@@mikef7698 I would say that you can expect to work long hours. Weather can be a problem, it is no fun when it is 100 degrees outside or when it is raining all day. You will deal with some of the dirtiest, nastiest people imaginable, homes that stink so bad you have to fight off a gag reflex. Crawling around in tight crawl spaces and coming face to face with a venomous snake is never fun. Tracking down dead animals in buildings by using your sense of smell is never fun. I had a dead racoon that was so decomposed that my clothes smelled like dead animal. I had to ride around all day with the windows down which helped but I still smelled like dead animal all day. Customer expectations, most people expect you to wave a magic wand and make the problem go away and it is not always so easy so customers can be very difficult at times. Those are some of the toughest aspects of the job so I want to balance that out with some of the positives of the job. Working long hours means overtime and my company did not care how much overtime we got, if you were willing to put the work in they would let you work as much as you want so I made A LOT OF MONEY. You get a high degree of independence, I got a company vehicle which I took home. I had a company gas card, company computer, printer, cell phone. All my stops for the day would be pushed to my phone so I never went to the office and I almost never saw my supervisor. I worked hard and was one of, if not the most knowledgeable and best performing techs in the company so they literally left me alone and let me do my thing. I only went to the office to refill on supply's and for mandatory training. I loved being out and about all day. It sure beat the heck out of being in an office all day. The time really goes fast, and even though I visited most stops once a month they were never the same. When they had a pest problem it was fun diagnosing the problem and how to solve it.
Great video Viking Pest Control I love Eric's energy his walk exspression positivity this man loves what he does very inspiring from a fellow Pesty in Queensland Australia who also loves helping people.
😂😂 this is funny! Just be yourself doing this job. And be honest with your customers..treat every home like it’s yours when treating. Follow the rules and don’t cut corners and you’ll be a ok!
