Glad you're thru-hiking again as you are one of my favorite vloggers. On your AT thru-hike I especially liked hearing your reflections on the trail. Hope you'll continue that here and take some time to just express your emotions and what nature and solitude are doing for you and to you. Please talk about how the trail changes your perspectives on such things as materialism, career choices, lifestyle and so forth. Your ability to express yourself and your insight are a few reasons your vlog is so unique. Wishing you the best on your journey.
I totally agree, some segments are better than others, but WOW...what a journey I had! I was a few weeks behind you and the weather was pretty nice. Congrats on the hike and the video. Cheers.
Absolutely loved following you on the AT and was sad when you had to go. So glad to see you back out hiking. You completely SHINE when you are out exploring. You are always so excited, smiling and happy. Watching you is magnetic. I hope you stay healthy and strong.
I'm glad I get to see you doing this because I'm currently hiking the American Discovery Trail and I'll be spending a few days on the Colorado trail when I get out West. I'm in your home state of Illinois right now on the Illinois and Michigan Canal trail. Keep up the great work. Happy trails
Watching you is what I dreamed my 2019 AT through hike would be like. You are so full of life that it appears magical! I’ve watched a lot of hikers on TH-cam but man you are something special! My AT thru hike ended at mile 311 with tendinitis in both feet ( thanks to Altras). I was living through YOU in 2020, glued to every second of your videos.
Don’t know what’s going on with TH-cam but I didn’t get notified of these first 2 videos dropping. Guess I’ll have to “binge” these 3 videos and get caught up. 😂 Good to see you back out there. Hike on and have fun!
So I am going to go out on a limb here and guess that this adventure is going to be more scenic than walking across Illinois. Also, I think the phrase "it's pretty exposed here" is going to be a theme -- and that's both a good thing and a bad thing. You can see for miles out there, which also means you can see the clouds forming and heading your way. Hike in the mornings. Have a great time and stay safe!
Great vid, thanks. Was going to watch the olympics but this is way better! Loving the quick edits and commentary. Hope the elevation and your new shoes are kind to you. 👍🏻
Just found your channel...I'm going to do my first solo hike soon -AT section. Watching you is powering! Now I'm going to have to binge on your channel. .
So I just did a thing and ordered the databook and trail guide. Lol Looks beautiful and you did great with the videos. I watched them all yesterday. Silly question but where did you get your sunshirt? I love the color.
Biggest change was upgrading my sleeping pad to an air pad, and it's an amazing difference. I plan to upgrade my tent in the future because my Nemo couldn't hang with all the rain.
You are off to a good start, young woman. I'm heading out to the JMT in a few weeks on my own adventure. Although I am 67 years old, I would like to do the CT before its too late. I, too, hike solo. All the best to you. Hike on!
I started behind the bubble for sure (July 14), and it took me forever to catch them, so I ended up being solo most of the time and did a lot of solo camping - my videos are super behind at this point because I didn't have service for ages.
Cool! I'm headed out that way in a few weeks. Also coming from an elevation of about 400 feet, it takes me a couple of days to adjust. Additionally, a rule of thumb out there this time of year is to be below the treeline by noon, due to afternoon thunderstorms.
How do you like your HMG pack, I’m considering upgrading to the southwest 3400. Most worried about comfort....what size do you have and what is your pack weight average? Thanks, love your content!
I use the Nemo Hornet 2P. I have the 2018 model. I really loved it for it's first 1000 miles, but I got soaked out quite a bit on the CT. Also, if you're over like 5'7 I would try seeing one in person. I think it runs a little short.
@@lazyextremist3119 Ahh cool thanks for the info! I'm 5'-8" I'll definitely look in person before I pull the trigger. I'm gonna wear out my REI Trail Hut 2 first, or if my daughter gets into backpacking in the next couple years, I may look into a 3 person tent. I'm mostly just shopping around haha Thanks!
Been wondering what your next adventure would be. You're doing great so far, considering the higher elevation you said you come from. Looking forward to following along.
Such a spirited gal and an incredible smile. She's making this old goat really want to get out there and get to hiking again !
Thanks you! Beautiful you and place. I love travel and interesting watching you.

Fun catching up on your channel. This has got to be one of my favorite trails.
I am glad to see you're back out there doing what we all love to do, hiking to enjoy God's natural gifts. Good luck on your hike and Godspeed.
Love your reaction to the vistas!

Segment 4 climb was an underappreciated butt kicker. Great video.
Yay! Back on the trail! Thank you for taking us along!
Beautiful scenery!

So good to see you back on trail again. Hope your health is doing good. Great video. Beautiful country.
Love the videos, and your choices of instrumental music. Good to see you back out. Make good water choices! LOL

Your comment made me laugh - yes both were true. Much more scenic than IL and many many phrases of being exposed were said.
Welcome back!!! Wishing you all the trail magic and hope you find yourself a big group of hikers soon!
Great vid, thanks. Was going to watch the olympics but this is way better! Loving the quick edits and commentary. Hope the elevation and your new shoes are kind to you. 👍🏻
Good to see you back on trail!! Happy Trails!
I'm so happy to see a new vid! Maybe a lonely stretch of trail is best for what ails you.
There is that sweet awesome girl ,loving your new adventure ❤
Awesome that you’re back on trail (and bringing us along)!

Good to see you back on trail, looking forward to seeing this new journey.
I follow you on ig and have been seeing your trail post and was so hoping you were vlogging it!! Thank you so much for sharing your adventures!!
Glad to see you back! What inspired the choice of the CT?
Don't worry about going to fast enjoy it
So I just did a thing and ordered the databook and trail guide. Lol Looks beautiful and you did great with the videos. I watched them all yesterday. Silly question but where did you get your sunshirt? I love the color.
I wore the mountain hardware sun hoody. I’m pretty sure I ordered it through REI. I hope you get out there - it was a great trail!
Heyyyy, you're back!
So glad you’re back on the trail! I’m just getting started and it’s inspirational.
You are interesting! I do believe I will follow along!
Hey Salty, I'm watching and pulling for you. Silver Fox
Thanks Silver Fox!!
Great to see you back on trail 👍 Any significant gear changes for the CT compared to your other hikes?
Biggest change was upgrading my sleeping pad to an air pad, and it's an amazing difference. I plan to upgrade my tent in the future because my Nemo couldn't hang with all the rain.
Big mountains make big weather. I prefer to carry a 4 season tent in the Rockies, but that is a heavy option going solo like you!
looks like a good hike
Beautiful sunrise on day 3. Looks like an amazing trail - quite different from the R2R I’m sure. Looking forward seeing your journey. Good luck
Looks like fun 🙂🙏

Is the trail crowded with other Thur hikers ?
I started behind the bubble for sure (July 14), and it took me forever to catch them, so I ended up being solo most of the time and did a lot of solo camping - my videos are super behind at this point because I didn't have service for ages.

I love mine. I have a size small. My pack is always under 30lbs (probably max 28 with food/water). Base weight around 16lbs I’d say.
Which Nemo tent do you use? Do you recommend it?
I use the Nemo Hornet 2P. I have the 2018 model. I really loved it for it's first 1000 miles, but I got soaked out quite a bit on the CT. Also, if you're over like 5'7 I would try seeing one in person. I think it runs a little short.

💯 Twilight Meadow

This looks like an interesting trail! 😁 How long is it?
Just under 500 miles
@@lazyextremist3119 Great alternative to the CDT, PCT or AT if you don't have the time to do a really long thru-hike! I'll keep it in mind... 😁
🤙
I swear I was just on an airplane with you. You didn’t know that the table was in your armchair
Look out for Hiker & Wanted Snake Brian Laundrie ($30000 reward announced for info leading to arrest). Previously lived on the AT for months.!
This woman has bigger balls than me.
I mean, this in no way approaches the beauty of the River to River, though, right? 😏
Hahah! You’re right, it’s just so disappointing out here (joking of course)
