I said it when you were on the AT and this trek confirms it... you have thru-hiker blood coursing through your veins. Congratulations on completing your journey and doing it with dignity, grit and class. That's what makes you so special and your vlog so compelling to watch. Well done thru-hiker!!
Wow I’m crying. I watched it all in one sitting and was so happy for you. That was amazing. If anyone is thinking of doing this trail, they need to watch this. You are amazing Congratulations.
Congratulations you did a wonderful job hiking and capturing the beauty of Colorado but also the grind of thru hiking that is know is real. I watched you start to finish and I truly enjoyed it. I turn 65 this month and my dog Maggie a I will start the CT in August of 25. Your videos and you inspired me to stay focused and to be prepared for what’s to come. I plan on hiking at a similar pace but with a few more zeros. Thanks for sharing your experience, I wish you well. Take care
Thank you for honesty and realism, you are an inspiration to me. July’23 will be 3.5 years cancer free and I have already lost 60lbs. I plan on hiking the CT in 2023.
I binged your 10 video series, which is very unusual for me. I am late to the comments, but I still wanted to let you know that I very much enjoyed your video series. I felt like I was on the journey with you, but without having to get wet from rain or sweat. The emotion you had finishing the hike was very powerful. Congratulations on your accomplishement, on your video series and on completing a wonderful, albeit lonely at times, adventure.
Just watched the last CT vlog. What a fabulous piece of work. Im a 70 year old male who has been backpacking for 50 years. I can so feel your pain, emotion and exhilaration at being at the end. Tears. You are so talented. Can't thank you enough for allowing all of us to join you on this hike in such a real way.
@@lazyextremist3119 I live in Alabame, but have backpacked a lot in Wyoming. Did the Teton Crest Trail. Spectacular. Also hike a good bit in Wyoming's Wind River Range and some in Colorado. Thanks again for sharing. Ill watch your AT videos next.
Congratulations. Thank you so much in showing us the fabulous CO Trail scenery. Even in your down and low moments you kept the camera rolling. That is why viewers tune in and you did not disappoint. Thanks again.
Congratulations on your accomplishment!! Thank You so much for sharing your adventure. I couldn't stop watching your videos until you finished. Well done!
I did a Thru of the CT, finishing on 8/1. I hiked 32 days with 4 zero days for 36 days total. The journey was amazing. A wet stormy summer I may add. Anyway, I watched your videos and thought about them often. You gave me inspiration when things got hard. Thanks! “1i” On the Trail.
I hiked this trail in 2018 - changed my life. I've watched many of your posts, and I want to say that I appreciate your candidness - too many don't tell the whole story - the highs and lows are real. So glad you toughed it out. Congrats!
Thanks for sharing your journey. You seem like a really nice young lady and I am so glad you attempted and made the CT a forever great accomplishment. Onward your go. Thx. E
I really enjoyed your CT vlog. Prettiest views I have ever seen. I felt all your emotions; you are a superb vlogger. Must admit, I teared up times when you did; specially at the end. Hope you will have other adventures that we can follow. Take care. xx
Congrats! I had to bail at Molas Lake after 24 days...I had issues with my shoulder, my left arm was numb for the last three days, (after falling) which made a difficult hike, dangerous. I'll head back next year to finish the last 4 segments, it was a incredible journey, thanks for sharing yours with the community. Cheers, oh...BTW - I'll be doing segment A of the PCT (just 104 miles) in a few weeks, I need to be back on the trail...peace.
This has been by far and away the best CT video I've seen. Everything is real vs being sensationalized. Congrats. Dang I live 12 miles awat from Waterton Canyon and you've have inspired me. Great editing as was.
Congratulations from a CTF volunteer for completing this trek with style and grace. It has to be reassuring especially after having to drop off the AT due to your serious health issues. Well done!
Awesome video series! I've wanted to hike the CT for awhile now. I need to just plan it and do it. I like that you showed the highs and the lows instead of just a highlight reel. Much more realistic. Also I bet in no time you will forget most of the lows and just remember the positives. I think that's what keeps us going back. Glad you finished it!!! Congratulations on being a CT thru hiker!
Congrats! You're definitely badass! I love your honesty and humility through this whole journey you were on. I also love your statement, "I have a life I'm not trying to escape from....." In this day and age I think many tend to do that and don't even realize they're trying to run from themselves? Awesome job! Peace and Love
I've watched every second of your videos and have loved tagging along. You are a great story teller with these videos. I've enjoyed watching your trip so much. Congratulations on a huge accomplishment. You should be very proud of what you did.
You are a beast! Congratulations, and I am really happy for you. Thanks for sharing all of the moments of wonderment and even the moments when you were really up against it. Congratulations you did it! You are a thru hiker. That is an amazing trail with breathtaking views and beauty all around. That was an awesome journey Thank you for sharing.
Your vlogs are very well done. Congratulations on such an accomplishment. That trail is definitely on my list of trails to hike. Do you have a suggestion of what would be the best time of year to start? Also, if you had to only do a 100ish mile section, what point to point would you do? If you haven't thought of it, I hope you get to experience the John Muir Trail as well some day. It has a similar beauty to the Colorado Trail, but I don't believe it is quite as open and green. There are some beautiful places, however throughout that hike. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Congratulations!!!! I love your videos! You have a special way about you that makes your video content different in a great sort of way! Thanks for sharing your adventures!!!

I have just found this channel, and binge watched your CT. What an accomplishment! If you only had one week to spend on it, which segment would you recommend ? I'm also a midwest gal, and altitude is intimidating!! ;)
Congrats! The views were amazing! I really understand when you said you weren’t trying to escape home life with hiking! I love hiking but my wife not so much ( not at all)! When I go I miss my family and I know they worry about me so it’s hard sometimes to enjoy what you went out on the trail for! Thanks for taking us along! #type2rules!

Thanks for the videos. Thinking of doing th CT with a friend next year. We both are hoping to hang. Are there enough places that will enable us to hang hammocks?
Thank you for sharing your adventure, I have enjoyed watching your videos. Later this summer I was planing on section hiking a portion of the CT and would like your recommendation. I will be looking to do around 100 miles in 5-6 days. Is there a section you would recommend?
My favorite section was between San Luis and Silverton in the San Juans. It's pretty high altitude (many miles at 13k) and remote, but absolutely stunning. It definitely depends on the shape you are in. A more accessible point for fitness, altitude, and traveling is starting from the climb out of Breckenridge/Frisco. It was also very beautiful.

A question. I'm planning on hiking the CT this summer and my girlfriend would like to join me for a week or so. Are there a few sections you'd recommend, bearing in mind altitude acclimatization and accessibility to a town where we can rendezvous? (She'll be flying into Denver from the east coast and is generally very fit.) Thanks in advance!
For logistics, I would recommend the climb out of Breckendridge - it is beautiful and just the right amount of exposure. You'll be early enough into your hike that she'll be more likely to keep up without discomfort (even if she's fit, trail legs are hard to beat). I think it's pretty high in altitude, but it'll only get more altitude from there. Otherwise, the San Juans are absolutely stunning. San Luis (14k side trail) at sunrise was my favorite moment on trail. My favorite miles were between 338 through Silverton at mile 412. I hope you have a great journey! The CT is truly awe-some.
