Thank you I definitely learned a lot from this video. Testing in Tennessee 😊 (I know state regulations are different but the overall general lecture is helpful. Ty!
I am getting conflicting information. I have been told that I need to take the core (100 questions) and the Ornamental and Turf (50 questions) class/exams. You just stated that the private is for farmers and a couple others then stated that your father has his commercial certification because of your landscaping business. I am sorry but money does not come easy and for me to take the wrong test and get in trouble because I listened to those that work for NCDA&CS and took the test they told me too is going to be upsetting. You seem to have great knowledge and have been a big help. I want to ask you. I own a Lawncare and maintenance business. I just started it this summer. I want to be able to apply fertilizer and have been told that I need a license to do so. What classes/exams must I take to get this so that I don't get in trouble and have to pay the $1,000 fine if caught by the state? Thank you for any help you can give.
John if you are in the lawn care business you need to take the core exam and the ornamental and turf exams. The category is L & E for this. L = Ornamental & Turf and E = Core. My dad does have both because he is a strawberry farmer and landscape contractor doing lawn care applications. Check this link out for more information: www.ncagr.gov/SPCAP/pesticides/license.htm
Great to the point teaching. Where did you get your landscape architecture degree? What's a good resource to find out who offers that same degree? Thanks!
DarkNights StreetLights I git the degree at NC A&T State in Greensboro, NC. Check with ASLA, the American Society of Landscape Architects website for schools. www.asla.org
@@turfteacher Good morning im getting mixed answers on this, I work for JAARS in Waxhaw NC, we are a non-profit organization. I'm the grounds manager im being told that I do need the commercial license and also being told since we are non-profit and I'll be applying pesticides on only our property such as herbicides, ant killer, I don't need a license. Can you provide me the correct answer to this.
is there going to be a lot of tests questions on chapter 1? it really just sounded like they were drilling me with the cost of things and how often I have to recert......is when the certification is up an d all that a test question?
I now see why so many are doing these things illegally. All this confusion as to what to take, when to get CEU's, what tests to take and money, money, money. It is all making sense now.
This guy was only wrong about one thing. Okay well partially wrong. Schools are exempt from having to hire professionals to do the treatment commercially. This exact question will be on your test I promise you.

I thought you could just take the test without schooling ? I’ve been studying, and I’d love to have this a second side business
You can without the school.

It's a $75 dollar annual license fee and you need 10 CEU's within a five year period.

Hi sar
The test is really hard and the questions are obscure. You don’t get told what questions you got wrong and they try to trick you. What a bunch of shit
@@mikegrowgreens9125 I wish there was more math on the exam. Too many applicators applying pesticides with not knowing the math behind it.
@@turfteacher thats because the math is easy and its harder to trick you with questions.

They still have to have the certification just not pay the licensing fee.
