Things which make carbs into bodyfat:
      1) polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats,
      2) flax seed,
      3) undereating, diets
      4) high fat diet in long term,
      5) soy,
      6) very high protein diet,
      7) low carb diet,
      8) stress,
      9) most herbs in higher quantities permanently used.
      10) low potassium (lack of fruits, vegetables),
      11) plastics (packaging and so on),
      12) estrogen.
I want to add that when carbs get converted to fat,
people get also a light form of dementia.
Proteins get converted into carbs and then into fat under above mentioned circumstances. Alcohol and other addictions rise from inability to use carbs or lack of carbs (alcohol has a lot of calories, every time you smoke, glucose gets released into blood etc). If the carbs do not get converted into fats or into energy, then you get diabetes and high blood sugar.
If you dont eat at least 1 pound/0,5 kg carbs a day, your body might be eating in one month 2,2 pounds/ about 1 kg of your own flesh (proteins) and would turn those proteins into carb (Minesota starvation experiment). The body takes proteins from your heart, liver, skin, joints, muscles etc. and turns them into carb. Naturally those organs will get sick.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned being patient. I have abused my body for 50 years with a horrible diet that lead to severe insulin resistance and diabetes. I had been on keto for two years and had a heart attack in May. Thank God, I was I. Such good shape my heart suffered no damage. I decided to go Carnivore with a fresh slate. I have yet to lose weight, but I feel so much better and walking 4-7 miles five times a week. We need to give our body time to heal and repair. One day at a time is what it takes to stay healthy! I was over weight but that was never my focus. I started 9 months ago and did not even weigh before I started. I probably have lost 50 to 60 pounds but its more about cleaning out the plant toxins. Mainly oxalates. Im still dumping BIG TIME even after 9 months. I enjoy not feeling like I am going to die, literally and fitting into much smaller cloth sizes. The scale is not for me anymore and neither is ANY type of plant foods.

So I’ve been doing the carnivore diet now for about a year and two months. I weighed 337 pounds and now I am down to 245. My problem is once I got to 245. I stopped losing weight for about 2 1/2 to almost 3 months still doing the diet. What I did was went out and screwed up and ate some Mexican food and Italian food and basically started over and now I’m losing weight again. Only gained 2 pounds when I did this and now I am down to 235. I’m not telling anybody to do the same thing I did but it worked for me. But I did not eat any candy or drink any soda. I just had Mexican food and Italian food. Now I’m back at it.

Hi Laura, This is such good advice, especially when you said carnivore is not a magic pill and to be patient. I ate SAD for decades and can't expect everything to be fixed even in a few years.
One of my biggest challenges is boredom. I know, I know. Some people in the carnivore world say how can you be bored, you get to eat steak or various meats all the time. Don't misunderstand, I enjoy a variety of foods such as steak, bison, wild boar, chicken wing/thighs, shrimp, salmon, bacon and eggs to name a few. But being from the South, I loved cooking, was good at it and I miss cooking Tex-Mex, Italian, Indian, Thai, etc., with all those various flavors!!! I also really miss certain vegetables and salads! Whether it is my auto immune issues, the stuff in our soil, or food sensitivities, I cannot tolerate hardly any veggies now (IBS), zero night shades, no dairy (joint pain) not even BUTTER(major congestion mislabeled as seasonal allergies) So yeah, I get bored with the lack of flavors - savory and spicy. I just have to remember what Kelly Hogan said - she used the term JOMO. "The Joy of Missing Out" For me it is the JOMO on pain, inflammation and disease. But the struggle is real, so real.

    • @upriver7047

I agree. I MISS THE VARIETY OF FLAVORS ALSO MISS COOKING MEALS FOR MY FAMILY. I FREQUENTLY FELL LAZY AND UNCARINGBECAUSE I DON'T COOK ANYTHING BUT MEAT FOR THEM EITHER. I'M 4 YEARS CARNIVORE

    • @2Truth4Liberty
      @2Truth4Liberty 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@upriver7047 Ask them what they want and make that especially if it is something that causes them little or no inflamation? Many kids do not need carnivore (though some do), and if it is not a personal choice to do carnivore, it likely will not turn into a a life long healthy lifestyle.
Diet, like most anything else, is best taught by example, not by dictate.

I’ve been a fitness coach since 2014. What I like to do with my client that wants to lose weight or improve body composition is this: calculate TDEE and use that calorie number. Set 40% of those calories to protein. I leave 5% for trace carbs and the rest of calories coming from fat. It’s not all one-size-fits-all but it is a good starting place. Assess how you feel/mood/energy. Sometimes the damn scale doesn’t move but the person loses dress sizes. We all didn’t gain weight overnight, it takes time and diligence to lose it. I agree with Laura that you don’t want to have to track every day or “forever” but it’s essential to have an understanding of what and how much you are feeding your body. ❤

    • @YeshuaKingMessiah
      @YeshuaKingMessiah 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

I use GW as LBM & base protein on that, then make protein grams 25-30% of cals with rest as fat (10-15g carbs). Maybe a young person or a man doing well I would decrease fat to 60%.
Ppl like instinctively know their LBM and they aim for it (“GW”). If they put it too high, they’re afraid they’ll never get there or sustain it. But if u push them, they’re on target w/true GW/LBM.

I’m glad you mentioned number three. Nobody mentions number three, they just tell you to carnivore harder or different. From January 2022-January 2023, I was clean carnivore. Salt, water, meat, eggs, butter. Not even dairy. I kept gaining weight and losing hair, and kept adjusting my diet - Lion diet, high-protein/low-fat, high fat/low protein, OMAD. One full year carnivore, I walked away 60 pounds heavier. It cured many things within me, but it made my weight worse. Discovered I was hypothyroid, and that my ovaries shriveled up post-hysterectomy (performed 3/4 of way through carnivore journey). In January 2023, I attempted to introduce some seasonal vegetables like potatoes, which immediately triggered my sugar dragon, which had slept the entire year carnivore. I spent 2023 depressed and eating sugar, which brought back a few issues, but never changed my weight. I just recently started carnivore again a month ago coupled with fasting. After a month, I lost no weight, and started losing hair again. I am lost, and therefore starting a 40 day fast in September, hoping to reset every goddamn broken thing in my body. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I use a fairly high end Garmin watch.. that allows me to track/monitor the amount of cals I burn in my activies.. and log them. On average.. I burn 925 cals in activites 4 to 5 days per week. I dont consume fruits/veggies/plant of any kind.. I'm probalby 98% carnivore.. I eat eggs, butter, bacon, avacodo's, as part of my daily intake.. Average cals in is aprox 1850 with 172 grams from protein. and carb intake is well well below 20 grams per day.. usually around 10 grams. What I found was that the scale would move up or down by about 1 or 2 lb.. Ahhhhhhhhh... but my body fat was dropping and my muscle mass was going up - which is exaclty what we should all want to see. I dont focus on calories, so much but rather the Macros.. I think to much emphasis is often placed on caloric intake.. when it's the MACRO's you need to focus on ...insure that you're getting the protein/quality fats.. in daily and keeping carbs super low as possible.. and yes.. YOU REALLY DO NEED TO GET TO SOME EXERCISE... YOU GOTTA MOVE THAT BODY!

I havent been doing any up to now so im going to start walking in the next week or so and i think this will help and also change things so ill have to be conscious of the differences. 100% FALSE IN MY CASE! None of these reasons applied to my lack of weight loss. After 14 months of carnivore I gained 12 pounds. I had 28 pounds to lose, gained 12 so I found myself with 40 pounds to lose.
First I would stay as far away from doctors because 99% can do a lot of harm and have no understanding of diet or hormones. I just went to an independent lab and got my values that way.
The undereating or overeating is a red herring. It's BS. It was not until I paid attention to my stomach that I improved. When my stomach said it had enough I stopped even if I just had eaten 500 calories for the day. I started feeling much better. This nonsense of having to eat 200 grams of fat or 3500 calories a day was very harmful. When the stomach says enough, I just finally understood to stop.
I also made a huge discovery and that was that I had a histamine problem. I got this clue from seeing a video by Mikhaila Peterson where she said that DAO was hugely helpful. DAO is a kidney supplement that reduces histamine dramatically. When I had that under proper control everything changed. For years I had annoying scratchy eyes, runny nose, rashes, and uncontrollable itching at night and did not realize what it was. I just tolerated it.
These days when I eat and my stomach shuts down, it means I am done with food for the day. For several months I ate around 500 calories and was perfectly fine and feeling great. I have trouble eating all the fat recommended so I eat what I can and no more. This total BS of eating over 3000 calories and 200 grams of fat is psycho level. Finally, it was not until I became aware of the histamine connection that it all came together.
I am back down 20 lbs and have 20 to go. Some days, not often, I can eat 1500 calories simply because I am hungry to eat 1500 calories. I discovered all this on my own. I consulted briefly with carnivore gurus and realized they were even more clueless and had no idea how to help me but were more than willing to take $1000 retainers. I just shake my head!!!

I asked for some more feedback but never heard from him. Other carnivore gurus were insensed I questioned their methods, gave a few used bromides, and I never heard from them either.

I'm glad you've found a solution but for many people undereating is really unhealthy and a really awesome way to stall. I couldn't lose weight before carnivore because I was massively undereating. Thankfully I was able to let go on a dieting mindset, and gave up restricting. I've lost a huge amount of weight and easily eat 2000-3000 calories a day.

Calorie deficit matters less than when eating carbs every day, but burning more calories from exercise will move the needle much quicker.

Which is why on the carnivore diet you are supposed to eat until you’re full. And not calorie count.
Your body will tell you when you have had enough. Not a calorie counter. Calorie counting is where we got in to trouble with 1500 different diets. Just eat as low carb as you can and eat until you’re full.
This prevents the under eating situation.
And for god sake, no fruit at all.
Fruit is loaded with sugar and carbs. So you’re getting a double dose. And if you’re diabetic, for sure stay away.
Sugar strait in to your system. Carbs digest in to sugar, so it’s like a time released sugar.
You eat fruit and it slams your system with sugar and before your body can recover from the first onslaught, it has digested the garbs and the second wave of sugar hits you.

There are days that i will have 2 x sandwich plate meals (1 x scrambled eggs and 1 x hand size amount of red meat).
There are days that I will have OMAD which is a dinner size plate of rump steak with salt, garlic flakes, and cracked pepper.
I listen to my body. There are days that i needed to squeeze in yoghurt and a thumb size amount of hard cheese.
My best advice is to exercise. Using dumbells at home does help. Get a stepper, and use the stepper whilst watching your favourite TV show.
Drink 2 litres of water each day.. every 2 hours, drink 2 x full cups of water. This does help.
When you don't see the scales move a few days in a row, know that you are succeeding as you are not going backwards.
Cheating the carnivore to hopefully reactivate, or reset, is doing more harm to your body. By doing this will further stress bodys organs and stomach.
"What you see on the outside is not what you can see on the inside."
Thank you for allowing me to voice my advice.
Remember, "You are lighter than the day you started."
God blesss everyone who is willing to live a more healthy and sustainable lifestyle. 🙌

Right now I'm eating only beef, butter, salt and water. Plus doing cardio 20 min daily. Been doing this for a few weeks now. I don't weigh myself much so not sure how much I'm losing but have felt it in my clothes. My issue is that I get so full it's difficult to get many calories in. I'm averaging about 800-1000 per day. What do you suggest? I eat all I want until the thought of eating more makes me feel repulsion.

The first few weeks I had to push my fullness a bit....I would eat a few bites past full. It took a few weeks and then I started being more hungry.

I have been carnivore more than 2 months. I didn't lose a pound, I slightly gained weight. I haven't cheated once. Eating mostly beef, sometimes I add tallow (70-80% calories from fat and 20-30 from protein), once a week I eat some eggs and ghee or butter and other meats like lamb. I don't feel I am gaining any muscles. I calculated calories and I eat around 2000 kcal a day (female, 42). Thyroid and hormones are fine. I don't feel any different, I see no health, sleep or mood improvements. What am I doing wrong? Please help. 🙏🙏

I'm no expert on carnivore or any other diet but I think 2000 calories is too high. I'm in my 50s and lost 30 pounds give or take a couple of pounds. I've kept it off for a couple of years now. I try to not eat more than 1300 calories a day.

    • @nastjarechner

@@mahayoussef6218 yeah, when I was eating normally, I ate less. But here everyone says you NEED to eat until satiated and that without high glucose you can't store fat. I don't get it. I am also pretty high (175cm) so 2000 kcal seemed ok to me. I don't know any more. I am doing carnivore for healing, but losing a few kg would be nice too. I can't feel any improvements either: no better sleep, join pain and migraines still here. I don't know any more... Thanks for replying 🙏

Well i am not actually in carnivore but in keto. I have had periods that i doesn´t lose weight or even gain it. The simple answer has been that after getting thinner i started to move much more so i´ve geined muscle. Scale doesn´t tell all the truth. All those times i got thinner and my clothes were getting to big for me.

Gaining weight (assuming you are underweight) is also important in the positive sense, you need to know how to gain healthy amount of weight and not turn into a weak stick, everyone keeps talking about loss, loss, loss, but what happens when you lose all the additional weight? Do you think there is endless weight? You have to intentionally plateu to keep at a certain point or even rebulk if you went overboard.

Fantastic job Laura and I agree and slightly disagree about the 90% part. Only because the 90% approach is what got me started and others around me to become more serious about getting strict ❤👍. I'm just thankful I had time to sit watch one of your videos finally 😁

Excellent review of the possible causes. I'm in my 4th week, no weight loss, getting so bored with the food. How many eggs can a gal eat? I used to like bacon and now it's also become blah and boring. Not sure carnivore is right for me, but going to give it a bit more time. it's hard to overeat, as the food is such plain jane, it's just become fuel. Good signs: inflammation is down, feel like I am building more muscle from the inside out. No cravings for sweets or starches but longing for more variety.

The one thing I notice that has happened to me both times I’ve started the carnivore diet is that I develop knee pain in the first week or two. They actually feel stiff and inflamed. I’m really perplexed as to why this happens. I also gained weight for a bit but I think I might have been overdoing it on the fat.

What are you choosing to eat? Dairy will stall out losses. Are you at least walking? I would cut out any flavored electrolytes if you drink those. If it tastes sweet, it's gotta go. Your brain perceives it as sugar and increases insulin.

The problem with all of you people is that you all want the magick pill. You all don't want to put the time and energy necessary to lose weight or get in shape.....go exercise, or become more active for Christ sake!
You can all start by following a stretching exercise program routine, and then some aerobic type of exercises. Like walking for example.
Go to the mall and walk around for a couple of hours every day! Later you can start on some weights training.

I went carnivore 9 months ago for the health benefits ( not to lose weight ) 47, 5’9” male started at 165 lbs down to 140 lbs. I eat 3,000 calories a day and “can’t” gain weight. Some say it’s too much protein and I need more fat, but how do you lower protein and raise fat intake when my diet consists of eggs, ground beef and ribeyes ?
