpensive option and my lips have been loving it. thanks for the recommendation!
@@ac444 Glad to help!
I started using SkinFix barrier cream on my lips at night and it did so much more for me than wax based lip specific products. Love to have this validated by a favorite derm!
Loving the pink glittery eyeshadow ✨
I have just been looking how to hydrate my lips. Thank you! Learned how to treat my skin after your videos💜
do you use the 5% or 10% lactic acid from The Ordinary?
@@xtraceyy I use the 10% but I would describe myself as a “seasoned chemical exfoliation enthusiast.” 😆 If I were brand new I’d definitely start lower and work up. Although the Ordinary is so affordable buying both isn’t unreasonable. That way you can bump up to 10% maybe once a week and see how it goes. I use the 5% on my neck as it’s always been a *very* sensitive area for me in comparison to my face. Lactic is great just about everywhere though!
I’m loving the Mad About Skin Lip Conditioner! I use it before going to bed & my lips are so smooth & hydrated in the morning! 👌🏼💋
@@elcieloylasestrellas2367 She made a video on that: th-cam.com/video/AjPQI6xJoko/w-d-xo.html
I tried Weleda skinfood light and it works wonders as a lip balm!! I can only imagine how moisturizing the original one is!!
The original is sooo much better!
I have used Mentholatum on my lips for years. The smell is strong but I have grown to love it. It is also soothing when I do have chapped lips.
I’ve used Sunday Riley lactic acid as a chemical exfoliant on my lips and I love it!
Your skin looks phenomenal
i only do vaseline and it doesnt work at all for me, so happy for this video!
Love to know what makeup you are doing especially the eyeshadow 🦋
I could listen to you talking about skin and skincare for days Dr Idriss! You're looking stunning as always too! 😍🙌🏻💞
I had dry lips for decades, until... Lavera Sensitive Lip Balm.
So amazing. ❤
During very cold periods I add Weleda Skin Food as well.
I use either the glycolic or lactic acid from the ordinary and coat it with the original nivea cream, it’s very thick and works well
The greatest part of this video is that I already have 2 of the products mentioned yaaay 😊🎉
Literally just used the L’Oréal glycolic acid + Weleda Cream combo last night, saved my lips thanks dr 😘 I also used the warp film to cover my lips overnight, next morning plumped and juicy 👄
@Meenakshi I think they mean cling wrap/saran wrap
You smile soothes my Saturdays!
Recommended products:
Instituto Español 20% Urea cream, 10% urea cream and 10% Urea body wash
Sebamed has a urea line with 5% face cream, 10% lotion, 10% shampoo.
Hada Labo has a urea face cream but it's expensive, meh. So does Malezia. Too expensive for me and not really advisable if you don't have pityrosporum folliculitis.
LRP Isourea is 30% urea
Eucerin has a 5% Urea face cream (riche and regular, check what you're getting) 10% urea foot cream, and 30% spot treatment. Eucerin Rough and bumpy is around 10% urea if you can't find the others. Eucerin intensive repair hand cream and Rough and Bumpy have urea and lactic acid.
Zeroid Richenic Urea 5% face cream (Korean brand)
I think Amazon has a 40% urea cream, I just buy a generic version which is cheaper to buy where I live.
Keep cool bamboo toner has urea in it (less than 5%).
Hydroxyethyl urea is the same as good old urea.
Well there you go I hope you find a urea product you like!
You're welcome.
I adore urea! I use 10-12% on my face! My skin loves it too! I use Urederm 10% and Dermal Therapy 12%
@@behemothsbaby Is that Hamilton Urederm 10%? Yes, great option if you are living in Oz
@@dannamadura3751 , it is Hamilton Urederm 10%! My skin loves it!!
I’ve always used whatever products I’m using on my face on my lips as well, and have never had issues with dry or flaky lips! I use chemical exfoliants on my face a couple of times a week, along with plenty of nice emollient creams, so without doing so intentionally I’ve been doing this for years 😊
I do pretty much the same thing except I use Vaseline at the end
Here in Sweden, I use Bephanten for my and my daughters lips, face, whatever 👏 so good.
This is perfect, because I’ll be honest my nips have been so crazy itchy lol!! Saving this video now for future reference
Nips???????
@@tehreemazmat2929 think she meant lips 😂
TMI, sister 🤣 Sorry, I revert back to twelve years old too easily. 😆
@@bambina3148 yeah I meant lips but my mind was thinking nips cause of thumbnails 😂. However, gonna keep it as is, since it’s funny
@@ElegantAries it did make me laugh! 😂
Bepanthen's moisturizng cream (not the nappy ointment) is really soothing on the lips and around the eyes too just saying. Semi gel like consistency. Lovely product.
Are they two different products?
I have chronic dry lips... But I swear by Bepanthen 😅☺️... It's the best for me so far
Would love to see a video of skin routine specifically for people of color like do's and don't products
thank you.. this changed my lips forever.. i always have chapped lips all the time regardless of the weather.. the glycolic acid and biafene works well for me at night..
Thanks for the hack! I find that The Ordinary Amino Acids+B5 serum softens lips amazingly
Basted for the first time last night and my lips feel amazing!
Aaa you literally read my mind! I was searching for your past lip basting video which i couldnt find. But now here you are with a new one! So grateful for this
This was such an awesome tutorial and brand new information for me. Thank you so much for the lip basting advice and recommendations!
I'm so happy you said lanolin! I use it constantly for scrapes and cuts and dry skin, especially my lips!
Only thing that is hydrating enough and that doesn’t eventually cause a reaction (I react to Aquaphor, QV etc)
Then I apply a thick coat of Vaseline over the lip balm. Then I apply the cerave Healing ointment over it as an additional barrier. Smooth lips without any sensitivity!
OMG! This sounds like something I can do. May I ask if you do this even when there is blisters? My lips are suffering now...Thank you in advance!
I second this - the Eucerin lip balm is understated perfection. It just works. Thanks for sharing!
I love Weleda skinfood for my dry hands!
I like Paula’s choice lip balm it last forever and if you put it on at night my lips are smooth as ever
My favorite remedy for dry lips is using Polysporin Lip Therapy..seriously, you guys should try it (unless you have an allergy to lanolin which is an ingredient). So good !
i’ve been using Laneige lip sleeping mask for years now and it really works on my dry lips!
Ha!
Your makeup looks beautiful! It suits you so well 🥰
10:53 I never tried it but, Wishtrend Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water might be a good option, it contains Mandelic acid which is a gentle exfoliant, it’s high in panthenol which is good for soothing irritated skin, and Licorice Root to both calm and brighten discolouration, but keep in mind that liquorice root is discouraged for pregnant women
I’ve just done this tonight. Followed by avene cicalfate lip cream
I use The Ordinary peeling on my lips once in ten days, also use Aven cicalfate cream every day and night
Oh wow, I completely forgot about Everon. I don’t know why I fell off from using it, but I do remember it’s best.
I purchased the Waleda skin food and Omgoodness I love love it.
Your beauty is stunning!! And your videos are stellar 💫
I usually use a lip scrub but I’m definitely going to try the ordinary glycolic acid toner on my lips tonight I usually do HA after the scrub then Vaseline to seal it in
But I’m going to target to get weleda tonight and trying the GA followed by HA and then weleda.. I’m excited I love moisturized plump natural lips it looks so nice!!
I’m loving the triple paste face basting it leaves my skin so beautifully soft and my neck as well
I just introduce my 69 year old mother to it and can’t wait to see her results once using it
I got her started on retinol about 6 months ago and there’s a huge diffeeence in her skin and complexion I’m loving it for her and she loves it and the way she looks ❤❤
Thank you for all your tips.. I can see a major difference in my skin more so than just seeing my dermatologist now that I have you on my side as well
Can’t wait for my derm to see my skin in August! ❤
Did you add filler to your top lip? Looks good whether you did or not 😚
Ohh, talking about products that dry your lips. Hehe.
Cicaplast Baume (you can use the regular version too, not just Levres!),Homeoplasmine, and Aquaphor are my HGs!
Merci Shereene pour le partage. C'est Top 👌🏻
wow the yellow nails look so fresh and nice! Who would of thought?
