When I was in the neurology ICU, they pumped me with aspirin, morphine, prednisone, and anti viral medicine. To be honest, I just got severe heartburn, nausea, and fatigue. The issue was this nagging pain, right behind the ear to clavicle. I still dislike my mirror image with this onset. I use ice packs on the affected side, I don't use my fingers as oils tend to lose their resistance. I use a pencil eraser to position the region of interest of my face. The cold ice tightens the muscles, and so my applying point source reposition, I find this more effective.

Thank you for offering this advice. The Chapters to the right side of this screen are very helpful for what to avoid. However, I'm not clear on what you are saying to definitely DO. For example - I guess "patching" means don't tape your face in any direction during the day, but Do tape your eyelid shut at night? Thank you in advance for clarification!

I noticed that after brushing my teeth, I tried to rinse and retain water to clear out the toothpaste. One side of my mouth just spat out water uncontrollably, I then tried to tell my wife about this, and my speech became slurred. I knew that things were going downhill fast and was at the ER in 1 hour. They confirmed that an ischemic stroke and used TPa for dissolving a clot. I kept saying that I had pain behind my ear all this time. The diagnosis was Bell's palsy after no CT contrast showed a clot. What the doctors did see right when I was admitted was right eye drift and speech slurred with my word's contiguous. This experience was unsettling for me, and the word stroke only increased my anxiety. I am now in rehabilitation for BP. TPa I accepted to be injected, l was in their hands in that moment. The good thing is there were no abnormalities via MRI/CT.

The first episode was at age of 14 on the left side with a full recovery after 1 month of cortisone, after 7 years I had another episode on the left side and after 1 month with cortisone 99% recovered. Now at 28 and 7 years apart I have another Bell's palsy episode on the right side, this time it is less sever than the others two, now I can close my eye, lift my eyebrows and smile, but I can't keep the water or the air inside my mouth and when I purse my lips they go to the left side.
Should I be worried about that? This is happening only in the summer time and after 7 years which is a bit strange.
