No need to feel bad about not being up all the time. Anyone who has thru hiked or even done a long weekend knows it’s not always rainbows and unicorns. I am enjoying your video series of the trail and also taking some notes. I will there in late August with my hound mix Maggie and I already upgraded her sleep system to a EE 10 degree quilt and looking for a better rain jacket for her. We hiked during Long Trail in 22 and it was beautiful, very little rain. We returned in 23 and that’s all it pretty much did was rain and rain some more. We had to get off the trail for a bit because the state of Vermont got flooded and it rained over 17 inches in a few days, 10 in one night. I am much older than you 65 and long food and water carries kill me especially since I am carrying all of my dogs food and gear. That is why I totally get it. My favorite days are always the last two before resupply because my pack is finally light. You did a fantastic job never giving in and staying focused to completing the trail. Sometimes that’s all we can do.
You can't have the West without all of those high plains and rolling vegas, mixed in with the mountain ranges. They have their own beauty, and beyond that, they let you see the majesty of the mountains around them. Glad to see you are hanging in there -- and thanks to the trail angels. You so well deserved three in a single day. At this point, you deserved trail magic every couple of miles.
That cow poop water and tossed rock trail section blows for sure. It can zap a hikers spirit. I am so impressed with the amazing miles you are racking up through there. Just joined your channel and I am throughly enjoying your adventures!
Hey! Thanks for sharing your video! Your route is challenging and long. Stunning scenery in Colorado! You are really hard working to walk. Also remember to rest enough, hiking in such terrain is not easy.
Great videos. I'm looking to potentially thru-hike the CT next Summer, and these videos are giving me a great idea of what the trail may be like. Thanks and looking forward to the next one
You started your hike just over a week before I finished the CT in the same year!! Would have been cool to cross paths! Segment 17 is roooough. I struggled the day that I did segment 17 as well. The terrain isn't that great so that doesn't help. I just could not keep pace at all that day. But the next day I did 18 and 19 all at once ending in a 30 mile day and felt great! I think its just segment 17 that sucks the life outta ya. I am not sure if my videos shows my struggles that much that day...
Totally off subject but I think it’s funny when you talk about the next water source being “cow poop water” while you’re being rained on. Sorry just my military survival school mentality. Was the dog out there by himself? The scene about the big ass bull and the pepper spray cracked me up 🤣.
Again, stopp saying sorry in the description, your videos are cool, good mix between landscapes and a gentle story. Tell your husband he should come with you next time.
@@lazyextremist3119 If you plan to stay with your husband in the same tent, get the triplex. Seriously. For two persons plus their gear the duplex is smallish.
I agree I the Duplex being to small for two. I hike with my 50 pound hound mix and the Duplex is perfect and it could work for two but it would be tight. For some reasons all tent makers market their tents like this. Three is for two, two is for one and one is a coffin.
Love following along on this past journey. Like your style and absolutely love this trail 🙏🏔🏕
You're really getting me excited for getting back into shape and hitting either this hike, the CDT or the PCT next spring. Thank You for the videos !
"If it were easy, everyone would do it". Bravo and thanks for sharing your journey!

Really enjoying your video series. The views are gorgeous. Love your spirit and honesty in the videos!
I love watching you ,love your music ,love that you show its not always all happy peachy out there !! You are a tough cookie ,keep hiking my sweet .❤
Hiker blues are real, love you calling out people to get there butts out on the trail and experience it for themselves! Safe travels.
“I just chugged that Pepsi, and there’s caffeine in there.” Love it. What a difference the small things make. Keep plugging. You’re doing great!
I'm really enjoying your hike and your true honesty showing day to day, good and bad on the trail. Looks like a fabulous trail! You go girl!!
Nothing better then a Pepsi or any caffeine out on trail. The little things make such a massive difference.

You are so tough!! Keep on fighting!! 💪💪💪

I love your videos. I've been thinking of which of the triple tiara trails to take, and from what you've shown I think this may be the one!
Beautiful 🥾🥾⛰🏕 love your honesty and realistic perspective!
A true spirit and a huge heart .
Beautiful soul !
Your videos keep me smiling.
Love the road walk comment on Segment 18.😁
Your demure personality brings out the protective mode in me. I wish I could send you a sunshine boost.
No matter how much it sucks, I'd rather be you! No shit!!
Well look who is back on trail, bout time good to see you again and hope you are doing well
Thanks for sharing!
I think that Pepsi altered your stream of consciousness: “cows, cows, cows, cows.” 🤪
Sounds like a lot of type 2 fun going on.

Hey there, what are you shooting with? GoPro? Thanks!
I didn’t even realize you started uploading again lol.
🦋❤
Prayers for this section, dying trees, dead trees, rocks and rutted trail from motorbikes.
Was the dead forest you hiked through killed by mountain pine beetles?
Yes I think it was from the beetles. There were so many dead forests it was a little sad to see.

The dog had humans! The first time I test shot my pepper spray ever on trail was for that bull.

I plan to drag him with me on a shorter trip next year. Justification for me to get a duplex ;)

Where should the eyes be focused when making a video? The camera eye or over my shoulder? Face palm....
