Great video my guy, I wish you well in all your endeavors I am sure that with your pride you have in your craft Will bring you great things. Your video hit it home for me...
I left my job at a Big pest control company after 16 years and started my own business. I spend an average of one hour per customer. This cuts down on call backs helps the customer and me as well.
How did you do this? obviously takes some savings.. Im in a similar position at a big company right now. I like helping people but hate being micromanaged and hate being pushed to stretch the truth with customers. What were your biggest challenges? Ive been in pest control for about a year at this point and one of my concerns is not being experienced enough. Im mainly worried that if I dont have an answer for someone I will have nowhere to turn. At what point did you feel confident doing it on your own? Did you have outside help or where you able to afford it on your own? Do you think anyone could do this with time and effort? What was the most difficult thing getting started? sorry if any of this sounds ignorant, honestly just want to know. Thanks for reading this.
If I were you I'd get more experience under my belt before making the jump. I used my own money to start up, the hardest thing was building a base so my advice to you is soak up as much knowledge as possible and start an LLC now so once you're ready to make the jump the LLC will be aged. Hope this helps good luck!
Worked for a big company myself and couldn't stand the micromanagement at every turn. I now work for a small company but want to eventually go out on my own. I have just shy of 12 years under my belt and I feel it is time. Best of luck to you. It doesn't cost as much as some think. It is actually one of the cheaper start ups.
@user-lc4im5wh8v thank you and best of luck to you on your next move. At 12 years you pretty much know it all if you've been serious about it. Knock em dead!
Damn I just got into pest control and what drew me to the job was riding solo and no micromanaging. Problem solving, customer, pride in your work. I don’t find too many people with our personality type so it’s cool to hear your input. Great video and thanks for sharing. I’ll be hitting that subscribe button!
Do you have to crawl in small places a lot, or go on roofs? Just curious about the actual worst part about the physical labor. The company I'm applying for mentioned physically removing pests or something, and my mind instantly jumped to having to wrestle with a freaking possum or something haha.
Lol yes I do go on roofs and in attics for rodents. Crawl spaces not so much. If there's enough room I'll go under but typically I get someone else for crawlspace. It definitely crosses the mind when being in these areas. I just try to get it done without too much thinking. Thanks you for watching!
@@mikecostin2055 that should be a kool place to work. I had a coworker yrs ago that started a business there. Not sure if he's still there, but he was very excited
It probably has happened to some. You have to wear your protective gear to lower the possibility of things like that happening. Most products are being made to be safer than what was used in the past.

Big companies want to only spend no more than 15 minutes as a pest stop .just can't be done and give proper service
Very true. A good job takes more than a few minutes.

Thanks for the insight! I’ll be doing a ride along tomorrow to see if I will like the job. Entry level termites. I hope it goes well.
Good luck!

Thank you for your feedback!
Im thinking of applying for entry level pest control. Would love to help people and be outside!
Give it a go! What part of the country are you in? Hopefully somewhere with nice weather.
@@beardedbugman1228 I'm trying to move to Lincoln Nebraska. I have family there and have been there many times and love it.

FedEx is bad about micromanaging. They have gps and cameras. Get mad at you if you brake harder then they want, accelerate too much, just alot of bs
I worked for some pest control companies that did the micro.anave and gps and I now work for myself .it is the only way to do it
Agreed
Hey so what do pest control do in the winter?
Hibernate
We then trap rats 🐀
Sometimes they hibernate. A little different in Texas
Don’t you have to be clean shaven to do pest control?
Nooooo; can’t get bit on the job lol
What about the health effects of the chemical ? Is it true the chemical causes cancer ?????

Now with being dangled around everywhere by the raging creature should bring to my attention of porting a revolver next time I'd go.
Dude r u hung over? Like wtf?!!
Lol no. Just had been a long few days from moving
